Hi guys, I had bought last year's Burton Vapor as it was on sale and I liked the design of the blue demon on the front rather than this year's graphics. I also bought it because it is the lightest board on the market. I was wondering if there were any major differences, or any differences other the graphics design of the 2006 and the 2007 Burton Vapor since I couldn't find this info after hunting all over the net. thanks!
P.S.: If anyone could recommend me some good boots to go with this board that would be great. I have the 2006 Cartels mounted on them right now and I know boots is so much by personal preference but a rough guideline as to what kind of Boot is really comfy like Ion or SL9 would help me with my decision. I am into the fast lace system where you either pull the strings to tighten or the bowa system. Thankyou |

thanks Mike.M yah, i didnt want to go with C02 as they would be too damn stiff for me and prob. a lot of pplr and that would not be enjoyable if you were doing pipes and stuff off the vapor. i hope both of us are right about it being the same other than the graphics cuz i was getting some unconfirmed info about the topsheet of the 2007 vapor having a vaporskin, making it lighter than the 2006 vapor model. can anyone confirm this? does the 2006 burton vapor have a topsheet that is vaporskin or is that part diff. from the 2007 model? thanks.
btw, im probably going with either last yr's sl9 or this year's Ion. still having some trouble deciding. haha ![]() |

Both the 2006 and have Vapor skin.
The 2007 has pro tip, a slightly different sidecut (slighly more radial), the default stance is up a half an inch (setback is 12.5 vs 25 on the 06) and is very slightly softer overall as a board. I have a lot of time on both and actually prefer my 06 which I ended up buying. Though they are both AMAZING boards to ride. The differences are very subtle though. I like a bi of stiffness in boards, and its still softer overall than somethign like a custom in my opinion. SL9's for boots baby! I rock mine with all three bindings sometimes (I have C60's, C02's, and Cartels) I would say I actually most prefer the C60's on the board, but everyone has their own preference. |

thanks man for the good insite. i was worried at first that the
new board is a lot better than the old one... i love the old design and
that's why i went with the old design. thanks again! btw
pplr, i have a men's size 4.5 (22.4 cm), my feet are so damn small..
crap. burton boots is definitely out of the question. i always
buy one size too big every yr and i get blisters but this yr after
buying a good board and cartel for the vapor, i want to spend money for
something that fits. i am getting recommendation for salomon
stuff cuz they fit smaller and i don't need to buy a kid's boot which
would be really crappy with my current setup. the only thing that
i think will fit is the salomon f24 size 23 which is a men's size 5 or
22.9cm but i think they should fit 4.5 which is 22.4 cm and sizes
are running out:

anyone told about this site or the boot? i want something that is very comfy, not too stiff cuz i am not a pro rider. aqnd if that boot does not actually fit smaller and it is 0.5cm bigger than the actual size of my foot, will that be ok? thanks all! i really need to get a boot soon b4 all my size runs out. |

shaka gave you the stat breakdown.
i personally liked the 06 better than the 07. the pro-tip (as shaka said) lightens up the whole thing and softens it up at the tip and tail. makes it slightly more freestyle oriented (also reflected in the reference stance change). buuuuuuut, i think the 06 is more the all mountain rocker. you'll be super stoked. co2's or cartels are a great choice. i was running cartels with mine. SL-9's or ions if you want Speed Lacing. i personally am a Sab man when it comes to burton boots. |

shakazulu12 was right about the 2006 and 2007 models having the vapor skin.. somebody probably misread what it said in 2007's catalog about the vapor having vaporskin in addition to 2 more boards for this season (i forgot the two additional burton boards that also have it now).

The Custom X and Baron ES both got vapor skin this year in addition to the Vapor. I think there were some additional Series 13 boards that got it, but I haven't really poked around the site much. |
