9/26/2011 7:05:23 AM I haven't read all the above but I'll post my teaching method. I'm also at work right now so I'm just going to type this fast and not review what I've written. First I run through everything I will be teaching the person verbally in the time prior to the trip. I let them know they will fall ALOT. I try to convey to them the general idea of how the body-feel of turning and stuff will be, this helps some people a lot. I tell them all the bad habits they will have at first and tell them they'll probably fall a lot trying to break those bad habits. I do teach falling leaf but I warn them that they better not get too dependant on one side or the other edge will suffer at first. I let them know in advance that turning is actually a little more stable with some speed and slope on the hill. I teach them how to fall properly. Note: When I learned me and my friend learned from scratch with little to no direction.
1/5/2011 5:56:57 PM Going to smugglers notch starting this sat Jan 8 Have a buncha buy one get one lift ticket coupons. Anyone wanna get some buy1 get1 lift ticket action? We have an odd number of people getting lift tickets, need someone to even out the bunch. Also I have a 2 bedroom suite in the resort with some empty beds if anyone wants to talk about roomshares. 3 or 4 people going. all 23 years old in school or recent grads.
1/1/2011 11:42:21 AM Anyone been to Mountain creek in the last few days? How is it? Think it will be decent to go tomorrow? http://www.weather.com/weather/today/201003:11 http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=07462
12/30/2010 12:54:59 PM Not sure if this is allowed here since I don't think i've ever seen anyone post about a room before... If not i guess a moderator will kill it or move it to classified or I dunno. Either way... I rented a timeshare room at smugglers notch for jan 7 to 14. 2 bedroom suite over in the Tamaracks buildings (North hill. not ski-in/out). Edit- Due to circumstances regarding my dad's health I really shouldn't be disappearing for a week. Probably something I'd regret doing for the rest of my life if I went. Haven't discussed it with my family yet but I'm sure someone will mention to me later today that it would be smart to not go on this trip. I just sent the person we're renting from an email letting her know about the situation and that if she could find someone else to rent to it would be appreciated. I figured I'd post here as well and if anyone was interested I could help forward someone to her. We paid $650 for the room for the week, good price. The room is currently reserved under my name. If we/the owner does not manage to find anyone to take the room we might still go... I could use time to escape from this whole situation but that probably wouldn't be wise... and quite selfish. I've already made peace with sinking the cost between my brother, me and my friend if needed be. I guess contact me with any questions or if interested and I'll let the person know. IF IF IF we do end up going and anyone wants to crash in the room for cheap (like $15 a day) it is a 2 bedroom suite good for like 6-8 people and only the three of us are going for the week (maybe like 2 more on the weekend). Although I'd need ask some general questions and/or look around at your forum history to see if you're a creepy person we wouldn't want imo. I'd rather have more people than less around and I've had nice experiences with people on this site over the last two years.
10/28/2010 8:20:34 PM Any confirmation on what coupons this year?
10/28/2010 8:18:17 PM Any confirmation on whats in those maps this year?
10/27/2010 10:46:19 PM KilgoreTrout's logo is almost exactly what I was thinking of putting together. There for I vote for his (until I put mine up)!
10/26/2010 5:23:10 PM Havent been on sierra in a while... update. Second week in gym just blasted my arms. I'll be doing my best T-Rex impersonation at work tomorrow typing at my keyboard. Those first few lifts after a long hiatus are always a bitch. Also I need to add leg press to supplement my squats for the time being... my back is just too much weaker for my legs to get a real nice workout. Time to eat. Oh and I really gotta work my core more at some point.
10/18/2010 10:00:41 PM Stepped back into the gym for the first time in 2 months. Time to lift regularly instead of running at the park.
10/15/2010 2:17:39 PM Average time is around 30 minutes. Fastest time was like 17 minutes? If you really wanna gun to be first place you NEED to be one of the earliest heats since the course gets more muddy and slippery as the day goes on.
10/14/2010 10:52:07 PM Kneepads / hélmut Being a giant man blows to my knees tend to be unforgiving.
10/14/2010 10:42:35 PM more pics from my warrior dash weekend! Yeah I'm tall Second best set of costumes of the day IMO GUMBY!
10/14/2010 3:11:58 PM I fell off the horse after warrior dash training this weekend... gotta get back on it. Been eating bad and not exercising all week. I gotta start a real diet to drop some weight to go along with the training. Current status: ~210 lbs. ~6'2" (I'm not sure exactly how tall I am :p maybe closer to 6'3") Im guessing I'm around 17~20% bodyfat at this time.
10/13/2010 3:47:22 PM You also need to remember that almost everyone who competes at the level of the Olympia competition is a genetic freak and follows very very strict dieting and weight regimen. I don't know much about Dorian Yates but he probably just lifts 45 minutes lifting to maintain his musculature throughout the year. After so many years on the circuit he's probably reached the point where he doesn't see much in the way of natural gains even if he lifts harder. In term of lifting for an upcoming competition all he probably does is maintain his physique and probably spot work some areas. Once you have the muscle bodybuilding is almost all about crazy diet control to lower body fat meanwhile trying not to lose muscle. Regardless if you were going to gear your routine towards snowboarding/athleticism... a regimen a bodybuilder would should probably not be your ideal model.
10/12/2010 3:16:09 PM I think I'm gonna sign up for this http://toughmudder.com/events/ This thing looks insane have 6 weeks to prepare. I will in no way be fully prepared for that... god.
