^ Titus Young is available.

Anquan Boldin is no slouch and Quinton Patton (4th round) might surprise a few people.  He has good size, good acceleration and is feisty.

I'm more excited to see what Jenkins and Lockette can do, and LMJ out of the backfield.

I am anti-LMJ, so I am not so excited about that.  But I do want to see what Patton can do, though "feisty" isn't a measurable quality.

Niners relied on a lot of the short dump offs to crabs to open up room for the qb run game. It also made the Kaeps job a lot easier throwing short passes. Boldin doesn't replace this, so it's a huge loss for the 49ers

Could also be an Anti-Oregon guy, like myself. Though I don't directly dislike anyone from the Oregon team, with exception to former Duck Lagarette Blount. That fools just a bit off.

Nailed it.  I am anti-Oregon to the core.

But also, I am against people who are violent against women.  And when it is athletes that our kids should look up to, that seems to make it even worse.  There is a lot unclear about his case, but the fact that it was plead down to lesser charges doesn't make me any more forgiving.  He choked his ex-girlfriend, which is a potentially lethal behavior.  The hate-Oregon part of this is that he only had to sit out 1 game against PSU or somebody not-important.

In other non-49 news...really looking forward to the Rams taking another step forward this year.  Was their 4-1-1 record in a really tough division indication of things to come or more a fluke. I think it is the former.  Still the NFC west is brutal so they will be lucky to snag a wild card but they are on the right trajectory for sure with another hit it out of the park draft (on paper anyways).

With all the media attention on SF and SEA, the Rams are flying under the radar IMO.
Like you said, they went 4-1-1 in arguably the toughest division in football (although, credit 2 of those wins to David Akers' decision to start kicking like Charlie Brown), Fisher is a great coach, and they are stacked with new draft picks.

I think Bradford is kinda like Alex Smith. With so much turmoil around him (coaches and OCs coming and going, no real weapons), he never had a chance to succeed. Now, as a Niner fan, I hope he busts big time, but I could see him turn it around this season. I'm not totally sold on the Tavon Austin pick, but I've gotta say it does intrigue me. His size is the only real issue I have with him.

Even the Cardinals should be vastly improved. They had a great defense last year, but due to the turn stile at QB, the D often was gassed by the end of games. Although Carson Palmer isn't someone I would want the Niners to pick up, he is still a second tier QB in this league, and a VAST improvement over what Arizona has put onto the field at QB in recent seasons. AZ still has Fitz, and with a decent QB he is just as dangerous as Megatron, Andre, and the rest of the top tier WRs. This division is going to be a slug fest next season.

Yeah for sure Arizona is improved as well.  As far as Akers missing field goals that is part of the game.  Being a Ram fan I have a litany of if this only if that which could dwarf the Lord of the Rings trilogy in length.  Just competing would have been enough of a feat. I would say Bradford is definitely ahead of Smith at this stage of his development compared to where Smith was at the same stage.  Bradford broke Manning's passing mark and won ROY.  He was hurt sophomore season and played pretty well last year.  But the comparison is not totally off base except I think Bradford has more pure talent than Smith.  Rams now have weapons so there are no excuses.  Givens was excellent last year as a rookie.  They picked up Cook which has a lot of talent.  Quick last year didn't do a lot because he was developing but he could still be a plus player.  And of course the two picks this year.  It is time for him to play at a much higher more consistent level.

The biggest problem is that with two great teams, one on the verge of potentially reaching that level, and a fourth who is no slouch they might all cancel each other out and only the winner will make the playoffs.

For any program, when you have a player that has done something wrong like this, there should definitely be a larger penalty than a 1 game sit. The program pretty much just told the whole world if u choke a girl, you only have to miss 1 game. So if you are ok with that then maybe your daughter needs to get choked and see if you're still ok with it after a football player only has to sit out 1 game.

I only heard about Tavon Austin but don't know who else the Rams picked up. Did they get strong picks this year cuz I'm tired of seeing them lose. My father loves them and has been a true fan his whole life. I wanna see him have something to cheer for this year

didn't take Kaepernik long to find a new "go to" target in Boldin. VD will continue to draw double teams (im guessing).

In the list of off-the-field headlines I expected to see, "Keyshawn threatens Bieber" was not one of them.

