2009 Bonfire Outerwear

Our beloved local snowboard outerwear company, Bonfire Outerwear has done it again with outstandingly technical and stylish pieces for the 2009 snowboard season. Bonfire has built relationships with riders, artists and retailers throughout the globe to develop unique products for unique people. For almost 20 years, Bonfire has provided every rider with authentic protection, comfort and technology so you can ride longer. Bonfire is a company of riders and has been inventing innovative features since day one. From the school house rail jib, to the Alaskan steeps or just doing laps on the chair, Bonfire products make riding better. Take a look at some of the 2009 Bonfire kits TruSnow will be offering this upcoming season.

One kit that I’m truly feeling this year is the Baker Jacket in Granite with the Radiant Pant in Brick. Like the rest of the line, these pieces have the exceptional tailored snowboard fit with over-sized collars on the jackets that actually provide protection from the elements and keep your face comfortable while riding; to the inner thigh vents and internal Lycra boot gaiters that keep you cool and on lock. With so many good kits to choose from, I didn’t know where to turn. The Chroma Jacket in the Olive Bee Stripe Print looks amazing! The “green printed plain weave fabric” has a nice velvety sheen to it. Pair this bad boy up with some Stone colored Particle Pants or a tried and true traditional Black pant, and you’re on your way. The Bonfire Volt Jacket in Sapphire blue will have heads turning when matched up with the Zodiac pant in Black large herringbone weave. It’s a great solution to the ever popular “denim” look that seams to be flooding the snowboard scene right now. Although, these have a bit more weight to them the denims, they will be plenty durable for years to come. Some standard features to mention about all Bonfire Jackets and Bonfire Pants are: All jackets come with fine tune hood adjusts, snap-tite system (interface to the pants), E.G.O pocket with audio routing, pass pocket, mesh backed vents and fleece collars. All pants come with the snap-tite system (interface to jackets), reinforced belt loops, gaiter tool pocket, mesh backed vents and fleece at the seat and knees.

Continuing on with more Bonfire Outerwear that are going to be heavy hitters this year are the Men’s Bonfire Zodiac Jacket and in the Women’s line the Endless Jacket in Sky Blue. These two coats will not be overlooked due to their technical features and fashion forward appeal. The Zodiac Jacket comes in at 15k waterproofing/10,000g breathability and a large herringbone weave fabric. The lime green color (shown above) is definitely something to check out. And I’m not even a fan of green! I’ll tell you what I’m a fan of though, is the smooth silhouette of the Women’s Endless Jacket in the shimmering Sky Blue color way. Ladies, this will make you look like a rockstar on hill when kitted up with the Bonfire Endless Pant in Black. These two pieces feature a stretch satin twill weave (grrr tiger), 15k waterproofing/10,000g breathability and a tricot fleece lining. You’ll never want to ride in anything else unless you’re tired of fighting the boys off with a stick!

I wish we had more of what the 2009 Bonfire Outerwear line has to offer, but just like you, we’ll have to wait!

Joanna Dzierzawski Wins Cricket Campus Rail Jam Tour - Reno

Excerpt from Ride’s site:

Ah to Reno, a great place to visit….if you are looking for a great time at half the cost of Las Vegas. This old west town has a lot of things to be proud of. It is the divorce capital of the US, home to the National Bowling Stadium which boasts over 100 lanes and is home to the Nugget $5 Awful, Awful burger which weighs 3lbs and comes with 2lbs of french fries.

This town is also very proud of its University, UNR, and for good reason as they showcased the region’s top riders on Saturday night as the 9th host of the 2008 Cricket Campus Rail Jam Tour. Located only a 5 minute drive down Virginia Avenue from Reno’s major casinos, the brand new Joe Crowley Student Union Building made the perfect venue for a top tier rider performance.

Over 250 riders and skiers submitted their applications for this event, 100 were approved and only 60 spots were available for riders to compete. Needless to say, first serve for rider registration at the Cricket Wireless registration booth created some pre-event excitement. This excitement became focused on riding when the tag team of DJ Wicky and MC Chimpy T took the stage and called the riders out to show if they could compete with the rest of the talent in the west.

The top female and Ride AM Team rider Joanna Dzierzawski showed her style with a solid frontside 180 on backside 180 off of the box and the top skier Trent Palmer threw down a solid 270 on opp out 270 on the kink to remind the judges that he would be a force at the finals in Portland, OR on May 23rd.
