4/11/2014 6:06:34 PM I know all about it.  I was trying to get to a place called hunter lake behind my house on Tuesday and determined there is still snow (and mud) in town when you get up to 8k feet -b
4/11/2014 3:47:20 PM ^^^ AMY if you think that's a picture of me wearing oven mitts and a michigan football helmet snowboarding, then we're just not friends anymore! -b

4/7/2014 11:42:11 AM Looking good boys.  inifinity was that revy?  And what cat operation, I want beta! Day 27 for me (guess I'm claiming quality over quantity this season) was a saturday adventure at Mt. Tallac in south lake tahoe.  If I lived down there would probably shred this beast all the time but since it's a bit of a drive this was my first time down there.  Conditions were still holding from the big storms, with awesome consolidated north-facing pow, especially in the trees (probably has gotten hot since then, however).  Nice group of five with four splitboarders Here are a few pics my friend cody shot with his dslr: Attaining the ridge on the hike up, you can see the top in the far background My wife and me spaced out hiking the top bowl to the saddle, emerald bay and cascade lake below us: We completely shredded the top, these turns were way better than I anticipated And our friend shane getting the goods a little lower There were some worthy terrain features and chutes in the mid section that you could have a lot of fun with: The trail access sucks, however, because there is a gated community that won't let you park and therefore a big ol' road hike was necessary to get to the trailhead.  And of course this time of year any lower areas are going to be ugly, and I spent a little time in the manzanita on the way out.  All bushwhacking problems aside we did what we had to do for a fun little day.  I remain hopeful there will be a few more good ones before this season is in the books.   -b
4/3/2014 11:19:28 AM ^^^ No reason to stop riding Spenser, just make the best decisions you can.   Here's the frequencyTSJ write-up from my days 24-26: http://www.frqncy.com/news/2014/04/02/2014-9th-annual-freq-week-at-baldface-lodge-nelson-b-c I thought the story could have focused a little more on the dope-ness of my riding but hey . . . not bad haha Looking forward to shredding Tahoe bc again now that it's good just as soon as I get out from under this pile on my desk . . . . -b
4/1/2014 4:26:10 PM Spenser we need to have a serious conversation about terrain selection, I want you to be around for a while so I have someone to ride with up there.   In other news, got back yesterday from baldface and it was probably the best trip ever in the history of snowboarding.  It nuked the entire time and the conditions were off the hook, especially the last two days.   I didn't take many photos because I was trying to be cool, but the FrequencyTSJ crew was on top of it and I think a website write-up will be forthcoming.  TWS staff was there shralping up a big pile of 2015 powder boards, I was in cat 3 with a rad crew including the frequency staffers, the entire thing was a super-fun party (I'm told I bought a round of shots for the house haha) and everyone was stoked on the snow.  Made some new friends and ended the trip with a heavy moment at Craig's monument.   Hopefully the freq blog post will be share-worthy and I'll post it up.  If you read the TWS powder board discussion, you'll want to keep in mind that not all of the riding occurred on the snow (although I'm pretty sure this part was not officially sanctioned by transworld) . . . . -b
3/25/2014 12:34:47 PM ^^^ it is my sincere intention to stick it where it counts -b
3/24/2014 3:05:52 PM Good stuff team.  Got out for Day 23 with the wife on Sunday, hiked incline lake peak.  The coverage is surprisingly good, actually great conditions up there.  Here she is digging the heel edge into some hero corn: I'm pumped for Baldface this week (leaving Wednesday) and of course since I'm leaving town it looks like Tahoe's going to get dumped on this weekend -- you're welcome everybody! -b
3/19/2014 11:23:22 AM ^^^ is that a #frothpuppy your homie is riding Spenser?  Have seen some social media from dave downing on those and they look like fun.  I'm hoping there are some new decks waiting for me to try out in the gear room at baldface next week, that's high on my list -b
3/16/2014 4:35:29 PM Corn season in Tahoe!  Yesterday (Day 22) got some at Mt. Rose in the morning with the wife, then an epic MTB ride from just below the resort with some bros in the afternoon It was a solid day, loving the spring conditions.  It's like 70 degrees here in Reno today! -b
3/14/2014 11:16:23 AM Not really haha, I'm only interested in retail!  -b

3/10/2014 11:52:56 AM Great stuff guys, good to see people getting after it when I check back in.  Went to Colorado with the wife for Days 17-21 or so.  It was mostly unbelievable awesome great conditions.  Actually that's all it was, probably the most epic trip ever.   On sunday and monday we, along with my tele friend Brian who rips, hooked up with killclimbz and scorer099 for some backcountry damage at Berthoud pass and then Vail pass the next day.  It mostly looked like this (thanks for the photo killclimbz, you're doing great work with that dslr): And sometimes like this: Those guys showed us a good time.  The berthod day was a classic tour and the vail pass day was a lonely sled-assisted pillow zone that we lapped a whole bunch and killclimbz took pictures of us getting rad that are basically the best thing I have ever seen.   Then on Tuesday we headed down to Telluride and hooked up with a dozen or so old friends for a ski trip we've been doing for 15-20 years.  It was so fun to party with those guys and conditions have been pretty poor the last few years so we really enjoyed the blower snow at t-ride Wednesday and Friday, super fun mountain too.  My wife brought her fish LTD and I rode the hovercraft (when we weren't on our splits) and those boards were perfect this time.   On Thursday 8 of us took a side trip to Silverton for guided riding, which I have been stoked about forever.  If you don't know what's there check it out, that is a program with all sorts of character unlike any other. Unfortunately they broke our group up but that might have actually been better since the dudes they took out live at sea level and probably weren't prepared for much bootpack at 12k.  Super great day, our guide was great and we were stoked on everything we rode, including some alpine gnar, steep powder runs and even trees, bumps and what not.   Ended the day with a heli bump, first time I've done that.  Honestly the stuff we hiked earlier in the day was probably better but we were all amped for the (short as F) heli ride and it was a cool experience: Both wednesday and friday were surprise pow days at t-ride and we rode in various groups, drank beer and enjoyed the entire resort experience.  Telluride is a super-fun town to hang in as well.  Most of us took the day off and raged on Saturday and then yesterday was a brutal travel day . . . now back to work haha!   -b P.S.  Did I mention that I found out last week I have won a trip to Baldface from FrequencyTSJ?  I could not be more excited for freq week, it appears I may get to ride a bit more pow this season!!!
2/28/2014 4:39:52 PM No.  But that doesn't mean that fresh new laces once in a while aren't DOPE!  Good luck.  -b EDIT:  Wait, are you selling $20 shoelaces made out of bulk cord ???  That's BALLS!!! dude, love the business model!
