gore dropping that pass was unacceptable. but they didn't feed him the ball enough in the run game. kaep didn't run enough either. this team shouldn't be passing the ball more than running.

Great game last night.  Of course I was happy with the final score, but to be perfectly honest, I think he Chiefs did lots that they should be happy about.

I'm glad Peyton didn't go down too hard as well!

The game in 2 weeks is going to be just as intense.

I expected the Broncos to beat the Chiefs. I feel as though the Chiefs didn't have that much of a tough match-up thus far which probably explains why they were 9-0. They might have gotten lucky with a game or 2 and able to stay undefeated. But that was definitely gonna chance when they face a real tough team.

Peyton Manning is a far far better QB than Alex Smith is. And Alex Smith hasn't even been performing the best this season, his team has been picking up his slack. However, I'm interested in seeing next week's game of Broncs at Pats. Now that QB match up will be exciting to see. It's too bad Wes Welker is not likely to play the Pats this week.

I think this game did at least show that KC belongs on the same field. I think they might win it at home in a few weeks if Smith practices some good down field passing.

I don't think Denver beating KC surprised anybody. KC defense did slow Peyton down enough to have a shot at winning. But, the usual knock against Alex Smith, he's too safe/conservative to win games when he needs to.

I think it is a bit premature to say anything based off Denver doing what they are supposed to do and win at home.  If they go into KC and win then it is a different story.  KC will be very tough to be in the playoffs if they get home field so that game is critical for both teams but more so for KC as I see Denver being able to beat KC at KC in playoffs but not the other way around.

Buffalo Bills only 1/2 a game back from a wildcard spot in the AFC. With the schedule ahead it is very possible for them to win out and finish 9-7 which should mean playoffs. Games against Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Jackonsville, Miami, and New England to finish the season. Bills should be able to win all of these against struggling teams with the most difficult being in Miami.

If peyton stays healthy in this next game against the pats. He will carry the broncos to a victory against the chiefs the week after. It's pretty much smooth sailing from then on.

^I was just having this conversation with another friend who is a bills fan.   I gave him 30:1 odds that they bills wouldn't win 5 in a row though and he passed.  Apparently he just WANTS to believe, but doesn't actually.

Also, for the sake of accuracy, the New England game is the hardest on that schedule, not Miami.

30:1? man, i'd take that.  not much to lose, lots to gain.... but... it is the Bills i'd be relying on!

they are too inconsistent. At least when I was watching them with Thad Lewis. My girl always roots for the Bills because they have been the worst for the longest time and it was a great game when they whooped the jets ass

They have a solid Defense and have some talent...they just need to bring it together.  Then they can reach their best (which is a Wild Card birth in the playoffs, then they lose)

it's a sad day when a hit like that ends up being fined by the league. i understand they want to protect the qb's head. but they have gone too far. he barely got close the "neck area". oh, wait, what's the definition of the "neck area"? yeah, there isn't one. i guess any form tackle that grazes the chest can be consider a hit to the "neck area". i guess the nfl wants hits to the knee and end careers just to avoid future head injury litigation...

It's really only a $8k fine because Ray Lewis said he is going to pay half of it.

Teddy Bruschy also said he would pay 1/3 the fine. So, he ends up having to only pay 1/6, which is $2,666.67.

I would appeal the fine if I were him, even if everyone else is paying for him. That kind of hit should not result in fines...might as well make it touch football for all QBs.

If you watch closely in slow mo you can see that the initial point of contact was not the head. As he followed through and Brees dropped it carried through to his head. It was clear that the head was no the intended point of contact. The rules state it is a penalty and although it wasn't flagrant it needs to be called. But it was unnecessary for a fine to be added on top of that. He pays the same as a guy that targets the head with intent

It was a helluva hit but a good, clean hit.  No way he should be fined unless the league wants to become a 2-hand touch league.  Ridiculous.  My feeling is if he hit a 2nd or 3rd tier QB the same way it wouldn't be an issue.

^The way announcers talk make me think he's 5'8"

Turns out he's listed at 6' which in non-sports world, seems pretty reasonable height, seeing as people talk about Cam Newton like he is a giant for the position and he's only 5 inches taller.

It must be a matter of inches (that's what she said), because we do talk about Cam being huge, and RG3 is listed at 6' 2".  To me RG doesn't exactly look small.   Russel Wilson is listed at 5'11", and he definitely looks smaller than an RG3.

I read somewhere that the average starting NFL QB is 6-3, so apparently Brees is also on the shorter side of your average QB.

I am pretty darn impressed with Wilson.  He's a winner...and not in the Tebow way.

Saints - Falcons was a surprisingly low scoring game, I expected Brees to light up the crappy Atlanta defense.  Good thing NO's defense is playing well, Saints could have lost this one.  Matty Ice threw for more yards than Brees, not many times that's going to happen.

Yes, I was shocked every time I looked at my phone to check the score to learn that they just kept not scoring.  Very surprising.  Makes me look ahead and wonder how NO expects to score on Seattle or Carolina.  They might be an 11-5 team at the end of the season...which still will be good enough to get them a first round bye in playoffs.
