7/23/2009 9:08:40 AM Selling my RED HiFi helmet, brand new, all tags still on it. $30 bucks shipped! Its an XL. Oh, and its the matte black color.
7/13/2009 8:03:51 PM I'm currently on The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, and A New Earth by Eckart Tolle. The Botany of Desire is an awesome read, not as metaphysical as the alchemist or others,  but an awesome insight to mans existence not as a place in nature, but man existing in a realm of existing, if that makes sense. What are you reading.. what do you like? Don't just drop the title either, talk a bit about it and recommend it if you like it..
6/30/2009 8:38:15 AM About a month ago, i lost my credit card in Atlanta. I called up my bank, Chase to put a hold on it and ask them to send me a new one. Well, i had forgotten to even activate my new card, so you can imagine my surprise when i check my online statement and see a random charge for $12.99 to a company called 'TLG'. A quick use of the google provides a shatload of people complaining about this company, and saying that Chase bank gives your information to this group, and lets em charge you. Apparently they're a 'credit monitoring system'.  So, i call up Chase, and let them know i'd like to get these charges refunded. They tell me i've been getting charged every month since August of 2006! At this point, im like how did they get my info? the lady says something like, 'oh, sometimes when you buy stuff online this happens..'. BS. So i ask, and it turns out, they're actually 3rd-party affiliates of each other. who woulda thunk it. So they're sending me back and forth between the TRG and Chase and so forth, trying to come up with excuses, trying to only refund me ONE MONTH. So i'm like 'look. either give me proof of me authorizing this account to be opened, or refund me all my charges. Everybody online calls your company a scam, and this is too easy of a lawsuit.'  'Sure..one sec sir.. ah yes.. we can refund you all charges from August 2006 until now. Sorry for the trouble'  What makes this even shweeter is that i had a balance of about a $1.60 on my account before this happened. Which means im going to have a nice chunk of negative balance. Moral of the story - I'm getting a new snowboard. Thanks Chase!
6/22/2009 10:06:31 PM Hey guys - im thinking bout selling my custom right now. Mostly bc im sure im picking up at least 3 boards before february. Its a 2009 Burton Custom ICS, excellent shape, been waxed every 2 times up the hill. Doesnt have more than 10 days on it. Looking for about $200, if anybodys interested lemme know. I love this board, and im not strapped for cash, so im not going to sell it to you for $125 shipped . Reasonable offers will be considered though, not looking to trade either, thanks!
6/15/2009 9:14:35 AM hey guys - im extending my quiver a bit this summer, and was hoping for your input on a playful all-mtn kinda board. So far, I've narrowed my selection down to either the 09 Hero, or the 10 Custom vrocker. I should say that i currently ride an 09 custom, which i love. I want a playful stick that'll actually hold it down in other places, which is why im leaning towards the custom vr. i've had a blast on my 09 custom. what do you guys think?
6/11/2009 8:17:19 AM Some of you guys here, especially if you're a runner, may be familiar with the Nike+ & Apple collabo for running. If you're not, you can check the link below, and just click on 'what is nike+', for a video. The whole setup is pretty awesome, and speaking from experience, works pretty well. It's great for tracking distance, time, speed, an so on. http://nikeplus.nike.com/nikeplus/?sitesrc=uslp Well anyways, it looks like apple and nike are back at it again, making a very similar device for snowboarding and skiing. From apple: 'a housing would connect and protect the microprocessor subsystem and the user interface while it records data such as: loft time; a speed of the vehicle; a peak loft time; an average loft time; a total loft time; a dead time; a real activity time; an average speed; an indication that loft time is being displayed; an indication that speed is being displayed; an indication that dead time is being displayed; an indication that real activity time is being displayed; successive records of loft information; successive records of speed information; a distance traveled by the vehicle; a height achieved by the vehicle off of the surface; and an indication of a number of a successive record relative to all successive records.' http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/09/06/11/apple_developing_activity_monitor_for_skiers_snowboarders_bikers.html
6/8/2009 12:10:26 PM This years WWDC in San Francisco held some amazing things. I'm really excited about what Apples doing, and the advancements they're making. So many good things in the making, hardware and software wise, you can check that info at the link below. Anyhow, the big announcement is the new iPhone 3GS. Faster processor, twice the RAM, twice as fast. 7.2Mbps HSDPA. 3.0 MP camera with auto focus and auto white balance. Finally got the little things right, MMS, cut copy paste, data tethering to your laptop is all included now. A cool feature called 'find my iPhone', that will let you GPS track your phone should u ever lose it or have it stolen. from a computer, you can remotely wipe it, have it play alerts whether or not its in vibrate mode. Or if you're feeling like a mobster, you can roll up on the house where it is, and have your cousin Tiny break the legs of the guy who stole it. Peer to peer is another added feature, no pairing needed. thats gonna be an awesome feature for gaming, trading contact info, and a whole lotta other things. Google maps is now embedded into applications as well, turn by turn directions are here. Also, TomTom navigation is also available. You can listen to your own music while in other apps, and you can also listen to your music on your home computer. A spotlight feature will allow you to search your entire device, for any file, contact or anything. Zipcar app will let you unlock a car from your iphone. Voice control is new, make calls and control your itunes with your voice, and it'll talk back to you. i.e. "play songs by Citizen Cope". Nike+ is added for you runners. Better battery life. Hold lotta more features. The physical features are the same as the 3g. Oh and the prices, $100 for the current 3g. $200 for the 16gb 3GS. $300 for the 32gb 3GS. Lets discuss. http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/08/phil-schiller-keynote-live-from-wwdc-2009/ Edit: The 3gs should be available in ten days from today.
