wtf this is stupid. specially since there are only 2 teams drafting. When are they going to do this?

Lol, Yup. With only two teams its more like picking players like playground football. Whatever, its still nor that interesting to me.

I actually think the idea of voting for pro-bowl players, then the captains picking the teams how they want.  Allows for them to play with players they'd never get the chance to unless they signed elsewhere.

Haha this is funny. Apparently, next season the NFL has mandated that cameras be installed into locker rooms to enhance the "fan experience". There are somethings in a locker room that I don't want to see.... unless we're talking about lingerie football. lol

I am pretty sure lingerie football plays wear more clothes in the lockers room, so I think you'll be disappointed.

Yea, you know you really messed up and need a reality check when you're such a diva, that everyone knows your reputation, even in a whole other career aka arena football. When you get all big headed and think you're the greatest, it will blow up in your face eventually. I just wonder when he's ever going to change cuz even arena football didn't want him anymore.

Up to 4 players now!! What a massive day this would be

I think this is the way to do it.  If 4 players do it on the same day, there might be even more in the following days depending on how players react.  There are some that will remain closeted of course, but this would be a great way to avoid having 1 player, or 1 team/city to have to burden all the attention.

Absolutely. Though I still wanna see the look on the faces of some crotchety old-timers who happen to be uber-fans of those players. Don't wanna see anyone made a pariah for being able to express who they are, but pissing a few of those folks off would be nice.
The NFL has made great strides in players rights and freedoms in recent years. Its great to see em continuing in the right direction by supporting these players.

Does anyone know what happened with the Urlacher/Bears fallout deal? I heard he wanted more money with less guarantee and the Bears wanted to give him less money total. It's sad they couldn't come to an agreement with the face of their franchise.

I'm just amazed at how much of a deal Tony Romo is getting and he sucks every time an important play matters.  It's just sad at how super bowl champions can't get a better deal and yet someone who hasn't gone to the super bowl let alone only won one championship game inks a better deal.  SMH.

Quiet season in the NFL huh.

Glad we (raiders) rid ourselves of Rolando, I'm loving the moves being made to purge the team of all of Al's mistakes

^Peter King ran a list of all the Raiders first round picks since 2004... not pretty:
2004: Gallery;   2005: Fabian Washington;   '06: Huff;    '07: JeMarcus Russell;   '08:  McFadden;    '09: Heyward-Bey:   '10: Rolando McClain.  11: no pick (Seymour trade);  '12: no pick (Palmer trade).

Ouch.

Ouch.

A shocking lineup of picks with none on the current roster.

Wow, slow week for NFL news... "Manning throws to Welker in Practice" is actually a headline.  Draft can't come soon enough.

McClain signed with the Ravens. That's somewhat interesting.

Maybe in their locker room they can handle him differently. He has the talent no doubt but just a shocking attitude, if Ray was still there I'd say definitely a good sign, but maybe now just a good risky signing.

hopefully he finds guidance and gets the off-field distractions settled. Harbaugh should be able to hammer it out of him if no one in the locker room steps up.

they actually signed him? I thought it was just a work out? His vid was great but it doesnt show his skills against pressure and a defense running at him. he would be great for on-sides though.

That video is pretty impressive stuff. Kicking those consecutive ones from ?50 yards? would definitely get the interest of a few teams. With a camp and preseason behind him he could be the next legatron

Well, it has to be someone who is not-offensive, generally "feel-good" and can play to a wide audience.  Sunday Football is about the only thing worth watching on NBC.

I can't believe how the NFC West did such a 180.  What was it? 2-3 years ago when the Seahawks won the division at 7-9?

What a shocker... major violations against Oregon.  At least now we know (for sure) why Chip Kelly flip-flopped on returning before taking the Eagles' job.

Raider might have a chance with Matt Flynn and a healthy McFadden at having a winning season. The problem is that McFadden won't stay healthy...

All draft analysts have (Player A) going to the team at this pick.....so it must happen!!

They're such a waste of time and the sheer number of them on the big sports sites is ridiculous

Yet people will still click on them to see where analysts see players going. Id rather not concern myself and just deal with what a team picks afterwards. But i still welcome the discussion. Its better than not talking about the nfl at least.

At the very least the mock drafts are entertaining to read.  Also gives me some insight on players that I am not familiar with.

6 days 19 hours and 58 minutes to go....

Broncos open the NFL season on Thursday, 9/5 against the Ravens.  Time to make up for that playoff loss disaster.

Manning Bowl (Broncs vs. Giants) in Week 2.
