    Posted: Jun/20/2013 at 1:41am
the last time i used my snowboard was winter 2011-2012 after the season i tuned and waxed my board for the summer and put it away,
but the thing is i didnt end up using it during the 2012-2013 season,
do i need to re-wax my board or will it keep even thou i havent used it for so long?
would there be any reason for it to dry out and warp??

As long as it wasn't in direct sunlight or you car trunk over the summers, I think it'll be fine. The wax should keep, but I would give it a hotwax before going out next season. There's nothing in what you've said that would lead me to believe that your board would warp. I didn't use my powder board for a season, so it sat in my garage with wax for almost 2 years. No issues when I rode it this past season. However, if you board looks visibly warped, I would take it into a shop and have a professional look at it before riding it.

Of course julius responded to your request, your name intrigued him.  He figures if he shows you his Ugly Stick you will show him your pickle.

Dude, my snowboard dreams get more and more vivid as each season approaches. I would say your impatience for snow is quite normal. Usually it progresses from snowboard dreams, to watching endless boarding vids, to carpetboarding, to unncessary board maintenance, etc. I wish I could say it gets easier season after season, but I'd be lying.

julius lied, because wax is wax, it is not stuck inside your pores because it has been set for such an extended period time. Your board is as good as done

Technically there really aren't pores in the base of a snowboard.  Instead there is structure.  The wax fills the little valleys/crevices in the structure.  Hot waxing does not open pores and allow wax to fill them.
