    Posted: May/22/2013 at 10:22am
My gf's birthday is coming up and I want to get her an all mountain 0 or hybrid camber board.  It needs to be medium stiffness with some pop.  I'm thinking about a 152 in size.  She already has a small flexy nitro board and a stiff roxy with magnetraction for icy days.  This would be a board for the choppier sierra cement we get here in California.  Twin is preferable as she likes to ride switch.  I don't want to get her a channel board so no ics.  Right now I'm looking Rome Lo-Fi Rocker but I'd love some other recommendations.  It's hard to find a lot of info about womans boards.

Capita BOAF.

It was the #1 demoed women's board from Capita at the WWSRA demos this year and one of the most demoed boards we had at Butterbox this year. The women's version of the men's Defenders of Awesome, which has been getting extremely good reviews. Camber between your feet, with flat zones after the inserts leading to a small reverse camber kick at the tips. True twin. Girls can take it anywhere on the mountain. I would highly, highly recommend at least putting into your "short list". Girls kept coming in and raving about it, both at the shop and the demos.

Next year's graphics blow every other Capita graphic out of the water IMO, and that includes the men's boards.

If you have some more specific questions regarding it or need help finding it at a shop in NorCal, shoot me a PM.

Looks like a sweet board but I'm only finding it up to a 148.

Shit, my bad. I get all confused when talking about different model years, especially when I've been dealing with next year's product since January.

Yes, this year's BOAF only comes in a 148 as it's biggest size.

For next year, we added a 150 and a 152 to the size run. In addition to the BOAF, Jess Kimura's pro model comes out next year and it is basically an upgraded BOAF. Upgraded core construction and a sintered base differentiate it from the BOAF.

Here's next year's catalog:

A Rossignol Diva is a bitchin board.... can handle just about anything you throw at it.
Not a park board though...
If you're looking for a board for sierra cement, look no further.

I ride a Ride Canvas, it's flat camber. Mid-stiff flex. Flat camber. Ultra light and super poppy. Great edge hold. Aggressive side cut radius. Great carver.
I'm 125lbs at 5'10 on a 144...is my all-mtn mess around board. And yes I'm a dude.

My girlfriend has a Burton Deja Vu Flying V.  It's a softer twin.  She takes it off small jumps, it's pretty poppy.  Edge hold is okay.  Overall it's a decent board but there are better.

Only seeing that one in 148 as well.

I wish they'd list weights for boards.  Such an easy thing to do as well, no idea why they wouldn't do this.

l think most board are pretty light, its the bindings and boots that add most of the bulk of the weight

The board itself is the part that puts most of the torque on your knee/ankle on the chair lift.  I would love to see weights on boots and bindings too, though.

Sounds like your missus is an advanced rider. Accordingly, I would suggest more technical boards, like the Arbor Cadence and DC Ply (women's version). The Arbor Cadence, in particular, has won the Good Wood Award twice... with it's beautiful topsheet needing no introduction.

This is K2's park rocker system which is the same as on the K2 WWW that I used: 80% flat, 20% rocker. I would highly recommend this board for all-mountain to park and freestyle riders, from beginners to advanced. Excellent pop, good carving return, and excellent for sending 3's and 5's off of kickers. Its more-flat-than-reverse-camber profile locks onto my blind backside landings better than any other board I've used, it instills more confidence, and yet is flexible enough for presses and tail blocks after softening up after break-in.

I can see weight ranges given for all of their boards on Thrive's website.

the prestige is designed to ride about 3 cm longer then the length, and they actually do I know the 154 renegade feels much more like my 157 riders choice then a 154.

I'm now looking at a 2012 Rome Vinyl Rocker.  It seems to have everything I want as it's an aggressive flat cambered board and it comes in 151.  Plus it is severely discounted at this point so I can buy her some something else too and get bonus points.
