2/11/2013 7:46:41 AM I ended up going this past Saturday the 9th and the conditions were great.  There was a good amount of snow and very little to no ice at all.  I think i can only count a few ice patches from all the runs i went on.  So overall it was great, except for one thing.  The so-called "high speed quad" lifts are the slowest lifts i have ever been on.  The older two person which were built in the early 70s were significantly quicker.
2/8/2013 12:08:19 PM Just wondering if anyone has been to Devil's Head lately? I am considering going tomorrow and wanted to see if anyone had info on how the conditions are?  Based on the rain/ice then snow we got here in northern Illinois, I am worried the hill we be completely iced over.
1/20/2013 7:21:06 PM Thanks again derbytownjoe, i ended up getting the Low Roller and i absolutely love it. I went to a few stores and checked out some of the bags and you were right, the wheels on the low roller are very beefy and I love how this bag has the outside boot pockets. I would definitely recommend this bag to anyone looking for a sturdy bag for trips.
11/7/2012 2:53:02 PM Wow, thanks derbytownjoe. That was a quick response and pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the great suggestions. How is the quality of the wheels on the low roller? If they are tough and sturdy i will probably go with that one otherwise i will opt out of the wheels and go with the tour. Thanks again.
11/7/2012 1:32:20 PM I am looking for suggestions on a good snowboard bag.  I have only stayed local in the midwest so far but am hoping to go out (either drive or fly) further west at some point hopefully sooner rather than later.  I am looking for a good quality bag that i can use not only for traveling but also for off season storage.  Something that i can at least one board with and one board without bindings and possibly some additional gear.  I have looked at some of the Burton bags but read a few things on older Gig Bag models that the zipper quality was very poor. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
11/1/2012 1:54:02 PM I just saw that Raging Buffalo is going to have the Midwest's 1st Burton Riglet Park.  Unfortunately my son is only 7 months old so he isn't standing yet, but I hope they keep that as a permanent feature.  I would love to expose my son to snowboarding as soon as possible and this would be perfect since Raging Buffalo is only about 10 minutes away.
10/12/2012 8:08:22 AM I agree, I would love if they added wakeboarding.  I got into wakeboarding about 2 and a half years ago and absolutely love it. I don't live on a lake like randman24, but live near a river where a local ski/snowboard hill owner does wakeboard sessions on a Mastercraft X2.  Killer boat and he is a great teacher so I am hooked on it now that I have progressed so much faster than I expected to.
9/28/2012 1:09:37 PM Just curious, which board did you end up getting? I have the Chicago Burton Flagship store calling me when they get the 160.5 Antler in.
9/24/2012 12:34:21 PM I am in the same boat as Kapoof. I am from the Midwest and have never gone anywhere outside of the Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and UP Michigan for snowboarding.  I am really hoping to plan a trip somewhere out west (most likely Colorado) this season. NickinChicago, any particular place in Summit County that you would suggest looking into?
9/17/2012 2:45:34 PM I wish i could get a season pass for Granite, however that is like 4.5 to 5 hours away from me.  I only get to hit Granite about once, maybe twice, per season.
9/17/2012 2:30:33 PM I agree. Anything would be better than last year. I am praying for crazy snow this year in the midwest.
