Nathan MacKinnon continues to dazzle, it's amazing the kid is just 18 years old.  1 G and 3 A last night in the 4-2 win over the Wild to put the Avs up 2 games to none.  Keep it rolling, young fella.

Seabrook suspended for 3 games on the Backes hit. Big loss on the blue line for the Hawks already down 2-0.

Ugly game by the Kings. You know things are bad when fourth liners are scoring on you.

Wow, what is happening to the Kings? The best defence in the regular season but have given up 17 goals in 3 games. Not looking good.

Last night was brutal...first goal for sharks was a shank that flubbed its way through 4 people and the last goal was a weak back hand that bounced of defender's stick and flubbed its way in... tough to swallow but facts are Sharks deserve to move on...

Kings played desperate, and the Sharks were sloppy, thinking they can cruise through the series. I see the Sharks taking game 5 to close it out.

MacKinnon does it again, scoring the game winner in OT to put the Avs up 3 games to 2.  Avs needed this game after losing two games on the road by 1 goal each.

Series shifts back to Minnesota on Monday, Avs need to end the series.

In the East the Bruins and Canadiens took care of business and are moving on to round 2.

Tough loss for the Stars to end the series. Ducks tied the game with 24 seconds to go in regulation, then scored in OT to win. At least Dallas made the playoffs this year...

I didnt the stars would put up that much of a fight. That late collapse reminds me of the leafs last year. All in all, it was a good series.

All I can say is the pressure the Sharks will be feeling not to choke this series will be intense. But in a way no matter what happens it might be hard to say the Sharks choked the series considering the Kings were the better team in the last 4 games....Sharks got a couple lucky bounces to win game 3.  We shall see what happens...no matter what Kings take their fans for a hell of a ride.

Pittsburgh advances to the 2nd round.  Malkin scores 3 in the 4-3 victory over the Blue Jackets.

Damned Wild buries the Avs with 3 goals (2 empty net) in the 3rd period to tie the series at 3 games each.  Deciding game is tomorrow night in Denver.

Game 7, Avs hosting the Wild... let's get this thing started!!!

I like Roy's approach to the game, he told his team to enjoy the moment.  No big "us vs. them" speeches or motivational speeches, a simple "enjoy the moment" talk with the team.

And it's over... at least for CO.  The Avs had the lead 4 times and gave it up 4 times.  The tying goal hurt, scored with just over minutes left in the game.

Overall it was a really good season for the Avs, much better than most people expected.  And things could be worse, the Avs could have blown a 3-0 series lead... ouch, San Jose...

That was a helluva good game, you just need to be a fan of good hockey to appreciate that game.  P.K. Subban scores his 2nd goal of the game in the 2nd OT for the win.

Blackhawks had no trouble beating the Wild in game 1, 5-2.  Kane and Bickell net 2 goals each, Hossa scores 1 G and 2 A.  Strong game.

Rangers edge the Pens in OT, 3-2.  Not a fan of NY but I do enjoy seeing Pittsburgh lose.

I don't give the Rangers enough credit. Beating the flyers in the first round and now takes game 1 in Pittsburgh. That St.Louis trade is looking pretty good now.

That would be fantastic result but I am not betting on that. Kings keep the magic carpet ride going by scoring with 7 seconds left and winner in OT.  Incredible hand eye coordination by Gaborik.

Laughing at the skeptics who said Gaborik would not help the Kings...they went from one of worst offensive teams to top ten since his arrival...5 goals already in playoffs and all big goals.

^ Especially when they were down 0-3 in the series with the Sharks.  Talk about hitting your stride at the right time, the Kings are doing just that.

Penguins go up 2-1 over the Rangers with their 2nd consecutive shutout.  MAF is another example of hitting your stride at the right time, he is looking really good right now.

Idk Fleury is bound to give up a crucial goal somewhere down the line. Always interesting when he comes out of the net to play the puck.

While I've said it before (MAF is the weak spot on the team and can give up tons of goals) he is playing better in this series than he has in a long time.  His positioning is spot on right now and he has some of the fastest legs in the NHL.  It's entirely possible that he gives up 6 goals the next game because he can become a head-case very quickly...

Damn, the Wild blanks my hometown Blackhawks 4-0 last night, although Chicago is still up 2-1 in the series.

Montreal goes up 2-1 on the Bruins after winning last night by a score of 4-2.

In my opinion the only reason that I would consider the Wild a true underdog is their goaltending. But if Bryzgalov is able to continue to play good then they have a very real shot at making a good run

^ agreed they are the underdog.

Kings proved that no game is a must win until you have lost 3 games but I feel comfortable saying this is a must game for the Ducks.  I think the Kings put the hammer down tonight :)

The Kings turn around is nothing short of amazing. Good to see the ducks grab an early goal tonight, I'd like to see this series go the whole hog.

Should be huge if the Habs pick up the OT win tonight - I think if they beat Boston they're a solid pick for the cup.

Boston dodged a bullet tonight with a lucky goal. Montreal took the game away in the third and probably deserved a better fate. B's are just being outmatched physically and in speed. I think the Habs have a great chance for the upset.

Hiller didn't even get the start tonight. Maybe shaking things up a bit but this could be over if Getzlaf doesn't start scoring soon.

Thought for sure Hawks in 5. The underdog story continues. Sideways must be feeling pretty nervous right now as the Wild could potentially KO both the Hawks and Avs.

^ Playoffs are not for those with weak constitutions, the Blackhawks still hold home ice advantage.  Their depth and experience will factor into the next couple games.
