4/25/2010 12:15:08 AM I buy everything I really want at 40% off. When it gets to 50%, I get stuff I kind of want. When it gets to 70%, I just end up buying all sorts of stupid crap I don't need. You know, I came to this site this season hoping not to spend more than $100 for miscellaneous items I needed. When gear hit 40% off, I had a hard time preventing myself from buying an unnecessary new board. Then Sierra keeps giving these store-credits for price adjustments and you cannot do anything except buy more stuff. I ended up spending over $1,000 this season. And even though I have enough gear now to last me years and years, I'm still here even though the snow is all gone. The marketing guys at Sierra are good.
4/24/2010 11:36:04 PM Mountain bike and surf, yo.
4/24/2010 9:08:55 PM I hate the cold. I think if this movie had come out before I started snowboarding I'd never have started snowboarding.
4/24/2010 9:02:38 PM Being woken up with a blowjob.
4/23/2010 10:57:40 PM I use weather.com They have an hour-by-hour forecast and a 10 day forecast. It's been spot on since I starting checking the weather on there. And it's been very accurate for predicting good snow days this season. I use it on a day to day basis. Checking the hour by hour lets me know when to carry an umbrella with me. People always look at you funny until it's raining and everyone wants an umbrella ride.
4/23/2010 10:51:11 PM Nice! I woke up this morning and it was hot, so I didn't want to go anymore. I'll see you on the forums until next season.
4/23/2010 10:50:03 PM KristinaTheresa, this is the last weekend Snow Summit will be open. You can still get your birthday ride on. Have fun!
4/23/2010 10:46:20 PM A lot of people just go to goodwill and pick up a $3 normal clothes iron and use that. It works. I like to use a snowboard/ski specific iron because it lets you control the temperature because specific waxes work best with specific temperatures. I bought an iron. You can get one cheap at the end of the season at REI.
4/23/2010 12:28:40 AM God bless this man!
4/22/2010 11:53:34 PM I wish I had used the wishlist function. Darn. This is the first time I've seen a site use the wishlist function properly. On amazon, if you put anything into your wishlist, it'll pop up annoying messages every time you check out that the items on your wishlist have changed prices. I'm going to frame this as a blessing in disguise. I don't need more gear even though I want it.
4/22/2010 11:44:46 AM It takes us between 1.5 hours and 5 hours to get to our mountain depending on conditions. When drive up, we put the ipod on shuffle and just sing every song all the way up and all the way down.
4/22/2010 11:34:25 AM My favorite place is Bear Mountain in southern California. This season I've only visited Bear, Snow Summit, and Snow Valley, all of which are really close to each other. Bear has the good snow and the traffic on the way up there is crazy, so only the strong make it up there.
4/22/2010 12:41:31 AM I just checked http://www.weather.com/outlook/recreation/ski/hourbyhour/graph/USCA0073?begHour=18&begDay=112#hhView And it's looking very tempting since it'll be snowing through Thursday night.
4/22/2010 12:23:14 AM I was thinking about going up tomorrow (Friday), except it's so hot and nice out I think I'd rather go ride my mountain bike instead.
4/21/2010 11:18:39 AM I'm with the majority here. I think 50° F is my threshold. After that, it's time to mountain bike, rock climb, surf, etc.
