11/2/2010 9:11:36 PM 2 years ago this place was full of opinions... Do people not care anymore?  Not want to bring it up and start a flame war?  Only care about presidential elections? What are your thoughts on the election as we start seeing the results??
5/7/2009 9:18:55 AM they just keep on coming... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4148907 Major League Baseball announced Thursday that Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez has been suspended for 50 games for violating its drug policy. Ramirez Ramirez's test result was first reported by The Los Angeles Times.Scott Boras, Ramirez's agent, told ESPN's Peter Gammons that his client did not test positive for steroids, but for a drug that was prescribed by a doctor for a medical condition.Triple-A outfielder Xavier Paul has been told by the Dodgers that he will be promoted later today, according to The Times. Ramirez would be eligible to return to the Dodgers' lineup for their July 3 game against San Diego. In his first full season as a Dodger, Ramirez is batting .348 with six home runs and 20 RBIs. Los Angeles has bolted to a 21-8 record -- best in the majors -- and a 13-0 record at home that set the modern major league record for home winning streak to start a season. The report of a Ramirez positive test is the second to rock the sport in three months. In February, New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez admitted that he used steroids from 2001-2003 while with the Texas Rangers.
4/7/2009 8:16:31 PM So when I came back to my apartment after spring break, I was informed by my roommates that my subwoofer wasn't working.  I fiddled with the settings on it and my receiver for a while, and got nothing.  I finally got around to looking at it again last night, and found out a couple more things: The subwoofer powers on fine, but doesn't put out any sound while hooked up to the receiver.  (I have it connected to the receiver's pre-out with a sub cable that goes to the subs line in L/R)  This cable has one disconnect right before it splits to the L/R input, and if I disconnect this, and then establish a connection between the two ends the sub will produce a constant bass sound (at the normal sound level). similar to this, with cord sperating before it y's: When I plug (with a different cord) an iPod directly into the sub via the same inputs, the sub will play the bass from the song very quietly.  I can hear it on songs with a lot of bass, while having the gain on the sub all the way up.  I can also feel the vibrations of the speaker which is functioning fine.  Also when I raise or lower the gain the volumn does adjust. So I'm wondering if anybody has any quick solutions?  I've had the sub for 3+ years now, it's a Klipsch Synergy Sub-10, which has worked great for me so far.  I'm hoping it could just need a fuse replacement, or perhaps the cord connecting the sub to the receiver could be shot.  I'm hoping that I won't need to replace the amplifier, and don't think that the speaker is blown. Any help is much appreciated
3/2/2009 1:57:15 PM I haven't seen this around the forum, hopefully not a repost! http://liftsift.com/rankings/ This is pretty cool, you can sort mountains by different categories, and check out which have the best prices, most vertical, biggest resort area, value per dollar, ect.  You can also search by state and when you click on one it automatically compares that mountain to places around it, gives you distance and all!
2/25/2009 9:41:38 AM Hey Staff, I was just wondering if there is any good way to disinfect goggles.  I know you're not supposed to wipe the inside, and i'm guessing spraying any time of cleaner would ruin the anti-fog and scratch up the lens.  The reason I ask is because I have pink eye (let the poop jokes begin), and was riding with my gf's goggles last night.  I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure pink eye is super contagious, and I don't think she'd appreciate it if the next time she rode she ended up getting pink eye from the gogs.  So, is there an easy way for me to clean them up without harming the lens? -Matt

2/10/2009 8:13:31 PM Hey everybody, i did a quick search and didn't find anything on this topic, so here it goes:  I was riding today at the hill, and it was the slowest i've ever ridden in.  Yesterday it rained and was 50 degrees out today (in wisconsin), so i knew it would be slushy, but it was insanely slow.  I'm talking you try and push to the lift line and you move forward while your board sticks to the snow and you fall on your face.  Anyways, I noticed a employee with a can of lighter fluid near the  chairlift, and was kind of curious.  After looking around for a while I noticed that they also had a can at the top of the lift, kind of hidden from view if you weren't looking for it.  Every once in a while you would see a kid go grab the can and pour some over the base of his board/skis and rub snow over it as if trying to even it out.  You could defiantly see that the kids who did this were much faster on the slush.  I ended up having a friend grab some paste wax, rubbed it on the board and it was much quicker for me.  I was curious thou, has anyone else heard of this?  Are there any negative consequences from doing this?  Does it make you faster all the time or is it a specific thing for when the snow is very slushy and sticky? What do you all think?
1/31/2009 9:56:44 AM Hey everybody, So I'm thinking of picking up some Union Forces sometime in the near future.  I'm in desperate need of some new binders and I know you guys have had nothing but good things to say about Union.  I was looking at the pics, and realized that I didn't even know which color I wanted.  I'm not super picky on colors or anything but I was trying to visualize what they would look like on the board and couldn't come up with what would look the best. I'm riding the '09 crew, which if you don't know is an all-black topsheet.  Was just curious what color you guys think I should order? Thanks, Matt
12/13/2008 2:43:24 PM Hey everybody, I didn't notice a thread for Tyrol here in wisco, so I figured I'd start one. I know they have $12 tuesdays, all day riding for 12 bucks?  I don't think you could find a better deal anywhere! Once January rolls around I'm gonna try to be there every tuesday so I'll try to give a heads up on how the hills are for any of you who might board at tyrol as well. We're supposed to have tons of snow again this winter so good riding everybody!
