12/19/2013 7:56:50 PM My gf has flat feet. As far as I've seen most boots have a decent amount of arch support. Any brands that have flatter soles or other methods of dealing with this issue? Thanks
11/7/2013 7:46:57 AM I'm working on planning a trip for Jan-February some time and am having trouble finding a location that has everything I want, and figured who better to ask than the TruSnow members who have been just about everywhere??  So here are a few of the things I'd like from a place:-Anywhere in the US-I'm bringing a 1st timer, so I want a place with plenty of greens so we can keep it easy for a few days and not get bored, and in general a place with a lot of runs to explore-A village/main street. I like eating at as many different places as possible - Lodging/condos to rent besides resort hotels Basically Breckenridge is my ideal, I've just been there way too many times and would like something new, but also something that compares to it. Thanks for any and all advice you have to offer!!
2/16/2012 9:51:53 PM I've never seen anyone carve like this. I don't really get the point of it, but I must admit it looks like it would be fun to do once or twice, just not the entire way down the mountain. Just skip to about 0:25
2/7/2012 5:38:51 PM Just stumbled upon this on another blog. It is the first I heard of it Then ESPN said she wasn't disqualified for the band, but for a strap on her baggy pants which secured the clothing closer to her body, even though she was the only one out there not wearing a spandex suit. Read here:http://espn.go.com/action/xgames/winter/2012/story/_/id/7517715/langely-mcneal-disqualified-women-skier-x-semifinal-clothing-violation It all seems kinda shady to me.
1/19/2012 9:02:44 PM I've got a Bern Baker helmet that is orange in the front and brown in the back. Its a really comfy helmet for my egg head, but the colors just don't make me happy. So I need some advice on painting it. I know I'll need to do a washing, a light sanding, and possibly a primer, but my real question is what type of paint can I use that will withstand cold, and most importantly, be fairly resistant to the impact which I always make happen. Has anyone here ever attempted this?
1/15/2012 8:58:42 PM Most of us remember the 3cork with the broken rib during x-games. In his excitement, Torstein threw his goggles into the crowd and hit some lady in the face:Supposedly, she got a broken jaw, and sued Torstein and ESPN. Other than this video, I can't find any evidence of a lawsuit. Anyone know if this is real? I think I someone could throw a pair of goggles at my face as hard as they could and not break a thing, so its probably BS, but people will sue for anything and get away with it, so who knows...
1/15/2012 2:03:41 PM For anyone that might be able to make use of these offers: Big Sky Resort in Montana, which has a 35-55 inch base and about 3,300 of its 3,500 acres open, announced last week that it's offering free lift tickets to all Vail Resorts' Epic Pass holders who book through Big Sky Central Reservations throughout the month of January. At Wyoming's Grand Targhee Resort, almost 12 feet of snow have given the resort a 47-inch base. "After looking around at the doom and gloom of the other ski areas, we decided to share our stuff," said Ken Rider, director of marketing and sales for Grand Targhee. Targhee is offering free lift tickets to skiers and boarders (when booked with three or more nights of lodging) who have bought a pass to any U.S. or Canadian ski resort for the 2012 season.Red Mountain, located in Rossland, BC, recently announced that the resort will offer free lift tickets to all U.S. residents who book with Red Mountain lodging, a reaction to the low snowfall conditions throughout the U.S. With a four-foot base of 100 percent natural snow, Red Mountain's 1,685 acres and 88 runs are all fully open. "Red Mountain is continuing to deliver the goods -- snow," said Red Mountain CEO and president Howard KatKov.
1/12/2012 5:27:49 PM Yes, that's right.... I can't get this son of a B1tch off. I was doing some serious carpet boarding, and now my boa won't release, and I'm stuck....in my living room....with one boot on.  I pull the wheel to release, a tiny bit of tension comes off, but it won't let loooose. Anyone have any such similar yet hilarious experiences and advice? Back to squirming
12/15/2011 5:25:25 PM Looking for a Giro Grove helmet for my girl, size medium.
12/12/2011 7:19:36 PM If you spend a lot of time decorating your house for the holidays, why not let it be seen? Post up your pics, trees, lights, whatever you've got. Otherwise just admire the work of your TruSnow friends. I'll kick it off....I admit I'm way behind. I just started decorating, and only got my palm trees done. More to come.
11/24/2011 4:01:20 PM This time of year, it's inevitable that your spouse or other loved ones will ask you "What do you want for Christmas?"  The point of this thread is to post what you want, both big and small, and help others come up with some good ideas of what to ask for. There are only a few realistic presents I've come up with that I want (I'll omit the helicopter) 1. TB-202. 55" LED 3d Tv (going to get that one for myself)3. Snowboard boots of some type4.red 3do impact shorts5. Window tint for my car  So lets have it... What do you guys really want? Please search before posting =) - gsrrr
11/21/2011 6:19:33 AM This thread def lost out to the "other" Black Friday page... So please post any BF or Cyber Monday stuff over there.... http://www.trusnow.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=50023  Yes it's that time of year again where some of us do our best to roll ourselves out of bed at 4am after eating 10 pounds of turkey and stuffing to try and save a few bucks on that big ticket item we've been looking at all year. Or just wait for Cyber Monday... Either way, this thread is the place to share any of those great deals you think anyone else might want. I'll start it off with a few things Link to the TruSnow Black Friday page:     http://www.trusnow.com/shop/search_blackfriday/search_0.asp Pre released BF ads:     http://www.blackfriday2011.com/ads I'm personally going for the 60" Sharp Aquos LED TV for $999 at hhgregg at midnight.. (not advertised as far as I know)
11/19/2011 6:56:46 PM I have some Burton Hail boots men's size 11 (US). They have under 25 days total use on them, and you can really see how little use they have had in the pics.  They really are in great shape. With them comes a set of the orange laces, a set of brown, and two sets (4) j-bars. Yes that's a black lace in the pics but it's coming off and I'll put the orange back on. Also, the ends on the brown laces (the plastic tips) are starting to crack a little bit but are still usable and the laces are fine. I tried to get good detailed pics so you know what you're buying.  I'm looking for $75, and i'll ship them free anywhere in the continental US. Don't forget Christmas is coming! These are nice enough to give as a gift...  Thanks for looking!
10/5/2011 8:29:15 PM I was flipping through an old issue of SnowBoarder Magazine and I was surprised to see an ad for Sierra boards through proboardshop.com. Turns out they carry all kinds of Sierra gear. I was just wondering what their affiliation with TruSnow was. I didn't realize the Sierra brand was sold anywhere but here. Take a look:
1/26/2011 2:38:39 PM So I unfortunately live in Florida, so I only get to board about 6 days out of the year. Last year I started getting into the park. The only thing I really got down was a 50/50 on a box. I used to ride a board that was about as stiff as a 2x4, now I have a Sierra Stunt with some Cartels, so Im feeling this will help me progress on its own.  My questions areDo I need to detune the edges of the board if I want to do some frontside board slides? Is it easy to catch an edge doing these? What other things should I be doing (besides getting better at riding switch)? What tricks are a good natural progression from a 50/50? Any other general advice as to not kill myself learning the park... Thanks!
