I'd keep the Burn, personally (I bought one myself).  Depends on whether you're looking for something a bit more playful or something a bit more aggressive.  The 07 Finch is probably the burliest board I've ever ridden... fun board when I got it going, but at slower speeds I had to muscle it around quite a bit.

For anyone who's interested, those Burton Ruler LTD's are not nearly as ugly as they look.  Definitely not ugly enough to warranty a $120 reduction.

Soft as freaking hell though.

I may just keep the damn thing.  I got it cheap enough that i wouldn't feel that bad about only pulling it out for pow days... depends on what kind of winter we're having come November/December, and also if there's something I really want that I'd like to use the extra money for.

Yea, thanks for catching that.  FREESTYLE LTDs not Rule LTDs.  Not an attractive boot by any means, but definitely not as bad as it looks in early pictures and grand larceny at the price.

Just got my Burn yesterday after nearly a week of trouble with UPS... very excited.  Did some short carpet boarding today... surprised at how stiff it is in the tips.  Seems to have a bit more give between the bindings than the special, but less in the tips.  We'll see how I like it.  Definitely super excited.

Man Bruizza, I don't know how you ride in those things all-mountain.  I have 'em as a pair of backup boots and I think my ankles would be in some serious pain if I was shredding in those things all around the resort.

Also, how do you wear your sneakers?  I tend to wear mine a little big, I feel them slip sliding around around when I walk (not enough to screw around with my traction or ability to run though), just because it's a bitch to get my feet in otherwise.

When I first bought my Rulers they were INSANE tight.  Like I didn't think I could ride them tight.  After heat molding them, they feel a little tight, should be perfect after a few days riding... just trying to gauge if I need to size down again.

Sounds good BFBF.  Kimchi I wear my sneaks a little loose as well.  I am going to pick up some stiffer boots for this season as well but I couldn't pass up getting another pair for $29.  Plus I am awesome which is why I can wear them for all mountain.

i think he is referring to the inner layer (elastic layer), that keeps snow out of your boots.. that would be a pain in the butt if you had to stretch that over your boot AND highback every time....

A good point made though about the inner leg pant though. My response would be, Burton has put the grip lower by the ankle since the pant leg doesn't exactly need to go that low, but just cover the opening of the boot.

when i was talking to the rep at the burton hq, she was showing me how it interlocks in place...as i tried to take the boot out, it was a bit hard to get the boot out of the binding, so i guess it does it's job as far as preventing heel lift while strapped in.

i was referring to the back of the boot against the highback of the binding... the gaiter would not reach as low as where the grippy stuff is

my gaiters on my pants for down to my ankles....they dont just stop at my boot

they go down to my ankle and a hook attaches to a lace on my boot