Why didn't Keyshawn do the world a favor and eliminate Bieber?

According to an online story Keyshawn chased Bieber's Ferrari while driving his Prius... wait, Keyshawn is driving a Prius?

Apparently Keyshawn blocked Beiber's driveway with his Prius to confront him about his driving but Bieber jumped out of his car and ran into the house and claims the reckless driving wasn't him but his friends all those times.

I wouldn't really call it chasing...I mean they live in the same gated community so he already knows where he lives in order to be sitting on his driveway waiting for him already.

I am no fan of Keyshawn, but I applaud him for driving a Prius.  So many ex-NFL players blow their money on 5-6 luxury cars and find themselves broke within three years of retirement.

No one should be applauded for driving a Prius.. :)) But i get your point. No sense in an arsenal of $1,000,000 worth of cars.. not like you're gonna split into multipleversions of yourself and be able to mob lol. Also Kudos just for standing up and sayin "just cuz you can afford it, doesn't mean you can be a jackass with it". :)

I just read an article about Urlacher's situation and why he parted ways with the Bears. It's a sad story to me and the Bears are whack for doing him dirty like that. I do understand it's a business but he was the name of the Bears for the longest time. That's like saying you're gonna get rid of your father, who has been loyal to you and made you who you are, just because it's business. That's a iffy situation to me

Not my orgininal thought, but I'm tired of all this "retiring as a Bear" BS out of his camp.  If any team would have given him the money he thought he deserved (he didn't), he would have bolted out of Chi-town in a heartbeat.

Any team with a young group of linebackers would have been happy to sign him to a reasonable contract.  Think of the impact he would make on the younger guys and what they would learn from him.  Lousy Bears.

What he was looking for was unreasonable though. The Bears offered him $1mil guaranteed (with bonuses that could go to $2mil) to a 34 y/o linebacker that has played tough for a long time.  he called that a "slap in the face."
Is (or I guess Was now) he worth $4mil or more?  ummm...  Ermm

EDIT: He orginally had asked for 11.5 for 2 years, so 2 for 1 year would seem like a slap to him.

If you originally were making $11.5 million and then they offer you $1 million, yes, ANYONE even you would call that a slap in the face. So I don't know what you're thinking ... but you're not obviously

Not strong enough to put them in the SB.

^not good enough to change anything for them this year.  They had less draft picks available than there were rounds.  They didn't fill all of their positions and took gambles with the positions they did fill.

I had a dream last night though that their defense was dominant.  But I think their offense really is what needs to perform consistently for them to have any shot.  They are giving JaMarcus Russell a shot, which is just novelty news.  If he gets in better shape, he might just be able to be the backup if Cutler gets hurt.

Wow.  Now, that's news.

Tebow may get a Super Bowl ring now.

Any details out yet about salary?

This is a great pickup by NE. Belichick loved him before the draft and mcdaniels loved him enough to draft him in the first round. He is gonna do some cool things there...can't wait to see.

If only 1 coach in the whole NFL can do something with Tebow it would be Belichick.  He'll turn Tebow into something useful one way or another.

Did the Bears have a strong drafting class this year?

Not strong enough to put them in the SB.

I didn't think so, but I was somehow hoping he knew something I didn't. Seems to me like they never have a strong drafting yr/class

actually fox did a good job with Tebow in Denver. it wasn't pretty, but he got them a playoff win.

New England is probably the best place for Teebs to go IMO. The "experts" are not going to be questioning whether or not he should be starting over Brady on every damn show, and the Zombie fans are going to have a tough time putting up billboards pushing for him to start.
Not to mention Belichick does the absolute minimum when answering questions.

^Ugh, I turned on ESPN this morning and the Tebow tidal wave was already in full swing.  Maybe he can do something with NE, maybe not.  But I continue to marvel at the attention he will get as a backup QB.

^I am going to avoid SportsCenter for the next week.  I actually will be kind of interested in how this materializes, but I won't want 24/7 coverage of mini-camp and so forth.  Much like how I am interested in the draft, but can't stand mock-draft season.  Let it be september already!

At least he is in a place that people won't be calling for him to start, or really play QB so long as Brady is healthy.  I say that now...but we'll see.
