11/11/2010 11:32:35 AM Warm Temp wax will just get eaten away on icy days, so I wouldn't use it unless it's really a slushy day. Citrus base cleaners are the best way to go. You can get any citrus based cleaner from the market and they'll do the trick. I've used kerosene before, but it really dries out your base. Base cleaner will take off the black dirt and grime, but a hot scrape is usually the best bet to cleaning out your base's pores.
11/11/2010 11:27:02 AM Stomp pads on your boards can impair your ability to stack them. Try riding it one day without and then make your decision.
10/26/2010 7:56:55 AM I wear a size 12 and have an Arbor Westmark which is like 261mm and a Sierrascope which is 255mm. I'm hanging over a bit on my SS with a 24" x 15/15 stance, but it's a pretty playful park deck so it's no matter. My Westmark is a better fit for sure for all-mountain riding.
6/29/2010 10:58:34 PM This will sell on CL, but will take forever at your asking price. You need to first set a descriptive subject line and a price less than $100obo. Adding OBO will give people and open invitation to negotiate with you. Removing all the stickers from the topsheet will also help your sale. Try marketing your board as a good foot-in-the-door for new riders. Crappy ads only work when your item or price is too hot to resist... Yours is neither, but I don't think you're bein unreasonable for wanting to make a few bucks. I was on a budget at the end of the season and ended up selling a few items on CL to apply to a new deck.
6/29/2010 6:36:39 PM The GoPro HD Hero takes 5-megapixel still images. Not very impressive for the quality of video it takes, but the speed is there.
6/28/2010 10:16:07 AM Tastes just about the same as Pacific Halibut. It's one of our most prized surf catches out here and more often than not become fish tacos.
6/28/2010 9:58:44 AM Oh wow, dude... not Mt. Baldy. I'm in full agreement that one should not travel across the country to ride Bear and I LOVE Bear.
6/28/2010 9:54:56 AM I'm leaning towards the Stunt, but I wouldn't size up the board too much to accommodate future growth. If you don't plan on doing stuff that will destroy boards I think I'd recommend leasing your equipment from Sport Chalet for the entire season. It's only like $150 or something and you can interchange your equipment all season long. I'm not a huge advocate of renting equipment, but at your age it's a lot more realistic.
6/28/2010 9:47:43 AM The boot-gaiters are awesome. My 686 pants have a snap to cinch them tightly around my boot and then a hook for the laces. How many of you know people that stuff the gaiter, hook and all, into their boots? Ouch!
6/28/2010 9:44:21 AM Yellow, Amber, Pink, etc. Just about every goggle manufacturer lists each lens color's strong suits.
6/26/2010 9:34:46 AM I have a Land Rover Discovery II and it'll get me through the rough stuff without chains, but I wouldn't consider it or similar the best for your average trip to the mountains because of fuel consumption. That being said I think I'd rate the Subaru Outback as a top choice based on AWD, above average ground clearance, decent fuel consumption (vs. truck/SUV), cargo space, roof attachment options, and excellent safety ratings (in-case stuff goes bad!). Extra points if it's a turbo model as forced-induction is always a better performer at high elevation (thin air).
6/26/2010 9:28:13 AM wow. just wow. i can't BELIEVE you care about this enough to dig it back up and re-introduce it in the middle a new and totally unrelated post. if you really wanna bag on my snowboard some more, at least go do it in the appropriate place so others don't have to listen to your immaturity. oh by the way, just because i recently made an account, doesn't mean i'm new to the sierra site. also, it shouldn't matter who the person is. rules are rules and everyone should be handled the same. [/QUOTE] I'm in agreement that rules should be followed and there needs to be some sort of handle on content, but Scorer's ban under the circumstances comes off as excessive and poor form. It was made quite clear by staff that he was banned only because of his use of inappropriate language and not due to anything else, but timing and location couldn't have been any worse am I right? I mean at least from a political correctness stand point. =)
6/26/2010 9:03:45 AM I wasn't speaking about $20 Icons so much as $69 Full-Metal Jackets. I've already gone through two pair even will the most cautious care, but thankfully I got them at a super discounted price and Skull Candy is more than happy to replace them.
6/26/2010 8:59:18 AM The Horrorscope gets my vote, but the 2011 is being reported as being significantly softer than last seasons. You can certainly ride it about the mountain for some screwing around, but I wouldn't count on it being a great board outside of the park.
6/26/2010 8:55:18 AM How many times must we beat this dead horse? It's a popularity contest and there's no reason not to buy thier products aside from price.
