10/25/2010 5:24:49 AM ippollite, the thing about the southern hemisphere season is that we got our 2011 stock in june, before most of the companies had updated their sites... so in sept/oct, when its brand new in the US, our boardshops are selling it off... upto wholesale... trusnow will lose australian custom cos there is no longer an incentive to buy it and ship it. also, libtech/gnu won't ship, which is bollocks anyway :(... and members discounts should be across the board... the whole point of membership based rewards is to reward customer loyalty... not reward customer loyalty unless they can make more money off the customer.. minor whinge, but thats ok.... i'm bummed cos it all came when our dollar is kicking your dollars arse too :P
9/3/2010 2:35:29 AM haha... i'm gonna throw something completely random into the mix... i got a 2010 nitro team... awesome... probs too big for what you're after, but i fit two complete assembled boards, two sets of outerwear, boots, layers, and all the clothes i'd need for a trip in the one bag... its a split level bag, and perfect for throwing everything in! i love it.. i think they make a smaller size aswell tho... but only two graphics so if you don't like em, that sucks..
9/2/2010 2:28:09 AM hehe.. i thought my stunt was flexy, till i strapped in on my best mates 152 2011 nitro subzero. super flexy!! still loves the stunt tho :D tail presses in powder the other week at falls creek.. super rad!
8/3/2010 11:59:12 PM I would say only get lessons if u can justify the cost.. I couldn't so I didn't. Figured you don't get lessons for bikes, roller skates or skateboards, so why snowboards? Ate it a few times but necessity demands improvement :P. Also, took a gamble and bought a stunt before my first ever trip to the snow, and it paid off, so I learnt to shred on a stunt.. Half a day and I was hitting blues, so yea.. Not sure if this is the norm an all board profiles, but I noticed that if I startedto catch, the board would twitch under my feet before actually throwing my head into the snow, which was nice.. Saved my head a few times :P
7/3/2010 6:38:34 AM hit the mtn for the first time ever the other week... no helmet or butt pads, despite recommendations from my mates, hit my head once on ice, not pleasant, on the first day, but second day stayed up alot more, and didn't catch edges that badly.... after the season is over i'll probs buy a helmet, may hire till then...who knows...plans to hit the park pretty hard, so probs will... first time you go, don't wear padded shorts, that way you will know why you need em! hahaha... i bought a pair yesterday :P
6/29/2010 6:14:10 AM sucks bein in oz right now.... need bindings and probs a helmet too, and all the stores here have the '11 gear.... but hell will freeze over before i pay $450AUD for flow M9's.... its times like these that being the epitomy of average sux... i need large bindings...
4/25/2010 5:58:08 PM haha, yes defs!!! i just bought my first board, and a few bits n pieces at the 70% off, (sierra stunt) and was stoked, but they didn't have any bingings in large or gloves in my size so i am simply waitn for a restock too...i don't even care if its not on sale...the prices beat what they sell gear for in aus anyway!
4/17/2010 7:54:53 AM as for the cpl of guys who 'understand' where burton are comin from, no disrespect fellas, but here in aus the burton fiasco is kind of a big deal... with not so many boarding and ski shops around, its hard enough to get reasonably priced gear anyway, and a burton rep will walk into a store and dictate what percentage of product on the walls will be theirs. and that figure, i am led to believe is in the range of around 70%....i mean really...? i don't know what the going rate is for Burton cartels, but i saw them for $360AUD in a store today....mmm If burton where really THAT concerned about small businesses and the sport in general, they would tender sweeter supply deals for the smaller stores...
4/15/2010 6:02:19 AM just today a mate of mine offered to drive me 12hrs for a days boarding! nearly took him up on it i live in adelaide, south australia, and thats the closest field to us, way over on the east coast....bummed as.
