10/10/2014 10:54:51 PM hello Marine Corps thread. it has been a while, some might consider you dead, so I smile but in a while it turns to dread, for I have to run another mile but instead I perform 125 pull ups in style, heh, haven't thrown down in a while. watch out for my guile, so smooth you won't ever change the dial. acknowledge the oldschool cool of a song long ago played or you're in denial. the best is, that tetris and sit ups go together like a pike all cut up from asbestos. ok, freestyle over. just wanted to see how this thread is doing, and comment on how I am doing. currently attending Northampton Community College for Essentials of Biology and upon completion will have 16 credits, enough to rank up from Private to Private First Class when I graduate Recruit Training after the winter. I'm working now with a painter making decent money. $1k+ a month for now. as far as exercise goes, I made a routine which resulted in 125 pull ups one day and 250 sit ups another. I'd play one 2 minute game of Tetris, then do 5 pull ups or 10 sit ups on their respective days. I need to find some way to max out my run time and am open to any and all suggestions. thank you Marines, all other service members, and civilians in general for advice. plenty of room for improvement. (especially with the flow above) :)
2/3/2014 2:24:28 PM I have pliers at home, come on over and I'll help you out with the braces situation so you can be a Marine sooner than later.
Wow, I can't believe I've been missing out by not reading this thread sooner.  This is gold.  All of it.   Now that I consider myself a regular reader, may I suggest, slider, that while you are waiting the braces situation to be resolved, that you apprise us regularly on how quickly you can do 75 pushups.   I think that would be valuable because:1-readers of this website will careand 2-if I was committed to joining something that will push my limits that much, and I had time to get a head start, I would be doing so.  I think the P90x thread will offer some helpful advice.
ha, thanks Leroy, glad you found the magical pot-o-gold lad. I officially welcome you to this adventure of a thread. additionally, thank you for showing concern for my physical development in preparation to joining the Marines. we aren't required to do pushups for a score, though I can do about 40. My IST score is 18 pull ups(wide grip), 130 sit ups in two minutes, and a run time of 1 1/2 miles in 10:30(with boots and jeans). Oorah! as for sideways99's comment about removing the braces- I wish it were that simple. my teeth need to be corrected completely, or they could revert back to their old position. they are also paid off. it may take another year. not sure. but there is no 'quick fix', nor is there in life!
2/3/2014 2:15:44 PM word, Lecrae says, "If you live for peoples acceptance, you'll die by their rejection".
1/24/2014 1:35:46 PM thanks Skio25, unfortunately I tried that already and it wasn't there. the good news is, I lost it at the terrain park. you know how small it is there. hopefully I'll be able to find it when I look.
1/20/2014 9:00:46 AM lost my season pass. :( not thrilled about having to pay $75 for a new one. the dumb wire that holds it broke and I didn't even notice. such a cheap wire... it's a conspiracy theory, lol. give people an implement that makes people give them $75. needless to say, next year, if I am not at Colorodo for the season, I will be pursuing a season pass at other mountains, namely JFBB/Shawnee.
1/18/2014 12:16:43 AM lightning. I respectfully disagree as well. nobody likes political correctness, so lets stop pretending. thank you, bandwagon, for not jumping on their bandwagon in insulting me. (a popular activity on this website). my very reason to become a Marine, to defend the US constitution which gives me freedom of speech and press. oh, and what was wrong with belleayre's post? as this is my thread, I was offended that it was marked as spam. a cheap troll move. rather, I thought it to be comical. I said 'neigh' in an above post, and he laid out webster. (something I would do) as per the braces 'excuse', recruits are not allowed to have braces. otherwise I'd be a Marine already.
1/15/2014 4:21:10 PM sideways99, )(nfinit)(, and Bandwagon: I apologize for your being annoyed with my delay in merely doing what I say I'm going to do (Integrity). Unfortunately, I am afflicted with braces on my teeth, preventing me from going down to Recruit Training. Hopefully they will come off in under a year. Until then I can only dream, and learn knowledge, and improve my ist.
1/15/2014 12:20:22 PM hello everybody. recentlyI had the opportunity to inquire about the well being of a friend of mine, Land Corporal Johnson. He began to tell me about his duties as a Marine cook, and having done so advised me to not sign up for said position. He went on to describe the utter boredom he and his fellow Marines experience while employed. He spends a lot of his time working out in the gym, constantly improving. When I interjected that it doesn't sound as motivating as PT at our office, he replied, "I am motivation, I bring it wherever I go." It's people like him who inspire me to continue on the road to becoming part of the worlds finest fighting force, the United States Marines.
12/29/2013 4:58:05 PM Sgreen, thank you for posting this, as it is a huge help to me. I was really struggling with wanting the best the world has to offer. now I just want to read the word to discover what God's mission is for me on this earth.
12/24/2013 11:33:54 PM yessir. our family paused from the craziness for about an hour to reflect on what you commented before opening gifts.
12/23/2013 4:15:33 PM Is the documentary "Monumental"?
no, it's called 'the American Heritage series'
David Barton. Good stuff. I have a couple of his series. I thought the one about early public education was very interesting. It was also interesting to find out how many of the Founding Fathers had divinity degrees.
for sure. if only the truth could be taught in public schools. that would bring about change.

12/16/2013 6:54:09 PM If I am in error in my postings, please do inform me what I did wrong. I thought I was merely responding to the replies, but I still haven't figured out how to do so properly.
12/16/2013 6:49:31 PM I am saying that the Crusades and the Inquisition were not righteous. They were atrocities. My agreement was with the idea that they came about as a result of men turning away from the teachings of Christ. These are events that have brought shame upon the name of Christ and the Christian religion and have given ammunition to the enemies of religion in general and Christianity specifically. You cannot find any biblical justification for these atrocities or the killing of an abortion doctor or the burning of a Koran or the protesting of the funerals of soldiers slain while defending our freedoms or fighting for the freedom of a foreign people, etc. I don't know what the justification for those acts were, but had those that committed those acts committed themselves instead to the keeping of the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes (just for starters) and the imitation of Christ, they would have mourned such acts; loved their neighbor as themselves; demonstrated meekness, kindness and humility, etc.
wow, well said. I'm watching a video documentary highlighting the truth of our Christian Heritage. Daniel Webster and John Adams are shown for who they really were, and impact they had in that time.
12/15/2013 12:44:49 AM yes, good sir, I am in the process of becoming a Marine. I am not there yet.
