It’s no secret that women are different than men and we have unique needs when it comes to snowboarding equipment. K2 strongly embraces the challenge of catering to women’s specific needs with their creation of the K2 Alliance Team.
Composed of six femme members, the Alliance team is headed up by Gretchen Bleiler and Leanne Pelosi. However, not all of us girls ride like Gretchen and Leanne, so the rest of the team includes ladies of all skill and styles. The girls have a huge impact on the design, technology, and progression of K2’s women’s product.

This season is the 3rd collection of Alliance Approved gear. With women specific constructions and a partnership with breast cancer research, K2’s 2008 collection is shaping the future of women in shredding.
K2 is one of the only companies to actually dedicate a specific core construction to the ladies. K2 women’s snowboards feature the Rhythm Core; and is now available in three different configurations so you can find the right tech for your style of riding.
The K2 Duchess Snowboard features the Rhythm superlight core, a mix of the best performing and lightest weight core with honeykomb. Gretchen Bleiler’s pro model snowboard, The K2 Mix, is a stronger and lighter core with two strips of honeycomb. While the K2 Luna Snowboard and the K2 Vavavoom Snowboard (Leanne Pelosi’s snowboard) feature a 3 wood species core designed to ensure easy turn initiation with control, predictability, and stability. More info on tech construction and riding styles of women’s snowboards is available in our women’s gear section.

Get the perfect fit with women’s bindings from K2. The new women’s A-line Chassis is one of the Alliance Approved tech features of the new 2008 K2 women’s binding collection. It’s anatomically shaped to fit women’s boots better, providing a seamless fit with optimal response and comfort. The women’s Flair Frame highback is another Alliance driven technology. It is completely tailored for our riding style with a lightweight ergonomic shape.
The K2 women’s Cinch Cameo binding and the K2 Cinch Debut binding combine the best of both worlds with the performance of a strap binding and the convenience of a step in binding. For a traditional strap binding with tons of response and lightweight tech, look no further than the K2 Virtue binding (matches perfectly with the Vavavoom, Mix and the Duchess). The best binding for the chica on a budget is the K2 Charm binding. At only $99, you still get some of the best features found in other companies high-end bindings. Check out our women’s gear section for more details on all women’s snowboard bindings.

Tested and refined by the K2 Alliance Team is the 2008 K2 Women’s Boot Collection. With a women’s specific last that is directly proportionate to our legs, arches, and heels this season’s K2 women’s boots have an amazing fit. All K2 snowboard boots are heat moldable to ensure that custom fit feel.
Dominate the entire mountain in the K2 Secret boot, with a BOA laced liner and the adjustability of a traditional lacing system on the shell. The K2 Secret offers the most performance in the collection (pair them up with the K2 Virtue bindings). For convenience and comfort, check out the K2 Haven Boa Boot (fits great with the K2 Cinch Debut binding). With Boa lacing you get a precise fit without getting cold fingers. For the ladies not willing to sacrifice fashion and function for the price, the K2 Mink Boot (perfectly priced and matched with the K2 Charm binding) is back in 2008 with a super comfy liner and soft exterior laces.

Not only is the K2 Alliance team dedicated to creating the best women specific snowboard product, they are out there benefiting all of us women in general. A portion of all K2 women specific snowboards is donated to Breast Cancer Research. It makes snowboarding that much more fun when you know that it’s going to a good cause. Yeah K2 Alliance team!
