thats only for people who dont frequent the forum much. like i said i probably knew the answers to half of the questions, so i would only need to find answers for 5 questions. 1 min/question. thats a long time. and if you had cheatsheets (it would only be smart to), then it should not even take that long. i am not sure if she had any help but i seriously doubt it. i mean if they wanted to rig it, they could have done it differently. and so what if she had an advantage cuz she knew the people who worked there, should we get pissed off at those who made cheatsheets cuz that gave them more of an advantage?

sucks that this whole thing got her to leave, mega B seemed alright.

i hope all the drama we have been having with the giveaways wont deter the seirra crew from future giveaways. keep up the good work guys, the forums are getting better and better.

thanks Pete,

the giveaways defiantly will continue, thanks to all your support.  Each week you will have noticed that we experiment with new ways to host the giveaway, and in every instance all changes have come from user input.  The original pin the tail on the donkey concept came about while trying to come up with a completely unbiased legitz winner.  From there we advanced it so more active users benefit.   Next week we are either going to incorporate the video games from our new game section (who ever gets high score, configure it so the game reports high score just like any video arcade game) or go back to the square game where you have to be online to win.

The giveaways require a lot of extra effort from our already hard working instore and online staff.  The result of the site today (personal product right ups, photo shopped picts of product , product videos, resort reports etc) are all direct results of our riders and skiers putting in a hard off-season.  Now that the official first snow has fallen in Tahoe and the crisp air welcomes the new day, things have gotten a little crazy around here with product arriving and the internet exploding.  The drama you speak of defiantly effects us, but it’s part of life when you create an environment like this.  We feel/hope our users will be able to judge for themselves whether or not a user has their own personal agenda and will speak up for us.

What we've built here comes from the heart of our riders and that’s important to remember when playing around on here.  This company is rider owned and operated, there are NO advertisements on the site, yes we sell snowboards, but that's cause it's what we love and know.  So when users question us they are not questioning a bunch of suits or computer geeks, they’re questioning snowboarders working to make the best site for snowboarding.

We’ve got the entire Forum Snowboarding team in the store and on the site next week, so I have to figure out how to get a live cam feed set up so you guys can ask them live questions via the internet.  Plus we want to stream you the THAT Forum movie.

See you online!

Some of you moderators should lock topics so things don't get out of hand.. i don't mean to be a priss, but it's not good karma. Right or wrong, this is a place for snowboarding enthusiasts.. not to debate over who is right or wrong..

Though the top score does sound interesting, I think the best opportunity is to have the contest within an hour, say from 6pm-7pm.. Start a thread at that time and ask ppl to post "SUBMIT ME IN THE DRAWING"... after five minutes, close it.. those dedicated enough to wait around to post during that open door time frame, deserve to be put in a lottery and a winner will be picked from those waiting patiently.. that way it doesn't involve skill or knowledge, just fair random choosing. of course that doesn't answer the question of ppl creating multiple accounts and posting in the thread.. possibly have ppl pm their addresses to you or check by IP? Come to think of it, most online contests are handled by ppl registering and submitting their email/home addresses to a website, and one is chosen (all the while factoring the risk of having multiple submissions)

You're probably right. I'm going on what I knew about the questions and answers (which was nothing). I'm all for the idea of taking notes, cheatsheets, ect.. but all I'm saying is that it was over really quick. I think the Sierra crew is doing an amazing job of running the giveaways and being creative with the ideas for winning too. I'm not trying to play the role of the bad guy. I just think it being over so quick was a little odd. But odd or not, she won... so, congrats to her. It was an impressive win.
I break balls.

support my other idea of having a lottery ppl!!!! it's only fair and i'm all about being impartial and giving everyone a chance, even those who are new to the community.. just like the MegaMillions, ppl can be putting $100+ everyday trying to win the lotto, and this one joe schmo can decide to haphazardly put $1 in a $200 million jackpot and win it... can't complain cause it's a lottery... random chance of winning for all...
