10/1/2010 10:49:14 AM Sierra should totally do this. BYU's Physics department website has an easter egg. Go and enter the Contra code and wait for the game to load. It's TOTALLY WORTH IT. Go to http://www.physics.byu.edu/ & press up, up. down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a (during game z jumps, x dashes.) The music adds to the ambiance =D.
9/24/2010 3:06:57 PM http://www.psfk.com/2010/09/mobile-connected-snowboards-turn-extreme-sports-into-a-game.html Mobile-Connected Snowboards Turn Extreme Sports Into A GameShareSEPTEMBER 23, 2010Beginning in 2009, Nokia’s Push project has been working on a small scale to integrate sensors onto skateboards, collecting motion data about tricks and movements the skater is making while riding. Running on a platform built byHyper London, this data is pushed wirelessly to a Nokia phone carried by the rider, where individual tricks are collected, analyzed, scored, and potentially tracked onto a game-like interface. Nokia is now working with Burton Snowboards to produce this platform on a larger scale to turn snowboarding sessions into connected games.Nokia explains the project below:Nokia Push will be collaborating with the world’s biggest snowboarding company, Burton Snowboards, to create a new type of connected snowboarding. Work has already started between Nokia and Burton, and the collaboration will be run in the spirit of the Push project – transparently, and openly in beta. Throughout this time, regular videos will be published here detailing our progress so far, and counting down to our alpha launch at next year’s Burton Euro Open in January.Watch a video explanation of the project below:Nokia Push BurtonHyper London
6/18/2010 2:31:21 PM http://www.logodesignlove.com/quiksilver-logo-design Accidental design, flawed to success“I was working for Quiksilver as a tee shirt designer.” Said Dean Bradley. “In the building late one night I began to hand-write the company name. Unfortunately in the script I liked most the letters “ver” were horrible. So I went to the font that never let’s me down (Helvetica Neue) and used it at the end, creating a syllable-tempo logo. Quik, Sil, Ver with the “ver” set in type, and the rest in hand.“It was the best selling font for the company for three years, on all products, and was fun to watch accepted by the masses.“A once in a lifetime accidental design, flawed to success.”
5/21/2010 12:36:30 PM Skeptical at first, figured the parents would just point her and have her go down the slopes but she understands heel side turns! Now if she can toe-side... DAMN! Props! And dude, she has style... already. [FLASH WIDTH=640 HEIGHT=360]http://sports.todaysbigthing.com/betamax/betamax.swf?item_id=3448&fullscreen=1[/FLASH]
3/10/2010 5:17:52 PM http://mashable.com/2010/03/09/tron-legacy-trailer It's not Youtube so I'm not sure how to embed. You guys will just have to click through. This was the trailer shown before Alice in Wonderland, though it's obviously not in 3D now =P.
3/1/2010 5:36:05 PM FS: IS Forma Slick Hippie Goggles NIB for $50 shipped (MSRP: $125). Love the look of them but I prefer more peripheral vision. Add some sleek style to your riding get up with the IS Design Slick Series Goggles. The helmet-compatible Slick Series goggle features comfortable triple layer face foam, R-Tex mesh, and a pivoting strap attachment pin for a more precise comfort fit. IS Design's advanced DSDT (Down and Side Draft Technology) creates a venting system to keep your vision fog-free. The Slick Series comes equipped with black mirror violet spherical lenses for optimum vision on bluebird days.
