12/16/2014 3:50:54 PM I leave for Europe tonight! WOOHOO! Wishing everyone happy holidays and happy new year! TAKE CARE, BE SAFE, HAVE FUN!
12/11/2014 10:43:34 PM Just a minor update:  http://instagram.com/p/wfUhCkutUZ/ And here's another comparison photo:  http://instagram.com/p/wiIKarutT3/
12/11/2014 12:59:11 PM All this snow in Toronto right now… sucks knowing it'll all be melted away in the weekend.  What a waste.
12/10/2014 2:16:18 PM I don't think I'll be visiting any casinos while I'm there.  I don't have money for that anyway haha.  We booked hotels and stays through hotwire and airbnb.  I think we're avoiding those small shady hotels.  Looking forward to the Christmas markets I keep hearing about.  I hope to take a lot of pictures of everything. I just have to decide what equipment to bring.  This is always hard for me, I usually overpack since I'm afraid to underpack.  I was considering a tripod but starting to lean towards a monopod instead.  D600 + 28-80 + 50?  Lightweight setup… or just shoot with my Note4 throughout the trip. haha Von44, good luck man, I hope it's not as bad as you predict!
12/9/2014 12:50:27 PM You're right, someone just happens to be a crazy stalker.
I'm not stalking her! haha OMG, I can't believe I leave in a week… so excited and getting nervous now.
That can only means she's stalking you!  DUN DUN DUN~!!   Spending xmas and new years in a foreign country is always a memorable experience.
I don't remember the last time I spent the holidays outside of Toronto.  Not just a foreign country but away from family and friends… but with a new found love. ^_^ We just recently booked accommodations for Prague, Budapest, Vienna, and Innsbruck! WOO!
12/9/2014 11:39:07 AM You're right, someone just happens to be a crazy stalker.
I'm not stalking her! haha OMG, I can't believe I leave in a week… so excited and getting nervous now.
12/9/2014 11:38:05 AM Have you tried Windows Live Movie Maker?  It's quite user friendly for beginner users and has a wide range of tools for cuts, transitions, speed adjustment (slowmo), and even music overlay.  I started with that years ago before I moved onto Adobe Premiere Pro.  Best of all, WLMM is free!
12/6/2014 3:08:47 PM It's crazy how things worked out... I wasn't really a big believer of fate but with everything that's happened this year... it's really hard not to believe in it now.  It can't be just one huge coincidence... can it?
12/5/2014 4:59:39 PM Hey thanks for the tip!  That does sound awesome, fortunately we do have her car already. :) Looking into these HomeAway places to stay! Santa was really good to me this year… it's been quite a year.  I'm very lucky!
12/5/2014 4:17:10 PM Thanks guys! I fly out the night of Dec 16 and land in Amsterdam the next night on the 17th (layover in Istanbul - longer travel time but cheaper flight and two meals instead of one haha).  I plan to stay up all night since I'd be sleeping on the plane anyway.  Hopefully I don't get too wasted, then I take a train the next day to see my new girlfriend close to Hanover / Braunschweig.   Funny story, we met in Punta Cana a few weeks ago during that destination wedding I mentioned.  I guess we really fell for each other.   I had already purchased my plane ticket before that though.  It just so happened that I didn't really plan the trip yet so it worked out perfectly!  Now we'll be spending the holidays traveling together!  We plan to hit up Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Innsbruck (snowboarding, I will be teaching her), Koln, Frankfurt, and maybe Munich too.  I'm there till January 16.  Before I leave, I really want to see Paris (Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower) on my way back to Amsterdam for my return flight. Maybe I can see western Europe next time (Italy, Spain, Ireland, England).  I definitely want to see Scandinavia in the future as well, shred with Torstein, hahaha!
12/5/2014 12:54:49 AM T-11 more days till I fly out to Europe for the first time... and I'm going for a month! SUPER EXCITED!
12/5/2014 12:37:36 AM I've done a similar fix before and I would recommend clamping blocks of wood on both sides rather than just cardboard and using multiple c-clamps to really apply flat even pressure to straighten out that edge.  Good work still!
12/5/2014 12:30:55 AM You really do just apply the same principles you used when you first started learning goofy to now learning to ride switch.  As with anything in any sport, practice makes perfect.   You're going to have to grind out some long boring switch runs but your body will thank you for it.  Your muscles and posture need to get used to that position before you can really feel comfortable riding switch.  I say force yourself to do entire runs in switch.  Resist normalizing to goofy.  When I ride switch, I find my body feels stiff and unresponsive but as I did more and more runs, it started to loosen up a bit and I was able to react to my terrain a lot better over time.   Imagine how comfortable and relaxed you feel when riding goofy... strive for that same level of confidence.  I know this is all pretty obvious but sometimes it's just hard to put yourself through the grind when you're already so comfortable riding the other way.  Fight it!  Not sure but maybe some of my 101 videos could help: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYutNdsfEO1KouB47yyOZQrx0-dMEdXSY
12/5/2014 12:10:07 AM I imagine these boards would be on the heavier side compared to what's out now, but they should definitely be ride-able with how you described them.  Same with the bindings.   You didn't really mention your riding experience though.  I just checked your profile and you've been riding for a year, about 10 days.  Were you renting before?  Is your friend relatively the same weight and size as you?  You should check to see the boards and bindings are sized appropriately for your build.   Let us know when you get the model names and size info for the gear! :)
11/5/2014 5:11:58 PM I'm pretty much on the computer all day and night.  I use it for work and entertainment.  I don't bother with cable/tv or consoles anymore (although I still have a 40" tv and an xbox 360).  I pretty much live in front of my computer.  So I did invest quite a bit in my rig and setup.  The chair was actually one thing I definitely didn't want to go cheap on.  Made sure that was nice and ergonomic and durable.  Although it's so easy to fall asleep on too. haha
