Resorts requiring leashes is mentally challenged.  What mountain/resort are you going to that requires one?

If you have an REI nearby order one online and have them ship to the store for free.  They have 2 for under $4:

^^ Sideways, you haven't been on the site long enough to hear my last rant on leashes.  In Montana, it's a state law that all snow sports participants have self arresting equipment.  Since we don't have brakes for our boards like skiiers have, we have to have leashes.

I know it's also a law in Idaho, and a few places i've been there are real leash sticklers.

It annoys the crap out of me.  There's an older guy lifty on the easy chair at my mountain that we just refer to as the leash nazi.

Speaking of the OP's problem, do they not include them anymore when you buy new bindings?

The only place I've ever ridden in the country that gives any fcks about leashes is my local mtn.. good ol Montana Snowbowl here in Missoula... I believe they get a little break on their insurance for having it in place too.. plus they send every snowboarder without one down to the rental shop to buy one.. and the liftie that sends them in gets $1 for every leash purchased... sofa king dumb... It may be state law here but it's not enforced anywhere aside from the bowl and evidently Rock Dodge down by Billings which is news to me.
MOAR powderz plz!

The reason skis have the built-in brakes is because skis can come off during a fall. And the brakes will prevent it from flying down the mountain hurting someone. But it makes no sense to have a leash on a snowboard, because snowboards don't fly off. The only time they'll come off is when we intentionally take them off, and we can intentionally put them down without having it slide down the hill. And when we do that, we release the leash. Those legislators writing this requirement into state law obviously have never ridden a snowboard.

The only place I've heard that leashes are somewhat enforced in the Tahoe area is Homewood, and even then, it's kind of hit or miss. Some of my friends weren't asked, and some were. The ones that were asked just tied a shoelace to their binding.

Sugar Bowl definitely does not require leashes.

Sugar Bowl no, but I always get told to put one on at Homewood.  The hot wax station at the bottom of the hill sells them for $5.  I do think it's a sneaky little side-business to make you go buy one.  I just leave one in the back of my car because I kept forgetting.  REI ship to store is a good suggestion.

It's annoying as hell to have to strap one on, but every now and then you see some fool chasing a runaway board down the bunny hill!

Nothing beats watching ski patrol chasing his runaway board. LOL Ah, the ride days at Blue Mountain with fj5 and jhoang6. Good times.

Or maybe it was just the workers that were on duty that did or didn't care enough to bother.  LOL  But yeah, I only see noobs chasing their boards at the Bunny Hill or the people who ride their board like a sled.
Sessions sucks hairy monkey balls, the end.

Hahaha, I love the anticipation of watching a board careen down the hill with a rider giving desperate and futile chase, wondering if it's gonna wipe out some little kid weaving along in the dragon line...

I probably hit Sugar Bowl 20 days a year and I've never been asked to wear a leash.

That shit is incredibly dangerous..

I know people who have gotten paralyzed because some moron decided it would be a good idea to ride their snowboard down the hill like a sled, lost control, and the board hit the person in the spine. Not cool. I definitely yell at people on the hill when I see them doing this.
