I'm interested in the Rossignol Templar Magtek snowboard, but i'm just not sure about the best size / length for me.
I narrowed down to the 155 (nose height) or 158 cm.

158 is the standard advice for my weight but I'm not so tall compared to my weight, 5.6 (170 cm) vs
172-174 lbs. Boot size 9. And I also prefer to play around all mountain in stead of
racing down the slopes. ( rental shops often gave me short boards, +/- 150 cm, just above chin height, only looking at height, i know that is the wrong but method!)

Anyone with experience with them templar magtek? And/or which size would you advice me ?

The measurement of board to chin is the incorrect method.
Is mostly weight and little to do with height.
Also your preference and riding style play a big role in choosing board size.

If you like to play around, 155 is better for you.
I've never ridden that board.

I prefer boards that are on the shorter range for my weight.

I find this to be pretty accurate...
Size calculator

Often times rental shops give beginners/new riders a shorter board is because they don't need to extra length for stability since they won't be going too fast. And a shorter board is easier to manipulate and is lighter.

Same weight, I switched from a 160 wide sierra crew to a 157 T. Rice Pro, the board just felt right from the beginning. I was immediately riding faster and shredding harder, the board does not feel short at all. Try a Lib Tech, it's a game changer especially on the Ice Coast.

I have already looked at the Lib Techs, but had some good experiences with Rossi boards, so I prefer the rossi.

But nice to hear that your shorter board felt right. But Belleayre how is your weight compared to your length ? Because that's the reason why I'm not sure about the best size...(the ratio, weight vs length).

If you like a more playful board that can handle all mountain, look into boards that have both twin flex and twin shape with a flex rating of 5 (scale of 1-10) or softer.
Reason for 155 is that you're not interested in racing down the slopes anymore. But you still can with that size.
I'm 125lbs 5'9 on a 144 zero camber true twin board. I can flat base it down the slope, but that's not the reason why I got that size.
Shorter board is a tad lighter, but the swing weight is a huge difference. Flex will be different too with the same board that are different in length to the same person.