3/1/2010 4:23:25 PM Zeal Optics Eclipse SPX Goggles Spherical ZB Polarized NIB for $100 shipped OBO. Ordered these online recently and realized they don't fit my face very well. Slight gap at the bridge of the nose. New in box. The Zeal Optics® Eclipse™ SPX spherical ZB-polarized goggles deliver high-contrast visibility and a great fit. They feature a permanent anti-fog treatment that requires no wiping; they are designed to have the largest unobstructed view of any helmet-compatible goggle. The Eclipse series goggle from Zeal is their best selling helmet compatible full vision goggle and there are many reasons for that. The lenses are fog free for the life of the goggle. The anti fog is actually infused into the inner lens making it last for what Zeal claims the life of the product. The polarization in this goggle offers 100% U.V protection and reduces glare, eye strain and enhances vision. Anyone who has tried polarized lenses in goggles or glasses will tell you, it's like life in high definition! Zeal also offers a lifetime warranty against any defect from the factory but more importantly they offer a special crash replacement deal. This crash replacement deal offers a customer a new pair of Zeal's 1/2 off no matter what happened to your old ones, scratched lens, ran over by a truck, new puppy, etc. They just ask you send in the old ones or pieces of the old ones.http://www.zealoptics.com/goggle-details.php?carXML=goggles_all&detail=eclipse&m=1&s=1 Sticking with the Dragon Maces / IS Type-R's from here on out. Though the Spy Zeds that MiguelMas lent me were a pretty damn good fit.
2/17/2010 8:32:48 PM Anyone have information on the U.S. gloves rocked by the halfpipe team? They form the U.S. Flag when you put the palms together. Reminded me of the Nike football gloves, especially the awesome Florida gloves:
2/15/2010 7:40:40 AM Hey guys! Going to get my cousin into snowboarding while I'm out in Portland. Giving him my old Ride DH and P1 Carbons but the left highback snapped. Anyone know where I can get a replacement that is compatible or happen to have one handy? Heck, I'll take a left large binding too if anyone has it handy! Now I just need to find the big guy some boots. Thanks!
2/13/2010 12:39:44 PM Has anyone had any experience with Ride outerwear? I think I read a review once which said their stuff wasn't very durable. Just wondering about their new jackets with the subway color changing prints. I know, it's cheesy, not functional but I think it's kinda cool. Would be awesome to incorporate it into future masks. Anyway, I haven't been keeping up with outerwear (ever) but reading through the Ride catalog the other day the color changing prints stood out. http://ridesnowboards.com/technology/cappel-outerwear-fabricsSUBWAY COLD CHANGING PRINT 100% POLYESTERA revolutionary print that changes right before your eyes! Once you hit 32ºF/0ºC the light gray print changes to a shade of black and the black Kanji writing disappears and is replaced by red. This is one print that will surely stand out from the rest. Light gray? Looks green to me: On the Ride site http://ridesnowboards.com/cappel/wellington-jacket, it looks much better, thought maybe that's how it looks after the color change, but Ride describes the color change as black with red writing.
10/30/2009 8:08:43 PM Is there a men's model? Not sure why it says womens in your product title since it's a unisex goggle... or so I thought. Just think you guys should edit the product description otherwise it might turn off some consumers who don't know better. Search is also acting weird. I was searching for Smith helmets, one search didn't turn up the 2010 Holt (but it did turn up the older Holt Jr. / Holt Youth). While another search turned up the 2010 Holt. Forgot what my search parameters were but it couldn't have been too different... dcdomain2009-10-30 20:22:53
9/30/2009 2:04:06 PM Hey Portland heads I'll be heading to Portland this weekend for two weeks, staying with family (who I've never met). Just wanted to take a look around and hopefully move out there permanently. Anyone up for meeting up for dinner? What local spots should I check out that isn't in the guidebooks? I don't drink so yes I'll be missing out on some of Portland's local brews...
9/24/2009 7:27:40 PM Did you guys see this? Cracked me up! And some other ones, but not as funny.
9/22/2009 7:48:00 AM I'm selling a pair of lightly used Cartel ESTs in the Magenta Madness color way. They were used five days at most, still looks pristine. They are in the hard to find medium size and instead of the SensoryBed they come with the CantBed in the Inmate Orange color way as seen in the photos below. Price is $135 shipped firm. If you want to do the transaction in person in NYC I can drop it down to $125. Giving this another week, if there aren't any takers I'm trading them.
9/12/2009 10:00:39 AM http://broblog.snowbroader.eu/2009/08/26/burton-teaser-week-just-started-1-the-bail-teaser/ I'm digging the concept of the teasers, the first one, Bail hurts... who was the rider that came up short on that huge jump?
