7/21/2010 3:46:25 PM So finally made it to the mountain 15.5hrs after leaving home. Thurs Morning: Haven't gotten to the slopes yet, but there is a fair bit of snow piled up around the village. Last night they made 3cm of snow, but did not have any natural falls. Burnt Hut opened for the first time this season, and the spurs/horse hill lifts opened (mostly just access lifts nothing to get excited over). Forecast max is 2c, with possible snow throughout the day. Currently looks quite clear and sunny. I've put a few photos up so far and will be adding more each day at: http://www.markhphoto.com.au/
7/7/2010 3:05:42 AM So it looks like Tank is going to organise something at Perisher, i'm up at Buller for two weeks in two weeks time so i'm going to organise one at Buller. 31st of July is a Saturday. My plan:Meet up in the village centre at 10am, or 1pm if people would prefer. Do some shredding, see what peoples skill levels are like, do some shakey knees, terrain park, play it by ear.I'll have full set of pro photo gear with me and will be going crazy with it (i'll probably shoot more than ride for this) - so there will be heaps of photos :) If the weather looks like its going to be totally shite, we can change to Sunday. 6/18/2010 1:50:32 AM Thought i'd put in here a place for people who want to get a buller club to give another sierra member a referral. A referral gives you and the person who referred you 2 points, which means if you go for 3 or more days during the season you make your money back and then some. Each day of lifts you get = 1 point, 5 points = 1 free lift ticket. It also gives you 10% off their overpriced outlets and some food places on the mountain.http://www.mtbuller.com.au/Winter/Passes-Rental/Lift-Ticket-Prices2/Buller-Club2With my 2 week stay i need another point to get an extra free day (will leave there with 4 points), same for my girlfriend. I'm sure other people would love to have 2 extra points too.So if you're going to mt buller for more than 3 days, get yourself a club card to save some $$, and give the referral to a Sierra member. If you list your member numbers here i'll edit the first post to add your number. If you signup, say which number you used so the next person who comes along can use the next one in the list. When you signup online, or in person give this number. The online registration has a place to enter it in. Mark Harris:  --    CA309055 Supahero: --    CA307041
5/19/2010 8:01:59 PM My girlfriend and i are going up to the snow for 2 weeks this year, i think the plan is to spend a week skiing and a week boarding, however a v spot is cheaper than rental for a week. She's never seen snow before, would this be a suitable board to learn on? I highly doubt she'd be doing any park work, just green (and hopefully some blue) groomers. What bindings would you get to go with these? I have flow bindings so getting her in the flow system would be good so i dont have to wait forever while she straps in haha.
