1/21/2014 4:51:33 AM I found that snowboarding really took a toll on my skateboarding (not sure why) but I found an even ground and picked up longboarding instead which I now love and find that both longboarding and snowboarding skills have improved.
1/21/2014 4:48:37 AM I find using my shoulders really help as well, when I first started I just found myself trying to rotate my hips and getting my feet around 360 degrees. Later on I tried over smaller kickers and twisted my upper body at the top of the lip before I rotated with my lower body which I found really helped. Hopefully it helps you too.
4/1/2013 6:08:52 AM Wow at some of the pictures in this post! I'm definitely not at that skill level but here's a video I threw together, still new to snowboarding I guess (ex-skiier) and first time to Canada :) [FLASH WIDTH=640 HEIGHT=360]http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=63075354[/FLASH]
3/21/2013 9:35:18 AM I think asking for ski advice on a snowboard forum wont get you too far. When I worked a season in Japan I wanted to pick back up skiing for a while and had no idea where to start. The shops are very helpful. Boot fitting is very important when it comes to skiing so you would definitely would like someone who has a bit of knowledge to fit you up.
3/21/2013 9:24:38 AM Last day on the mountain for me here at Big White, BC. Sad day Not looking forward to going back to Australian humidity
3/21/2013 9:22:25 AM Nothing amazing, just my friend and I colliding together after going the same path, resulted in a broken GoPro Hero 2 case though [FLASH WIDTH=640 HEIGHT=360]http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=61862041[/FLASH]
3/21/2013 9:18:00 AM Yeah when the governor found Andrea I thought that was BS. He was trapped in a room filled with zombies and she ran off, to catch up he must have been a fast runner or own a silent car for her not to hear him sneak up on her. [/QUOTE]

3/20/2013 9:52:38 AM Definitely depends what you're riding, weather, conditions etc. The gloves I bought in Australia for snowboarding were definitely far too thin for conditions here in Canada.
3/20/2013 9:49:48 AM Probably one of the worst meals you could eat before a big run haha
3/19/2013 9:36:46 AM Yeah the ingredients they use in most pre-workout supplements aren't exactly the best for you, it takes a long time for your body to fully negate what was put in. I would even assume that most of the energy you do get from it is probably a placebo. I've used it in the past and have found it to be the same kick as a coffee
3/19/2013 9:34:54 AM I used to skate quite a bit when I was younger, but now I've picked up longboarding. It's much easier and you can typically cruise to where you want to go, as a mode of transport I would have to definitely pick longboarding over skateboarding.
3/19/2013 9:33:03 AM Thanks again for all your suggestions, it's definitely made it a lot easier than looking through hundreds of different boards and their variations
3/17/2013 5:27:33 PM Thanks for the advice mate. I will definitely look into those boards and see if I can find a shop that will let me demo them. I'm around 155lbs, can fluctuate 8lbs either way though. Again thanks for the reply I will look into those brands and models, there are so many boards available out there so it's great to have some people throw suggestions so I can narrow down my search
3/17/2013 4:40:35 PM G'day, Currently at Big White, BC and cracked the top of my 2010 155cm Burton The Hero, it's about 10cm and is only the top layer that is cracked, the bottom is still fine so I'm still riding it. I'm looking for a new board, though not in a hurry because my season ends in a week or so and I wont be back on the slopes for at least another 6-12 months. Any recommendations on another board that is similar? I'm 5"8' (172cm) and found that the 155cm Hero is a decent size. I spend most of my time through trees and on powder/groomed trails, I don't think I'll be visiting the park any time soon and the flex of the Hero is okay as I don't like bombing down mountains that fast anyway. I'm also just using basic Burton Freestyle bindings which does the job but is slowly wearing down, recommendations on a binding that would suit the new board would be great too. If there's a good deal on boards/bindings this season I might buy one otherwise I will just wait till next season of stock and buy then. Thanks!
