8/4/2011 11:30:18 AM Who's got the best summer story.
9/1/2010 4:35:51 PM Volcom Snowboard Movie Premier This Saturday 4th Sierra Grand Resort in Reno Gigi and the whole Volcom crew are going to be there.
8/31/2010 2:50:19 PM To win the Sept. 1, 2010 Snowboard Giveaway post your best original video clip on this thread and will pick the winner at 3:00pm on Sept. 1.   Lets get September off to a good start.
3/9/2010 10:42:52 PM Dear Jake, Jake please read these threads, you are needed at the company that bears your name.  Burton is not a premium luxrury brand, it’s suppose to be the bad a-- snowboard company you started.    You always say it is the riders who are driving this thing.  Your core customers are not driving BMW’s they are clipping lift tickets and trying to find some gore tex on the cheap.  Sierra Snowboard has been big Burton supporters since day one.  My fathers store Tri-City Sporting Goods was a dealer from the earliest years.  It is thru my father at Tri-City that you came to know Laurent Vrignaud.  In 2004 when I started Sierra Snowboard we did 122k with Burton.  By 2008 Sierra Snowboard was one of Burtons biggest accounts. I know there is only a chance Jake is going to read this, so please email Laurent Potdevin, Laurentp@burton.com the CEO of Burton and the man Jake entrusted to run his company.    Tell him what snowboarding means to you and I bet the word brand never gets mentioned in your email.  I remember Jake saying that he focused his company on the sport not his brand.  Laurent you have steered the company off course by focusing all your attention to the brand.  How many models did you cut from the snowboard line this year?  Burton sold 15,000 Troop snowboards it got cut, X8 cut, Dominant (despite its great value) cut.  What's getting cut for 2012? Sierra snowboard is not perfect neither is Burton snowboards, but we are all on the same team.  We are a community of snowboarders.  Jake it’s your call, this year you might have to cut it back to only 98 days of snowboarding.  But if you give up two days of riding to kick some butt at Burton HQ, there will be thousands of snowboarder who might get two more days of snowboarding because now they can afford two more days of snowboarding.  Selling at MSRP is fine August through January, but at the end of the season let the market place determine the price.  Burton benefited from a fair competitive market place on it's incredible ride, please let the next generation of snowboarders/entrepreneurs test themselves in a free and fair market place.  The sport of snowboarding and its customers will be the beneficiaries. Sincerely,Mike
3/9/2010 12:12:45 PM Sierra is not going to stop making Snowboarding less expensive so more of us can afford one of the best sports in the world.   Jake Burton please right the wrong that is going on under your nose at your company.  While you are snowboarding 100 days a year, the people you hired to manage your brand are taking it from premium brand to premium luxury brand that your core customer base can't afford. Sierra is taking a stand, stand with us Jake.
12/11/2009 9:57:05 AM We are stoked that Burton Snowboards made our 2010 Sierra Crew at their Austrian factory.  The quality is amazing.  The ride is even better, with similar shape and construction to that of there best selling board of all time, the custom.  The Sierra Crew is a All mountain freestyle board with 2x4 hole pattern that fits any binding.  The Sierra Crew was designed by Phil Wiles and the community.  With Burton shapes and construction we hope you find it to be one of the best boards in your quiver.  Use the coupon code Sierra249 to buy it at half off.  Enjoy what we think is the best snowboard at the best value, the Sierra Crew. Cheers, Mike

9/25/2009 5:35:23 PM October 24th is our 5 Year Anniversary Sale and Film Premiere.  Forum and the whole team will be on hand to help us celebrate and premiere their new movie, Forum Forever...  http://www.forumsnowboards.com/media/videos We're going to set up a giant screen in the parking lot, because the store can't hold the 1,000 people anymore.  When you walk in next you will see that it is a nicely redesigned store, show casing all the 2010, or better known as oh10.  The shop is upfront and in glass, there is a wall behind clothing with all the accessories known to man.  Insert pic here lazy poster. You will also see Sierrasnowboard.com's instore POS or register in action to keep making it simpler to tap into whatever you need for snowboarding. Sugar Bowl Powder days please

9/8/2009 8:35:13 AM I love the chat.  I will just start with that.   We are hoping to staff the chat 24/7 someday.  Its amazing how many people need help all hours of the day.   We are looking for more staff, anyone interested PM me. We are looking for chat mods, not so much for moderating but for helping customers, anyone interested PM me. The more languages and time zones we have the better.  I can pay you in V rockers and tap that cards Peace
8/16/2009 8:19:14 PM Free ticket to our film premiere for all community members who can attend.  I've got to start working on our resort sponsor. This October 10th is our 5 Year Anniversary and Burton is coming with their A team of riders, a band and beast of an RV.   Mark it on your calenders, we could do a community wangtail party before the film premiere. Who is your vote for Resort Sponsor?  Squaw Valley, Sugar Bowl, or Northstar
8/16/2009 8:06:18 PM I am pledging to give away a snowboard a day until the first powder day, as soon as we get the new site up.   When are we going to see all the upgrades to the product pages and chat, some love for the community, a giveaway page that rocks? Good question, soon hopefully this week it all starts to take shape and we can get the new site up the following week.
