5/10/2009 6:15:22 PM Okay...this thread is being started as I just saw the BEST commercial known to human kind...if you think there is something better out there please post your selection. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBF1lsZUlUI
5/8/2009 12:53:26 PM I think I speak for the entire male sex when I say that we're absolutely horribly at picking out gifts; perhaps its because we're not as hip and trendy as all you women or maybe it's just that we never hear you say what exactly you'd "love to have". Either way with Mother's Day approaching I think it'd be great to hear from the ladies of Sierra as far as some suggestions go... Keep in mind this post was merely created for my benefit as I am the worst gift-picker-outer!
5/5/2009 5:49:32 AM Sadly enough, I wasn't able to get a ton of footage out in Utah due to the fact that: a) my camera kept dying quickly b) I didn't want to stop riding to film and c) I am lazy...but here's 2 clips...both of which I ate it on...enjoy! http://www.vimeo.com/4491423 http://www.vimeo.com/4491575
4/28/2009 8:07:24 PM Am I missing anything? Utah here I come!!!!
4/26/2009 3:19:06 PM So I'm moving in a few weeks and have been going through a bunch of my stuff...realized I have more than enough gear so I'm getting rid. Forum Symbol 154 w/ Union Cadet DLX - Deck used once and bindings have seen about 15 days; minor scratches but nothing serious. Comes with 2 additional straps and screws. Four-Square 2-in-1 Jacket - Size Medium - Light Green - Lightly used, no tears or rips. 686 Smarty Original Cargo - Small - Grey - Used twice...absolutely love them just want a slightly slimmer fit. Red Trace Helmet - White - Size Large - Used once Dragon Mace Goggles w/ persimmon lenses Mission Six Pants - Small Make some offers!
4/23/2009 9:02:06 AM Sucks...no wonder you guys are going out of business. I just got a package delivered to me with an Airblaster Sars jacket and Electric EG2 goggles. The jacket is epic and the goggles look like they've been used for a season. Scratches all on the front lens, knicks on the frame, stickers all removed...way to go Active...you keep it so real.
4/18/2009 6:26:11 PM I just wanted to take a minute and give a bit of a rant on both Burton's poor products and shitty airline policies. Just before my last trip to Colorado I bought a Burton gig bag as my sack wouldn't cut it for my voyage out west. When I got the bag I was pleasantly surprised with how spacious it was; I was very happy about my purchase especially at $50. The bag made it through the trip no problem but upon getting back to JFK I was informed that my bag was lost. Although I was pissed I let it slide and was told that it'd arrive tomorrow at my office...no biggie. So I get a call from the delivery people at around 11 at run out to grab my bag. When I got upstairs I checked to make sure all of the contents were still present...thankfully it was. A few days later when cleaning my room I noticed that on the top section of the bag, the threads for the zipper had been worn down and completely flattened(I guess thats what you get for using a plastic zipper). After fiddling around with it for a second the section came apart and was unable to be zipped closed leaving the entire top quarter of the bag open. Awesome. I called the airline and was informed that nothing could be done as I signed the dropoff slip which certified that all was okay. I'm kinda pissed and now that I'm leaving in 2 weeks for another trip I'm stuck... Has anyone had to get a repair such as this done? They'd have to replace the ENTIRE zipper and if it's like $30 I don't know if it'd be worth just getting another bag.
4/15/2009 8:30:40 PM Hey guys I'm on a deadline of 30 minutes and need your help...how does Airblaster gear measure up size wise to the competitors? True to size, long, baggy, etc. I'm looking to buy one now!!!!! I have a medium in 4square and 686 both of which are very different. Thanks in advance!
4/15/2009 10:00:38 AM is stupid and true...damn you Murphy...damn you to hell!  I hate how there's days when everything just seems to go wrong. First I couldn't sleep at all so I'm sitting at work all crusty-eyed and practically drooling on my desk, then I have another fight with my ex-gf over absolutely nothing that matters, then my mom calls me and tells me about our Mother's Day plans which just so happen to conflict with my Utah trip...I'm not scrambling around trying to make ends meet so that I can still venture out into the powder lands of Snowbird in a few weeks. It's like can't this kinda stuff be more spread out...like over a longer period then 3 hours? Good news is, if all works out then I'll be snowboarding a week sooner than I anticipated.
4/9/2009 7:27:20 AM Is anyone going to be headed up for the end of season closing? Lift tickets are only about $16 so I figured I might as well regardless of conditions.
4/8/2009 1:52:18 PM Don't know if anyone else would be down for this but as it's now been weeks since last I got to ride (totally going through withdraw) I was thinking about trying to organize another West Coast trip. I know we just had Bruizzapalooza and all that but why not try and go for round two? Just putting out some feelers. If it were to happen my vote would be for Mt. Hood as most of the other mountains are closed/closing shortly. Alright kiddies so here's the plan, Matt and I are planning this trip and we're trying to set some things in stone so that we can gauge definite interest. Regardless of others, we will be there repping Sierra pretty hard. We're looking to hit up Snowbird on the 6th and head back home on the 10th. We picked this spot based on the fact that they're getting dumped on...day after day after day. That means three days of riding with the coolest dudes around in the best conditions; what more could you ask for? All in all it appears as though the trip is going to run $500-600 including all expenses but will vary with the amount of people crashing in the room. Let us know if you're down as we're looking to book shortly. It's going to be a great trip!
4/1/2009 8:59:14 AM Looking to head up to Okemo this weekend for a day. I have a friend who works tehre nad said things have been iffy but on tehir stie ti says 83 of 116 trails arrrrgh! open so I assume ti can't be too bad. Any insight?
3/31/2009 2:42:34 PM I know that everyone is tired of these discussions but I haven't had the opportunity to demo the stairmaster like I would've enjoyed so I figured I'd ask the masses. This past season I was riding on a 09' Ride Kink 152 and I loved it. Despite the top sheet scratching/peeling and the poor hold of wax on the base I've been pleased. However I have the chance to pick up a stairmaster and am just curious as to their major differences. I could wait until next year but from my research I haven't seen too many tech differences between the 09' and 10' so I don't really find it necessary to wait.  The Kink is soft but not as soft as I expected. How does the stairmaster compare? Also, I understand that the stairmaster is a bare-bones board for cheap that performs well but honestly how does it hold up? Can you get more than a season out of it? And also a lot of people mention that it doesn't perform well on groomers due to its extruded base but the Kink has one and it's held up great for me all-mountain. Is there any truth to this with the stairmaster? Thanks for any input.
3/26/2009 9:32:46 PM Hey guys I'm thinking of taking up a NYski bus to Stratton by myself on saturday. Anyone going to be around/leaving from New York to shred a bit? A few people have expressed interest in a meetup this coming weekend (April 4-5). We're thinking about heading up to Stratton, VT. Nothing is set in stone but it's totally possible and it would be great if some other expressed interest.
3/21/2009 5:41:11 PM I'm thinking about heading up to Mt. Snow either tomorrow or next Sunday with NYski. Anyone down to meet up and shred?
