I don't know if anybody is going to care but I buy and sell a lot on other forums (mainly computer forums). I a big computer enthusiast but anyway we have a feedback system there based on www.heatware.com.

If somebody from sierrasnowboard contacts them, we could get our own category and members could sign up with an account and start receiving/giving feedback for their sales.

It's a proven system and it will work..

http://www.heatware.com

just a thought! ..

Can we sell ski stuff here? or is there a specific place for that?

I've got some big boy boots to sell (mondo 30.5-31)
I ride skiboards. Revel8 Condor 110cm & Revel8 ALP 110cm.

I've seen another forum vouch for people by usernames in a giant thread.
Then you can search thru the thread by username to see if they are reputable.  Especially if you see them come in more than once in the giant thread.

Just an idea.

I think giving instuctions on how to set up paypal may be a great idea, just so payment can be made more easily.

I don't know how complex it would be to set up a system like this but.

I was a moderator on a sneaker website where there was a sellers forum in which each individual item was listed for sale.

Separate from that forum was an agreement forum where the transaction is set between the buyer and seller.  Once the transaction was completed, the buyer and seller was able to leave feedback for one another and a feedback grade was left under the users info under their handle.

You could click on that number and see how many transactions were positive or negative and how the transaction went as a buyer or seller on the forum.

eBay accounts are usually a good thing to check out, but they need to be verified too.

I just had a thought & it didn't even hurt.

Only a suggestion here (are ya sitting down?):
Sierra somehow make a new department called '2nd's Sales' or something to the effect of, where a team of 1 or 2 Sierra staff dedicated to co-ordinating the selling & buying of 2nd's snowboard/ski gears, equipment & the like.
Sierra would act as the middle man, where they verify the Sellers somehow, then also verify the Buyers somehow, then perhaps make a 5-10% commission based on whatever the product sold for?
I'd be willing to pay Sierra a % fee for peace of mind knowing that the Seller/Buyer is geniune, & Sierra would need something to cover their costs on labour of the Co-ordinators....
As I mentioned, it's only a suggestion :)

Additionally, this would give Sierra more control obviously too

But seems there is so many things need to be consider...

shipping/payment/...

And there is already an ebay, why we need to make it here?

Hoon, Jeffsosavvy, and Gsrr(sp?) have good ideas, especially Hoon's basic principles for posting.

It does not have to be like an e-bay but feedback posting to a seller profile would be a good start.  This would allow a basic rating system.  I do see some times things I want to buy but really don't go for them because don't know who I am dealing with.

why not just advertise your product here and then have an ad on ebay. Or once you work out a deal between buyer and seller, get the seller to make an ad on ebay and get the buyer to Buy it now...

1.) Pictures are worth 1000 words.

2.) some sort of form which outlines the necessary info in a ordered and easy to read manner Smile

3.) Ebay would be the easiest and most reliable option (only downside are fees, which are worth paying for buyer and seller protection)

Hey guys, new here, but have a couple thoughts. Pix and honest descriptions are key. Ebay and Paypal fees are a joke, but going through Paypal helps take some of the worry out of it. Links to the sellers ebay name helps to provide previous feedback, or links to other information about the seller would help to install trust-esp is seller needed to be 'tracked down'.

We should have our own "Snowboarding FS(for sale)/FT(for trade)/WTB(wanting to buy)/WTTF(willing to trade for) Forum".

We should have a feedback page for good trades and a feedback page for bad trades. People would have to describe why it was a good or bad trade with words such as "Good communication, fast payment" and "never received item, item not as described." If its a good trade, +1. If its a bad trade, -1. Simple as that.

People should post pictures of all items after describing them. People can use paypal, money orders, checks, and cash, as well as other snowboard/skiing items that person may have.

That's pretty much how it goes down on lacrosseforums.com. Its a good reference to starting a "FS/FT/WTB/WTTF Forum" if you guys need it for any reason.

This is a link to their rule page: Lacrosseforums' Rules

And here is a link to how they recommend trades should go down: Lacrosseforums' Recommendations

And here are both the links to their feedback pages:

Good Feedback Page

Bad Feedback Page
