Shaun White amazed us all at the 2008 Winter X Games Superpipe Final. Things were not looking up initially for the Flying Californian Tomato. A brief brush of disappointment and an ugly Bronze metal were the result of a third place finish in the slope style competition in which Shaun White’s Burton Snowboard called it quits early. White, a fierce competitor was motivated by his bronze and developed a stronger thirst for a Gold metal. White pushed Snowboarding beyond what was thought to be humanly possible and threw down a SuperPipe run that scored a 96.66. Shaun White earned the illusive 2008 Winter X Games Gold Metal he deserved.
