that broncos vs. chiefs game was exciting. I honestly was about to turn it off when peyton threw his 2nd interception. 41 td's for manning this season.

isn't that like 3 in a row for the chiefs? interesting how fast things can change

it is 3 in a row. It's been said that the Chiefs had easy teams for their 9 game winning team. They might have gotten lucky with a game or 2 to stay undefeated. Surprised they lost last week tho, not surprised they lost to Broncos

Chiefs are still playoff contenders so it'll be interesting to see how they bounce back come post season.

Lions sitting on top of the crappy NFC North after beating Green Bay 40-10 on Thanksgiving and some thanks to the Vikings for beating the Bears.  Lions needed this win after 2 shitty losses against Pitts and Tampa Bay.

^ Bears keep loosing me points in the office pool.  I'm done with them, and the Jets.

At least the texans are a sure thing in the loss category. LOL

I too almost ended my tv watching when the Broncos just looked lost out there... then Peyton started being Peyton.  That was a great time (for me at least)!

its so funny too me that the Texans were a pick to be super bowl favorites this year and now they are favorites for first pick in the draft...i love all these espn experts.

a lot of talk about crowd noise. I think it's overrated. "experts" say its hard to win in places like Seattle, KC, NO, etc cuz the crowds are so loud. Ummm, when these teams sucked it was easy to win there.

Seriously impressive win by sea chickens ... Is there any team that can go up there and beat them in playoffs?

well they do have 1 loss, so they aren't unbeatable. But they have been pretty strong in every game. My bet is on seahawks going to Metlife Stadium this february

I thought it was funny that Seattle could have scored on almost any possession in the second half, but shut it down.  They even turned over possession on the 45 rather than punt because they knew new orleans wouldn't score

Going to be really tough to beat them at home though. So if they get the home field advantage, they will be huge favorites to go to the super bowl.

yes, and the way they handled NO and SF (we'll see if they do it again) makes me think that they are the team most likely to make it.  And that is with a short 2nd year QB!

^^ Great defense and great run game. Great run game opens up a lot for Wilson and he aint afraid to make long passes.

^ Yep, superbowl will be on the road for everyone (since Giants are probably not gonna make it. I'm a sad Giants fan....) and in freezing cold weather.....

Unless you're the Giants or the Jets, it'll be on the road for every team. But Seattle's path to the SB will most likely be at home unless they start stumbling in the last few games, which I don't see happening. But then, every given Sunday...so you never know. A sub .500 team from the NFC East could some how take home the Lambardi...Tongue

haha..i personally think that the best records should be in the playoffs, regardless of division. and better record should have home field (remember seattle vs. new orleans a couple  years back?). so, i agree that the nfc east should be left out this year, except that i'm a cowboys fan and i want them to get in. but they shouldn't get home field for the 1st round. it's just not right that a 12-4 team has to be the visiting team against a 7-9 team...Confused

I just think it's weird that a team that has like an 8-8 record can win their division and make the playoffs. but a 10 win team can be left out.

^ I'm putting my money on Jacksonville, they have played fairly well the past few weeks.  Plus they beat the Texans 2 weeks ago in Houston.

Steelers coach Tomlin fined $100K and Pitt may lose a draft pick due to his actions in last week's game... those are some tough penalties.

I still think Houston can stop them from scoring, and Ben Tate will get a couple TDs.  14-9 Houston is my pick.

$100,000 is so much money!  I think he was right to get fined, but it is funny how much money is tossed around in that league.  Tomlin interfered with a play and chuckled afterwards, though he realized he would be fined significantly.  Unbelievable money in the NFL.

I'm hopeful Houston can put a couple wins together -- want to ensure Cleveland gets a high pick, especially above teams that need a QB.  With Mariota running scared (I'm kinda sure he pulled out of the draft so he wouldn't have to go to the Browns) I think our mgmt is focused on Bridgewater and will trade the entire draft to get him if they have to.  There are so many holes on the roster I hope we can "earn" the #1 pick instead of trading for it.  And we "won" the tiebreaker with Jacksonville last week Wink

I think he is the one, but I don't think JAcksonville or Houston would trade out unless they wanted a different quarterback and could get value out of that trade.

I think Mariotta knows the browns will still be bad next year, so I don't think that could have been the incentive.  But I think the QB draft class will be weaker next year, so I see him moving up a little if he doesn't get injured.

^^^ I bet CLE can persuade someone with two ones (our high one and the indy trade for Richardson), a two, two threes, and two fours, which will likely be on the table early and often unless we pick first.  But what I'm really concerned about are the potential future picks that could be traded -- how does Washington look to get better without all of their draft picks traded for RGIII?

I will contend that, though not this season, Washington will be just fine.  I still expect RGIII to be extremely successful there.  Their Defense needs to get better, and they need to have more reliable receivers.  But I think they will win the East next year.

4th win in 5 games for the jags. its crazy that they're still alive for the playoffs. as for the Texans, they haven't won in months.

What was one hell of a weak TNF game. Wish they would switch up who's playing if both teams suck. And that is nuts that Jags are still alive for a playoff spot haha.

^WOW. That farking sucks.....it's not his fault that Schaub threw a pick six every single game....
And it's probably best for the team that they lost yesterday. Now, they are almost locked in for first pick on the draft. They can pick a new QB and rebuild.

When you lose both times to the Jaquars, you can't expect to keep your job. I didn't think they would do it mid-season though.

It is amazing how fast the Texans went from being a strong team (12-4 last season) to one of the worst teams this season.  11 consecutive losses, damn, that's bad.

It's hard to believe, but it is official now...They are the worst team!  They were lucky to win their first two games and now the real team is showing through.  And it seems like next year is going to be rough too, since they have so many parts that are bad.

Honestly, how did the texans sink this low this fast?  I know they have some injuries, but come on man, most teams have at least a few injuries.  As much as i can't stand him, look what tommy b's done in new stinkland.

They were supposed to challenge if not overcome the colts this season.  just... wow!

And i actually feel sorry for kubiak.  guy has a stroke on a nationally televised game, and now he's unemployed.  as far as the rest of the team is concerned though... meh.

I kind of though JJ Watt was worth cheering for, but apparently a team can avoid 1 defender from really influencing games.

lots of good matchups tomorrow. 49ers/Seahawks, Saints/Panthers, etc.
is it just me? or is common sense not that common.

Conference Championships were pretty good games yesterday.  I like that Ohio State showed they couldn't be themselves against a good team.  I look forward to them losing in a BCS bowl game, depending on how they draw.  The others projected to make BCS games (clemson, UCF) are also fairly week compared to the top tier of the BCS.

Man, I can't believe how much snow is pouring during the game, that must be hell to play in.  Shocked