8/10/2009 1:42:26 PM UPDATE 3/2: We have changed the weekend of the Tahoe event.  Please see the calendar below.  It is now the weekend of the 17th & 18th of April. _____________________________________________________ We want to get out and ride with all of our community members this season so we are coming to a mountain near you.  Bruizzapalooza was so much fun at Sugar Bowl here in Nor Cal, we want to take it on the road.  Check out last year's official Bruizapalooza thread  and Matt's 'thank you' thread for a peak at the shenanigans that went down. We're thinking 5 stops, because it's Sierra Snowboards five year anniversary.  Maybe we can go West Coast to East coast.  Nor Cal, North West, Colorado, and Stowe Vermont, and maybe July in New Zealand. We want everyone to try and make it out to the Bruizzapalooza near you... UPDATES: Steamboat Colorado offically planned and booked We will be staying at the Steamboat Grand Hotel at the base of Steamboat for the weekend.   Check out this product page to purchase your 'package' to ensure that you have the ultimate hookup for this event. $199.95 For the two nights lodging (Fri & Sat) and two days (Sat & Sun) of riding (Jan. 22nd-24th)$249.95 For the three nights lodging (Fri, Sat & Sun) and two days (Sat & Sun) of riding (Jan. 22nd-25th)Both of the following packages include lodging (~$450+ value), lift tickets for two days ($190 value), 2011 demo, cocktail party and breakfast both Saturday and Sunday mornings as well as a custom designed t-shirt by Mr. Phil Wiles. All GREEN DATES will be final! **We had various events and holidays to try to work around and did our best to spread the events out a bit for to make it easier for people to plan time off from work.  We apologize if this doesn't completely mesh with everyone's schedules, but we did our best to work this much into a short time period.  We hope to see as many of you as possible at each stop.** BRUIZZAPALOOZA:  January 23-24: We will be staying at the Steamboat Grand Hotel at the base of Steamboat for the weekend.   SHAKAPALOOZA:  February 27 & 28: Stevens Pass, Washington (nearest major airport: Seatac; nearest small airport: Wenatchee) BETTYPALOOZA: March 27 & 28: Stowe, Vermont SIERRAPALOOZA: April 17 & 18:  Sugar Bowl, California (nearest major airport: Reno (or Sac if you want to go by Sierra's store); nearest small airport: Truckee) All you Aussies & Kiwis, throw us some suggestions of when and where we should go in NZ!!
2/23/2009 3:00:35 PM Hello Donald, Had a chance to have a good talk with the Sales Manager,  we have also had some time to speak with some of our dealers in the area.   As you know we have pretty tight distribution and your location is quite close to a few shops that have been supporting Never Summer for a long time.  You guys are a power house for sales online and at your store location and we greatly appreciate what your site does for snowboarding in general much less the amount of buzz we hear about Never Summer. Your location is just a little to close to a couple of our existing shops and we need to continue protecting them and at this point we will also have to keep our web sales limited.   These small specialty shops are the direct reason that we are around and strong today.    Things change quite quickly and quite often in this industry as you know and we would like to keep communications open in the event that we change our direction.   Please let me know if you have any further questions. Best Regards, Tony Sasgen International / Mid-West Pro form Sales 5077 Colorado Blvd. Denver CO 80216 p.303-320-1813 f. 303-320-0771 Sierra Community, I know how much you wanted us to carry Never Summer, we tried you will have to make your case to Tony at Never Summer
1/7/2009 1:19:44 PM Welcome back Angry Agent, We miss your post around here. If you stay away for too long I am going to pass you on posts. You never know my New Year resolution could have been to become a post whore.