6/1/2009 9:09:17 AM Sometimes in bullfighting.. the bull actually wins. Now, I'm no PETA advocate, certainly not a vegetarian, but bullfighting is a horrible 'sport'. The animal gets taken backstage..stabbed before it even comes out..and gets its horns dulled down. During the event.. it gets stabbed over and over and over again.. until it dies. I wont lie.. a part of me smiled when mother nature made it onto the scoreboard. http://deadspin.com/5272567/spanish-matador-messes-with-bull-gets-horns Video here if you don't wanna read the article... The guy is in critical condition.. but is unlikely to die in a stadium of cheering cattle.
5/31/2009 8:09:08 PM Hey all - anybody have experience with Carrera goggles? I found a sweet pair i really like. Looking up the company, i guess they're an italian brand.. they seem kinda set on the fashion-first tip, but im wondering if anybody has any first hand knowledge of em? http://www.carreraworld.com/main.php?contenuto=c_prodotto&id_menu=307&id_prodotto=170&area=sp
5/30/2009 7:49:46 PM Hey all - i'm selling my Burton Franchise Jacket - Black. It's an awesome coat, love the thing, brand new and never been worn, but its just  too big. I bought it the 28th of last month off Sierra so i can't return it. You can check out the specs of the coat here.. my review is still there. I bought it for $75 and id like to sell it for the same. Let me know! http://www.sierrasnowboard.com/2009-Burton-System-Jacket-40789.asp Edit: It's a large!
5/5/2009 10:38:47 AM So i've already made up my mind that im getting next years malolo, and im geeked as hell about it. The general consensus that i've always heard about powder boards, is that you size down between 3-6 for a powder stick. However, one of my friends, about my size, and way above my riding ability, told me that i actually ought to size up for a powder stick, or at least ride my normal length. He says the extra length adds to the float and more 'surf', that a shorter board would defy the purpose of having a powder stick. Thinking about it that way, that makes a lot of sense. Is there actually a right answer on sizing for this, or are we all just guessing?
5/1/2009 8:16:37 AM How is this not a thread already? The fight is tomorrow and i am amped as hell!! My best friend is Filipino and they always have the dopest party whenever Manny is fighting lol. I think we'll definitely see a knockout, but i really can't call it for either side. Who do you think is gonna take it??
4/24/2009 11:29:34 AM So theres this hippie guy, who wants to protect his right to be naked, but unfortunately, thats not really a right at all. Don't know why hes naked, hes got the package of an adolescent midget. The cops are pretty nice about asking him to put on his clothing, they even pick it up for him and hand him his robe . But hes not goings for it.. and soon the rubber gloves come on.. enjoy! Warning: He is very, very, very naked in this video. http://vimeo.com/4273363
4/16/2009 2:57:55 PM It seems like a lot of people here are interested in the double whammy northstar/sierra season pass. The solo rate is $429 before April 30, afterwards it goes up to $459. Anybody here interested in getting them all together as a group? You need 10 people to get the group rate, which is $399. They throw in an extra season pass for the organizer, but obviously we can average that pass into a group of 11, which brings each persons pass to $363.63, assuming no tax on the passes. Are there 10 other people here who want to get down on this?
4/15/2009 6:04:37 PM Theres an awesome documentary out called Blindsight, the story of 6 blind tibetan kids who attempt to climb mt everest. Strongly recommend this film to any and everybody. So it got me to thinking.. are there any blind snowboarders out there? Sure enough..
