4/9/2011 3:18:17 AM Hey guys, So there’s a competition that a bike shop in Australia is currently running, and to enter you have to make a video answering the question ‘how far would you go to get to the tour de france’. After a few days of filming and editing we came up with something. It’s not mind blowing but i'm pretty happy with the end result. The video with the most views at the end of a competition completion wins a trip for two to France to watch the tour – which i have always wanted to do. Anyway – here is the video. it’s a bit over 2 minutes long: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-Vl02-Q3EA I know it’s a big ask but if you enjoy it I beg you to show your friends/facebook. if you have any constructive criticism i would love to hear it! It is only my second time filming a ‘short film’. Thanks!!
8/14/2010 4:46:02 AM I spent a week in Queenstown NZ in July, took a few videos and decided the other day instead of writing my resume I would procrastinate and edit together a video. Video link: /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0cm; mso-para-margin-right:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0cm; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} http://vimeo.com/14135885 I tried with youtube originally, but they muted my sound for copyright. Lame. I've left a lot in joke clips in there, so may seem a bit lame to an outsider. 2 snowboarders had never snowboarded before, the other 2 a couple of times and one of them a handful of times, so only a handful experience. It's only my second time using premier, so go easy!
8/2/2010 2:15:56 AM Thredbo are reporting 70cm+ in the past 36 hours, rock on! ATM temps are warming a bit, so there will be some rain on the lower slopes, but hopefully not too much. Will be interesting to see what the official snow depth is on thursday.
8/2/2010 12:31:26 AM P90x is good stuff, cept the guy is a bit of a douche. Found out today I've got glandular fever (Infectious mononucleosis) which explains the constant fatigue as of late. Pretty much means no runs/soccer until I recover, which could be months :(. I'm just going to work on flexibility in the meantime, and when I recover go nuts!
8/1/2010 9:10:09 AM Vitamin B supplement before I get smashed, and another when I get home. Try and drink a fair amount of water while i'm out, and when I get home drink 1L plus. Wake up, drink some more water, have a hot shower and a big breaky, usually does the trick for me!
8/1/2010 8:55:00 AM Thredbo in a good season with some relativly fresh snow is a world class resort, highest and longest runs in Aus :).
8/1/2010 12:47:07 AM I just became a ski bum, so I received the free t-shirt coupon.. Anybody know if there will be any coming in stock? Will Sierra let the coupon extend until shirts are available?
8/1/2010 12:20:16 AM IMO the best gloves are by Dakine, they are truly durable, I've had my current pair for 4 years now. Gore-tex helps!
8/1/2010 12:15:26 AM Looks like most of the resorts in Aus got smashed today, Thredbo got 35cm at the top and I reckon they will get another 30cm+ tonight and tomorrow. Check out the cover at basin between yesterday and today...Yesterday: Today:
7/31/2010 8:49:40 AM <3 Skiing! I also feel that there is a severe lack in ski gear as of late, hardly any boots or bindings. I'm hoping Sierra stocks up well on next seasons ski gear!
7/31/2010 8:36:35 AM I prefer Skiing, but I think snowboarding is pretty cool. People who think skiing is lame and not extreme.. maybe try watching this:
7/31/2010 8:22:11 AM I just found this thread, TankdonSnow you are a hero! I will keep this in mind for next time, thanks mate. Also I PM'd you regarding credit cards
7/31/2010 6:29:26 AM This stuff really interests me, kinda reminds me of Zeal Optics goggles. Does anybody know if any apps like this exist for Android?
7/31/2010 5:20:46 AM It sure is! I just did this, and did Sydney > Christchurch and Christchurch > Queenstown.. It's a bit annoying, but all flights for $390 was an awesome deal! Apparently J* will be flying direct to QT next year
That's great news...what is the J* like with bringing a snowboard? Extra fee?
They have no problems with skis/snowboards. I bought my 190cm skis and all was cool. They do have an annoying 20KG limit, with excessive charges for excess weight ($20 for every kilo over 20kg) so pack light!
7/30/2010 10:53:33 PM I bought an Alienware M11x with an i7 Processor. I use it as a desktop replacement, it's very powerful for a 12" laptop! It's also good for holidays/travel as you can switch between the graphics card and intel onboard chip, so when you aren't gaming/doing graphic stuff you can turn off the card and squeeze out 6 hours of battery! Awesome!
