    Posted: Jan/26/2014 at 3:49pm
Hi everyone,

Helping a friend here. He recently bought a 2014 Burton Clash with the ICS channel system. He went boarding twice so he is a beginner learning to progress faster.

1) He is interested in sticking with Burton Bindings so should he get the missions? Or Customs, Cartels? He is mainly all-mtn how since hes a beginner. Hopefully freestyle eventually.

2) He found a 2012 Mission NON-EST on sale. Will this be compatible with the ICS System? If so, will the feel be much different than if he were to get the EST version?

3. How much overhang is allowed? His Clash is 158 and he has 10.5 Burton Motos. When he places the boots with 0 angle on the board, there is 1 inch overhang each on toe and heel side. Should he get the 160W?

Thanks so much for your help!

1) it doesn't matter, he's a beginner. It's preference, which he probably doesn't have any yet.
2) there're adapter disk for non-est to attach onto ics. There'll be different in feel between est and traditional, but I have never tried, only heard of it. Don't worry about it.
3) 158 is fine.

He may want to tweedle out that binding a tinch regardless.  Even 3* will help with that overhang and put less strain on knees etc...

Also, the Missions are a solid and quality binding.  He'll be able to grow with them for a long while.

He decided last minute to get the reverse crew 159 here with union force bindings. He has 10.5 burton moto, which has shrinkage tech. Should he get m/l or l/xl? thanks!
