Pack got a good deal, basically a one year deal with only 7.5 guaranteed. Once the bears signed Lamar Houston it was just a matter of time.

Depends who the QB is. Might surprise and end up 6-10.

The only future location for Pryor is another tattoo shop so he can trade in his glory days OSU gear for new ink.

6 wins for Raiders? Worlds will collide! That's one too many. I'll spot them 5.

They're a qb away towards mediocrity and a lot away from relevance.

Cowboys sign Brandon Weeden to be the backup QB after Kyle Orton? Some analysts are saying that might mean Romo's days are numbered and Weeden will be groomed to be the starting QB in a year. That's one way to get out of the stupid contract extension they gave Romo...

Henry Melton decides to go to the Cowboys for very little money this year, and a team option to sign the next 3 years. If he's fully recovered from his injury, Dallas would have a pro-bowl caliber DT on the cheap...

Please tell me you are joking?  Weeden the future cowboy QB...if that is even remotely true then they are truly lost.

AFC is nice,as the football blog http://www.footballtshirtuk.com posted, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans are showing no signs of being anywhere near the caliber teams that are needed to be considered conference champs.

^ Probably a good move for Schaub, Houston's fanbase was relentless in abusing him.  Since Houston is holding the #1 pick in the draft they will probably go with Bridgewater, Bortles or (*gasp*) Manziel.

Looks like the Schaub trade is happening..Raiders giving Houston some late round pick for him. He better start practice his scrambling skills..because he'll be running for his life with no O-line.

With this move, it's most likely that Houston will take a QB w/ their 1st pick..I don't think they expect Case Keenum to be their QB solution...

I think Schaub is done. He was brutal last year. This salary dump and getting a late pick for him is a major plus for Houston. As for the Raiders, they need to start developing a QB for once or hope that McGloin or Pryor can step up.

Sometimes athletes can revive a doomed career by getting a fresh start in another city.  I would like to see Schaub have a successful season for Oakland, he was beat up badly last season.

One can only hope. But to reiterate what Lightning said, Raiders have no o-line. This should be a roller coaster season for him.

The crackdown on player celebrations is getting carried away.  I do not see what the issue is with players dunking the football over the goalpost.  Let 'em have their fun, give them 15-20 seconds to celebrate and bring on the extra point unit.  Ridiculous.

Because when the players don't clear the goalpost and hang on it, it makes them uneven.  Then you have a 15 minute delay to fix it, which is exactly what happened this past season.

^ Was not aware of that, thanks for the insight.  I guess the ban on dunking makes sense especially if it causes a 15 minute delay.

Jared Allen signs with the Bears and gets to face his former team twice next season.  Bears are signing quite a few Defensive players.

i can understand that dunking over the goal post could make the goalpost uneven. but, what about just pre-planned dances that don't delay the game while the field goal team is getting on the field and setting up. and not done right in front of an opposing player so it doesn't violate the taunting rule? i thinks fans who pay money to watch the games, or watch on TV so the NFL can get the big TV contracts, and fans who buy merchandise; enjoy those celebrations.

I didn't see anything about dances/celebrations being banned. Just the dunking over the goalpost.

They're also increasing the length of the uprights by 5 feet so it's easier to judge some kicks.

I just don't get the pro day (for big names especially).  isn't game and practice film a better watch?

i guess i see the point for small schools that don't get a lot of national attention... but still.

Pro days and the combine. I think it's all about game film when it comes to evaluating players. But If it's NFL related, people will watch.

I think game film is the most important tool but the combine and pro days are useful for players who might want to exhibit skills/traits that they didn't get the opportunity to show during the season

^^ To'che.

Like a guy that needs to showcase his speed, even though the system he played in had him as a stay at home middle linebacker, and the pro's want to move him outside or something.

And yes.... people will watch that on TV. Confused

A surprising move.  The Eagles wanted him gone enough to eat a $6M hit on the salary cap.  Wonder what went wrong in Philly?  He's just 27, had a great year (1,332 yards, 9 TDs).

Maybe his gang connections?  Or his connection to rapper Theron Shakir who was acquitted of murder charges?  Or Jackson throwing gang signs at DeAngelo Hall last season?

yeah..it looks like there are some off field issues that the eagles don't want to deal with...the Cowboys can just implement their Dez Rules on him and keep him out of trouble for a while...do it Jerry!!!

I also like the Schaub move. He may be on the downward slope but with a crop of QB's with so many questions he could be a good stop-gap for a year or two. I hope Watkins falls to them and they scoop him up. Pairing him with Moore, when healthy, would be fun to watch

He's lobbying for djax. If he ends up there it should help Schaub.

Another good move by the Raiders bringing in Carlos Rogers and Tarrell Brown. Older heads to provide some short term stability and mentor D.J Hayden

Raiders are collecting a bunch of players that are at the end of the careers. Yes, they were pretty good once..but now? Schaub had a down year..MJD has been bad for a couple of years with injuries. I don't know if these aging players will be able to help much.
