Indiana is making a strong opening statement, starting 6-0.

With the Avs playing so well I can't bear to watch a Nuggets game these days.

Maybe the year Indy can knockoff the heat

That's what I'm hoping for, along with a total collapse by the Heat.

Not sure how the Lakers can put a team around Kobe to win another one before he's done. And this includes a coach that can take them all the way. I don't think D'Antoni can do it. Phil is not coming back to the Lakers. Doc just went to the Clippers. What coach can they get?

With Dr. Buss gone I guess it is fair to doubt the organization but the Lakers have a long storied history of turning teams into championship contenders quickly.  They have a boat load to spend next year so we shall see how things play out.  I am surprised they are competing without Kobe.  They would have been better off stinking it up this year to get a lottery pick but who knows maybe Henry will be a key component moving forward.  Looks like the playoffs are a distinct possibility still.

kings change their starting lineup and blow out the nets...marcus thorton shots the lights out from the bench. maybe he's just better coming off the bench. the nets have been disappointing so far this year though...

Saw a special on Chris Paul the other day...made me even more pissed about the bs nix of the trade with the Lakers.  Such a class act and wish he would have been a Laker.

I'm sick of this talk about the bulls being better without rose. This team needs to be broken up. Keep Rose, Noah, and Butler and get rid of everyone else. Make a push for melo after this season and kLove after next season. They will not win like this.

rumor is that kobe might be back for the game against the brooklyn nets the day before thanksgiving. He's gonna get limited minutes for sure. And D'antoni with his head up his ass gonna get Kobe injured again. Why didn't they fire D'antoni at the end of last season after he pretty much caused that Kobe injury

^That's a good question.

As is: Why not fire him if he can't get your team a ring?

However, management needs to work harder to build a full team.

I don't think Kobe would tank for Wiggins though. In fact, he wouldn't pass to him even if he was on the team.

players do not tank for the hope of getting a player to their team next year.  While they stink it up their livelihood is on the line.  Additionally, these guys do not get to the NBA because they like to lose.  Now you can say the organization is doing things to try and lose...trade players looking to the future etc...but saying players are tanking is nonsense imo.

On those lines I hope Kobe takes his time getting fully healthy and the Lakers end up with a chance at the Lottery...zero point in making the playoffs to exit the first round.

well last year kobe said this season would be his last. But he said that before the injury and now he wants to come back with a vengeance. Depending on if his body will continue to let him play, he's probably gonna go another season and if they don't win it all in these next 2 years, you're not gonna see a lakers championship banner hung up for a long time. Next summer free agency is interesting though

Kobe only has a couple more productive years left. So, he's going to come back as early as possible. He'll feel that he's wasting his time away if he takes his time to heal. And he hates to lose (he's the one that says 2nd place is 1st loser...) so there's no way he'll sit around and watch the Lakers lose.

The Mavericks are doing well with their new roster. Monta Ellis has been great so far, distributing the ball and not taking awlful shots. Dirk finally has a teammate that can put up points as much as, or more than him. This has spread the floor out more and everyone has a better look at the basket. Jose Calderone also brings a lot of energy to the lineup with a shootout pace for every game that benefits the Mavs sharpshooter. It would seem that their team is better this way, instead of landing Dwight during the offseason.

Well and wanting to not miss the playoffs in his last year(s), that will motivate him to come back early too, because missing the playoffs seems to be where they might be heading...though it is early. I better watch my mouth, I feel LA is about to destroy me.

Kobe needs to hang up his shoes, his body isn't what it used to be.  I don't see the Lakers winning again for a very very long time.

As far as wiggins and these rookies goes, I'm the saddest I've ever been that the Blazers are on fire.  Won't get a lottery pick...won't win in the playoffs.  Bad spot to be in, even though 10-2 is great

Apparently he has 2 options:

If Rose decides to reattach the meniscus – usually the route taken by young players – he's expected to miss the rest of the regular season. To clip off the meniscus is a riskier long-term issue, but could have Rose back in one to two months.

that statement is just ridiculous.

looks like gasol might have escaped a serious injury, turned out to be a bad sprain but no surgery is required.

Rusty Westbrook had a similar injury last year in the playoffs and missed the beginning of this year. I don't know it's such a terrible to happen to one of the only stars that's not a primadona.
