It's looking like they're off to a good start this season, especially considering I believe they were the first mountain on the East coast to open and they've been skiing/riding since I think October 24th-ish? Today is Killington's 22nd operating day of the 2013/2014 season. Hopefully it's a good sign of things to come this season for the New England skiing/riding season! Happy trails.

That is pretty sweet to hear. I cannot wait till I go up to Killington this season. Been stuck around these crappy mountains in the Tristate, not that I'm unappreciative about it.

It's going to be raining Thursday to Saturday so hopefully there's some snow on the local mountains but I can't see right now since the clouds are covering up the view of the mountains.  I saw on my weather app a snowflake, first time ever seeing that!  LOL

I just saw that. I thought they'd be able to make some snow by now but I guess not. There's no snow in the weekly forecast either. We're not off to a good start.

Useless random thing I just noticed. Their website is now northstarcalifornia.com and not northstarattahoe.com anymore

gonna be real cold this weekend for good snow making so hopefully they open by Thanksgiving weekend.

Kirkwood received 18 inches of new snow from the storm but still not enough to open.

Loon is open right now, opened 2 weeks ago. Waterville Valley opens this weekend, and cannon is set for next friday. Going home for thanksgiving picking up the gear and going into shred mode!
It comes and it goes, get it while it lasts.

I just saw that. Guess what else... They're charging $90 for a lift ticket and 4 runs are open. That takes some huge ones.

They are making snow here in North Carolina too. But it is not really that cold. I would think it might meal faster than they can make it.

its been really cold in the east coast so I'm sure resorts are taking advantage in making snow. Hopefully they open more trails so I can do 1 early season run before college finals week

56 runs on 6 lifts Friday for me!  They're calling it the best opening day in 15 years, with a 30 inch base!

Last year they opened with 3 lifts and 7 runs (if you call the magic carpet a "lift" that is)... what a difference a year can make.

Yeah, snow is all gone now.  LOL  I actually have not gone to Baldy but for a small resort I would head to SV anyways.  I'm just waiting for more snow coverage.

^high always wants to be the first to open in socal but usually it goes down hill for them when the temps gone to shit after the first good dumpage then ends up shutting down again which happen last season and SV is a nice little resort need to go there this year.

our mtn, here in the central sierra nevada, opens this sat (12/7)...but only one run.  There's supposed to be some snow coming tomorrow, but, I don't care how deep the snow is, I still wouldn't bother for one run...been there, done that.  Probably just go surf instead.
