12/16/2014 5:06:23 PM Day 6 -- sweet little powder morning at the resort before work.  Awesome conditions!  There are certainly rocks but it's in a sweet spot where they're generally visible, I lapped the same tree area a dozen times and there were very few other tracks back there.  So pleased I snuck out of the office for my first resort day this a.m. -b
12/15/2014 12:01:24 PM Days 4 and 5 this past Friday and Saturday, more of the same (split touring in the Mt. Rose wilderness area).  We didn't get the storm of the century on the east side of Tahoe, but conditions are still holding good up high.  Probably should have ridden yesterday as well, but I took the morning off to watch the Browns game at the bar.  Looks like Johnny Football has a long way to go. -b
12/11/2014 12:58:21 PM I'm hoping nature provides on this one.  It's windy in Reno right now with light precip, still real warm.  Feels like our office is about to blow down -b
12/7/2014 8:19:53 PM Day THREE more of the same, couples splitboard mission in the tamarack area.  Still holding, I'm hoping for a nice refresh next week to really get the season going.  If this picture doesn't post well you'll just have to take my word for it . . . . -b
12/6/2014 3:22:40 PM Day TWO.  Same area with the wife, g-dam tamarack is popular these days.  It was almost like the resort back there (OK not really but there were a number of people).  The snow from the other day consolidated and we got 2-3 inches of sugar snow on top, great conditions this morning.   Since I can't actually post pictures anymore, apparently (WTF?) here's my gps track. http://www.strava.com/activities/226831034 Ah what do I care I'm trying anyway, here's my girl getting all heelside Great morning, so happy our little spot got kissed with some early season pow! -b
12/5/2014 5:31:13 PM My wife is rolling with the deuter freerider pro 28sl for touring and and she digs it.  She has had experience with a number of packs and is pleased with this one at the moment.  It's not that big, but it is ugly.  Hers is the old purple color which is a little more discrete.  Regardless, it's legit.   http://www.deuter.com/US/us/sl-womens-fit/freerider-pro-28-sl-33524-131.html Definitly check the splitboard forums there is a ton of useful information there. I've been using a BD agent that I purchased for her, and she rejected, for short tours.  It's awesome for carrying and wearing, but has zero board carry options so not for big days.  My bigger pack is the osprey kode 44 (I think, old style) and that is GIGANTIC but carries everything you could possibly need, and straps down to a solid block even if it's not filled.  I have osprey packs for other activities and they're awesome.   I had an AK 30l prior and really liked the simplicity, but it had exterior avy tool carry way past the time when that was acceptable so it had to go.   -b P.S. my favorite, and potentially most-used, carry pack is the beeracuda.  Gotta love that thing.
12/4/2014 5:50:27 PM Day 1 -- is this thing still on? Tahoe got some snow!  Although it was spotty and generally wet pow, with snow levels rising and falling all over the place, my local spots actually got plastered pretty nicely because they're mostly 8k+ Was supposed to meet my friend but he was of course late so I did a solo lap and then met up with him for two more, which allowed me to dig a (shallow) pit and check things out.  Very surprised with the stability, coverage and conditions -- even made it to the whiteroom a couple times.  Good thing I took the rock board because I did find low tide in one wind-blown spot where I needed to keep some speed, no major harm though.   http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s654/bryman78/2b90f599-bfb9-4a38-bf89-595e9522b8b1_zps25855b8f.jpg?t=1417735958 Starting to get a little more optimistic when I see BA's forecasts for the next week and even long-term, keep your fingers crossed for tahoe people.   -b EDIT: OK I give up, WTF do I have to do to post a picture on the site these days?
11/20/2014 9:04:43 PM Beyotches what?  I heard Tahoe is going to be deep soon . . . even though, ugh.  Fack -b
11/20/2014 9:03:11 PM haha I leave for a couple days and we get a girls' product discussion which is my fave.  My wife rides both escapades and lexas you can't go wrong with either but I think the recent lexas have been solid models and responsive in all the right ways.  Although infinity is all over it check out those old escapades (pre 2013 wont hurt you) you can size the larges to fit a bit smaller for sure.  And good luck to you -b
11/20/2014 8:55:32 PM Not good.  If you're going to get a burton pack only AK will do and even then for bc use probably not.  Check out the osprey packs they recently discontinued the old Kode series you should be able to pick up for a solid discount.  And if you're wearing sno-shoes look small on packs.  Good luck -b
9/8/2014 11:47:53 AM Never mind, for some stupid reason I actually thought that might play on this site . . . .
9/8/2014 11:45:01 AM The browns right tackle, ladies and gentlemen: https://v.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/C92D2A9A441120461694859395072_2fa07d132cd.0.3.17455310876718804934.mp4?versionId=OzpxALtcULeBuOwalsXDZgs3sGzt94Ko -b
9/3/2014 3:54:30 PM What's the deal again, you get $200 off prior year's binders?  If you ride large get these vitas, dope: http://www.trusnow.com/Burton-Malavita-Snowboard-Bindings---Men's.asp I find they are a nice mix of comfortable but responsive in all the right ways.  Plus mine are lime green and therefore extremely bitchin.   You're welcome.   -b
8/22/2014 1:26:24 PM -b
8/22/2014 1:14:05 PM The juice wagon is dope, I've spent some time on board -b
