left my board all off season, what is the best way to clean the edges, and for next off season what is the best way to prep it to keep it from rusting again?

to avoid rust, don't store them in a place where it will rust. your living space is where they should be, rather than in an unheated garage, in a car, etc.

to get rust off, you can get a gummy stone and most of it will rub off.  if there's any that seems to be stubborn, you can either leave it or use a file in a file guide.

to avoid rusting edges next year wax your board and leave the wax on. make sure to have wax covering your edges.

hit it with a gummy stone or you could sharpen them with an edge file. when you do your off season wax next season put some wax over your edges and don't scrape off any of it. Scrape it off before your first day.
It comes and it goes, get it while it lasts.

after a day of riding make sure to leave the board out to dry instead of keeping it in the bag or throwing it in a damp closet.

also when you sharpen the edges it will take off a thin layer of the edge and should remove the rust

diamond stone gummy's make your edges round and unless you know what you're doing with a file you'll mess it up.

Make sure to dry your board and bindings off if you leave your bindings on.  Buy a gummy stone and a file and properly wax your board for storage.

If you don't wanna file down your edges yet and/or you don't wanna spend any money on a tuning job or get a gummy stone...
Use Coca-Cola with wet sandpaper or steel wool.

That's interesting, what about Pepsi?  Does that really work?

I was in awe when I was told to use that method when I used to work in an auto shop. Works like a charm every time.
I've never tried with Pepsi...next time...I'm a Coca Cola fan, so Pepsi was never even an option.lol just my preference just like a pair of bindings.
After I had used that method, I eased up on my soda consumption. I figure that if it does that to rust, what will it do to my tummy.

I find the rust doesn't affect the board much. Sure it looks ugly, but it edge-holds fine.

After a day, most of the rust is gone anyways.

Interesting... I gotta try the Coca Cola. Just got back from a multi-state road trip and my edges are rusty.

You learn something new everyday.  LOL  My boards never really had any issues with rusting though, but then again we always wiped it down afterwards or dried it off before putting it away.

it really not that hard to wipe dry your base and edge after a day of riding. do that and you won't have any rust at all. did that to the board i rode each time. no rust at all over the years and i had many boards that only rode for a day and sit in the closet for ages.
hmmm... Now What???
