I'm in the market for a pow board...these are the two i have narrowed it down to. currently i ride my jones mountain twin in pow and i like it but i feel like i can find something better. i had a charlie slasher but it was too stiff for my liking. i like softer flexing boards.

I like to ride anything when its snowing and i like to send it off natural stuff as much as possible.

my question to you guys that have ridden these boards is which one seems like it would fit my bill.

thanks in advance.

if you thought charlie was too stiff, you won't like either of these.  the hovercraft is at least as stiff, and also full camber (the nose rocker is minor, and more of a gradual curve to the tip rather than rocker), and the fish, while a very different ride, is also at least as stiff as charlie.

you won't find too many softer flexing powder boards, especially if you want something softer than charlie.  the pow snake may actually be a good suggestion as it's not stiff, but it's not a jibby park board either

look into the burton fishcuit unless the sizing-down thing is not your cup of tea.  it has filet-o-flex which thins the core and softens the board, but they engineer the fiberglass in such a way that still keeps a sturdy torsional flex, which is a big factor in how well your board holds and edge through turns.  might be along the lines of what you're looking for?  and you can trust the shape.. that thing floats awesome.

that said, the fish might work out.  the tail is pretty stiff and the main part of the board is a firm medium, but with the shape, it rides so maneuverable and nimble that it's pretty easy.  also... the thing floats like crazy.  one of my favorite boards of all time, hands down.

you could take a look at the lib tech la nina as well has an inch of set back and directional rocker, with a directional twin shape, should float really well, I personally kinda like having some kind of tail on my board for drops and stuff.  You could also take a look at the birdman if you go with the 160 it's not very stiff.

The Salomon powder snake is actually pretty soft. Big noze, small tail... float for days!
