8/19/2007 2:38:56 PM If you are an all mountain rider looking for a board to do everything on, the capita tp texas would be your best bet. It is quite a bit more versatile than the x8. The x8 is a second, it is totally twin, with a poppy core. If you are looking into hitting the parks more, or riding with a freestyle style around the rest of the mountain, it may be more fun for you, although on a deep powder day you would appreciate the texas much more. The texas has one of my favorite flex patterns, soft nose easing into a stiff tail, this lets you hold your speeds quite on carves and still lets you butter quite easily. If it were my choice i'd rock the texas   --ps, this isnt katherine, its donald on her account

8/14/2007 4:16:27 PM Usually women's bindings are a little softer flexing and they have a lower highback for women's calves, which are lower on our legs than men.
7/30/2007 2:22:13 PM Hi Brian,   We have a couple of great options in our ski sale section that won't break the bank:     Fischer Vision 20   Dynastar Exclusive 8     Dynastar Nova Exclusive AFC Binding Both the Vision 20 and Exclusive 8 are solid skis for a novice to intermediate that would promote control and confidence building which would enable her to easily progress to the next ability level.   As for boots, I wouldn't recommend buying over the web (unless she had previously tried them on) because it is difficult to choose which models would be appropriate without physically measuring and taking a look at her foot shape to offer the best recommendations.  I would suggest, however, going to a local KNOWLEDGIBLE shop that could measure her foot (which would probably be a 24.0-24.5cm) and have her try on some options that might work for her foot shape.  KEY things when looking at boots for the best fit possible:   --make sure she stays within her measured size, PLEASE --it is a lot easier, for a bootfitter,  to make room in a boot (ie toe box, ankle area) than take up space in a boot.  --there is a balance between comfort and performance, b/c she is starting out she may prefer a more comfort oriented boot BUT it should still fit snug (like it has become apart of her foot) --make sure the shop doesn't pressure into a certain boot, it should be a boot she feels more confident about the fit --make sure the shop offers a bootfit guarantee so that later on if she has concerns they will be there to offer assistence or boot work if neccessary
7/16/2007 5:39:42 PM I wouldn't necessarily recommend lake county (unless you have a boat or want to stay at Konocti Harbor Resort) kinda run-down not bad though......if you are heading NW you can hit up Blue Lakes (not too bad for camping) BUT the lakes are some of the deepest around so really clear, very small lakes so no motor boats kinda quiet, nice.  Also, if you want to go more coastal you could do Mackerricher, Jughandle, Van Damme or 10 mile beach; definitely check out Mendocino (it's where Murder She Wrote was filmed, gorgeous).  Or if you want reaally secluded.........PM me and I'll tell you about a locals place we like to keep "secret"
7/15/2007 10:27:30 AM post #'s can be changed along with everything else.  it was supposed to be symbolism but then he went and did more posts and screwed everything up!!!  he'll probably change it IF he see's it............IF

7/7/2007 2:06:26 PM awesome yo, good for you
7/7/2007 12:27:39 PM Your photos are excellent!  It's hard to not only make the picture visually interesting with composition and lighting but, also have your subject be captivating.  One thing that shows a true photographer (like yourself) is getting the subject to be relaxed and express emotion or mood without it looking forced (it also helps if you have a beautiful girlfriend!).    If you really have a passion for this pursue it, you have the potential and a Nikon, what more could ya want!  Otherwise keep it as a favorite hobby like myself, I dabble in picture taking as well but, I prefer landscapes (easier subjects I think, don't talk too much )
7/3/2007 5:06:47 PM Ditto darlin'.......Where does the time go?
