A group of us were riding up the chair the other day and we're talking about the first boards we rode, how beat up they were, times when we rode broken boards because we just couldn't afford a new one, etc etc... Then we started talking about all the extra/old gear we had laying collecting dust. Sure we could throw it up on ebay or craigslist... but the gear is so old that the effort isn't really worth the financial reward. The truth is there are people out there that would be so stoked to have that gear, and think about how great it would feel yourself to know you helped someone out. So, what do you think, how about we stoke out some riders??? we'll call it the good kharma club.
I for one have a Burton balance 154 in my basement that would totally work for someone not worried about having the best/newest equipment. It's 4-5years old or something, but in great shape, so if someone pays for the shipping, I'll send it to them... PM me...
So, this thread is an experiment of sorts, we'll see how it works...we're looking for your input... Maybe people could work out ways to pay for eachothers shipping (paypal) or what not... Edited by airik - Feb/20/2007 at 12:29pm |

I got a pair of Burton motos that are in pretty good shape, and would work fine for somebody on the beginner end of things.
I got an old nitro hazard 151? 153? somewhere too. Might be back at my parent's house though. Definately in good shape - although it's like a '98 model.
Also have a pair of old (03) Drake f-50s layin around. Again, not top of the line, but for somebody who likes softer bindings, they'd definately do the trick. (light as hell too)
Can prolly dig up some old goggles, pants, maybe even a jacket or two as well. There's all sorts of crap in my closet.
All in all, this is a really good idea. Pretty psyched about it.

this is a cool idea, great way to either get stuff for cheap or to get rid of things.
Maybe if it catches on some sticky threads for specific things like boards, boots and bindings.
Payment is an iffy thing, PayPal is good, at a price. But I'm sure that most of us we wouldn't pull a fast one, but to be safe you never know

Haha, this makes me think of my friend who just started snowboarding, he is using a pair of boots from 2000 and some strap binding (I dont even think there is a brand name recongnizable on them) that one of them is stripped and randomly comes undone while he is riding. It doesnt stop him though, 4th time out and he hit a jump and a rail.
