2009 Gear Exposed at X-Games 12

Winter X-Games 12 lived up to all expectations of phenomenal snowboarding and we were all psyched to get a sneak peak of next year’s gear. Here’s a look at what the pros are rockin’ for 2009.

In case you missed it, Kevin Pearce’s Burton jacket was hotter than his slopestyle run. But we’d give him the gold for most insane outerwear. The Launch Jacket from Burton got just as much props as KP’s double medal win. Burton’s Launch Jacket in the signature light camo print features a 5,000mm/5,000gm waterproof / breathability rating and an uber 900 on the style scale. The Launch has all the necessities for snowboarding like pit zips, pass pockets, key clips, and goggle pockets. With Burton’s ALS lining, critically taped seams, and durable durashell fabric, this jacket utilizes different materials in different zones to keep your body warm and dry. Kevin Pearce rocks the Burton Launch Snowboard Jacket.

Kevin Pearce and Torstein Horgmo battled for big air gold and somehow managed to not blind the judges. Horgmo’s switch backside 12 looked even better with his DC Azusa jacket. DC outerwear made it’s debut last year and with the addition of snowboard hardgoods this year, they might be as unstoppable as Horgmo. The Azusa snowboard jacket from DC is a 2 layer jacket with fully taped seams. That means the Azusa is packing 15000mm of waterproof awesomeness. The DC Azusa also features all the necesities like media pockets, powder skirt, removable hood, and a bonus head gaiter. Be like Torstein and embrace the DC Azusa Jacket.

You always have to look to the Burton ladies to keep us up to date with the latest in snowboard fashion. I think Elena and Kelly are hugging here just so they can get their jackets together for a pretty explosion. Kelly is no stranger to gold and even though she’s sporting a bronze medal this year her outerwear takes number one. Don’t be surprised to see an array of gold snowboard jackets and pants from Burton women outerwear’s line up. Kelly is rocking the Burton Command Jacket in Gold / Black Labryinth. This jacket is rad because it has a removable zip-in vest. Customize your warmth and stay dry even in the northwest with the Burton Command snowboard jacket . The Command features a 2 layer, fully taped twill fabric with a 15,000mm/ 10,000gm waterproof/breathable rating. Plus the Burton Command Jacket has all the goodies you need like sound pockets, goggle pocket, pow skirt, and pass pocket. Go for gold! Seriously.

While Elena might not have impressed the judges this time around, we sure were stoked on her steeze. Check her out here in the Burton Society Jacket. If you haven’t guessed it by now, color is a huge theme for 2009 outerwear. The Burton Society Snowboard Jacket comes in such a delightful rainbow it will be hard to narrow down your choice. Our favorite is Elena’s favorite, the Multi Polka Square Burton Society. Look cute, stay warm, stay dry.

If you don’t have a lot of cash and still want to get the Pro Shred style, you can always pick up a sharpie at the mini mart and get yourself a nice soul patch. That’s right ladies, a sneak peak at 2009 snowboard trends shows us that markered mustaches are a new fashion must. But if you need something a little more technical check out Leanne Pelosi’s jacket from Bonfire. Due to her personal request, Bonfire whipped up an exceptional longer length gore-tex jacket. The Bonfire Athena Snowboard Jacket is the best blend of gore-tex and fashion. Longer lengthed jackets are definitely the trend for 2009 and for the Athena jacket is following suit. Constructed from 2 layer gore-tex and embossed with the Bees and Keys print the Bonfire Athena jacket ranks in as one of the most waterproof/breathable jackets out there for 2009. Other features include, micro fleece lining, waist gaiter, and pass pocket. Ditch the mustache and get a Bonfire Athena Snowboard Jacket.
