1/23/2007 5:17:14 PM This looks like something out of GI Joe. How badass would you feel hauling ass all over the mountain on this thing rather than a regular snowmobile? http://www.popsci.com/popsci/whatsnew/5fa21e6759a4c010vgnvcm1000004eecbccdrcrd.html Still a concept though:
1/22/2007 2:18:05 PM Thought some of you might be interested in this thread over at MeetUp.com: http://snowboard.meetup.com/38/boards/view/viewthread?thread=2631214 Now to wait around so all the photos get posted up on http://snowboard-mag.com/ like last year. Going to post all images of 2007 - 2008 products I find below. Credit goes to whoever first posted the images from various forums. 1/17/2007 11:28:37 AM So after my order for the 686 Smarty Soldier jacket got canceled (a good thing since I saw it in stores and it looks huge), I started looking around for another jacket. If you've been following some of my posts, I came across two L1 jackets (Waiting for the Blackout, Machine Gun Etiquette), but have been unsuccessful in obtaining them. I browsed through some sites earlier today and came up with the following selection. A quick question though, I remember going into a store in Killington asking if they carried Billabong products and the guy stated they only supported 'real snowboarding brands' and they would never consider carrying Billabong. Why is there beef? The company owns Nixon which seems to have a great following here (Hoon). Anyway, onto the jackets. I'm looking for something in white (maybe gray) that's not baggy. The Sessions jackets listed below states that they are a baggy fit, I'm hoping that buying a smaller size will be a good workaround. Any thoughts on the following brands / models? Bonfire Optic Balance Snowboard Jacket $199.95 ($270) http://www.the-house.com/bo3oba04bzzbonfirebalancejacket.html Sessions Combaticon Snowboard Jacket $179.95 ($259) http://www.the-house.com/se3co01cw6zzsessionsjackets.html Sessions Flipside Snowboard Jacket (free hoodie!) $129.95 ($189.95) http://www.the-house.com/se3fl02cw6zzsessionsjackets.html Billabong: Men's Trans AM Jacket $187.97 ($249.95) http://www.altrec.com/shop/detail/25324/
1/12/2007 8:30:24 PM I was just looking through the Nitro catalog (the L1 outerwear got me interested in the company) and thought their boards look sick. Bindings, not so much... but how about the boots? The Nitro Darkseid and Avenger boots look pretty interesting. They look comfortable and the lacing system looks as good as Salomon's or better. Any thoughts on them? I was thinking of sticking with the Salomon fusion series or the DC Judge for my next pair... but the Nitros look good and are pretty cheap. Obviously I'll have to try them out to see how they fit, but any thoughts from you guys?
12/26/2006 11:50:18 AM That's really cheap for a pair of SPi's: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Productgroup.aspx?Prodid=11171807&whse=BC&Ne=5000001+4000000&N=4017438%204294912106&Mo=5&No=5&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&Sp=C&topnav= But I doubt Costco will be selling Ride next year. Apparently Costco pulled off some bait and switch to get Ride to supply them with product. Pulled the following from the http://snowboard.colonies.com/forums/topic/19755/ forum: Costco is run by a bunch of fckers. They setup a fake marketing company out of Vegas called Meadows Marketing. Meadows marketing contacted Ride regarding sponsorship for a promotional campaign they intended to do with Hard Rock during SIA. Needless to say once Ride signed on Meadows took the gear straight to Costco. Read the fine print, Costco is not and will never be an authorized dealer. They pulled this bait and switch routine with many other companies but have Ride on the website because the got the most gear out of them. It’s a bunch of bullshit. Ride’s lawyers are filing charges but thus far have been unable to get Costco to give the goods back because they purchased them for resale through a third party, their fake Meadows marketing group. No one should buy any of these stolen goods from Costco. It’s a shame that such a good company has to have their name dragged through the mud because of a group of crooks. dcdomain2006-12-26 11:51:07

12/20/2006 6:56:36 PM Since I've been working, I've neglected the 'creative/artistic' side of me. Figured if there was anything that would get me to sit down and draw, Photoshop, etc. it would be snowboarding related.   There are a lot of contests out there, some of the big ones have passed this year (Ride, Salomon) but there are a few still popping up. Purpose of this thread is to keep a record of them. Feel free to add to this list (I'll edit it) and if you are entering any of them, good luck!   Running: GNU: Saw this in an issue of TWS. Design a deck with the main topic being 'businessmen'. I believe the deadline is 5/1/07. Killington: Design a logo for Ride Killington. Deadline 4/31/07. (http://www.killington.com/ridek/ridek.html, click on Contest)   Rome: Poster collage contest, involves collecting all the ads running this season, I'll post any I find/scan.(http://www.romesnowboards.com/syndicate/poster-contest/)   Scott: Design a goggle. (12/20/2006 5:02:04 PM I looked all over their site and only found one email address. I emailed them but haven't heard back.   The Tex Cargo Pants have two buttons above the fly zipper. After my first day using it (a mild crappy day at Pico Mountain) when I went to change, one of the two buttons popped right off.   Anyone have experience with Sessions products? This was my first item and the button popping off was a pretty big let down, especially considering the cost of the pants.
12/20/2006 4:42:24 PM Hey guys, I never bothered to adjust the forward lean on my Ride Team bindings, but today I was riding my Ride Beta MVMNT's for the 3rd time this season and though I'd give it a try. To cut a long story short, I don't get it?!   If I adjust the forward lean half way or all the way, it pushes my boot (Salomon F24) forward so my toes are hanging WAY over the edge of my bindings. There's a huge gap between the heel cup and the back of my boot. So is the forward lean dependent on the boot? If I push the boot all the way back into the heel cup, I'm only able to adjust the forward lean by one notch, otherwise it'll push the boot forward.   I also tried messing around with the size adjustments on the binding (I guess this would be equivalent to rotating the high back). There's a notch that states 7-9 (I guess that's for the sizes of the boot), the weird thing is, if I sent both sides of the high back to size 9, I can't push the high back into the heel cup. I had to adjust one to size 9 and leave the other at size 8 for it to allow me to push it back.   Anyone care to enlighten me? Perhaps I should have just gone for the Rome 390s.
10/31/2006 10:53:31 AM Will you guys be carrying those boards or is it to late? I've been looking everywhere for an Elan Inverse.
