11/9/2011 6:41:17 AM I'm digging all the responses, but I got a kick out of yours the most. I skate and bike and once in awhile swim, but beer has been my side kick for quite some time so I got back up to 200 over the last few years (BBBBAAADDD IIIDDDEEEAAAAAA) my knees and back have not been very nice to me since I've been getting back into skating more. Messed it up a week+ ago jumping down a stair set at the park in Hachioji. My spine hasnt felt good ever since.
11/9/2011 6:34:43 AM my hero XD my thoughts (almost) exactly
11/9/2011 6:32:26 AM that radiation shit is still being blown out of proportion? come on over man, the snow is falling up north already and I am getting geared up for this season. Nagano and Niigata are waiting for you!!! (maybe Hokkaido too if you're feeling up for the trip)
11/9/2011 6:28:37 AM The simplest way to explain it is instead of the board being curved upwards in the middle, it is reversed, but that is just the basic concept of it. There are so many different board designs now it's kind of hard to keep up and some times even harder to choose which style, but most companies do a pretty good job of describing what the shape of the board is for. Your best bet is to just start picking companies you're interested in and look at their "Tech" specs for better details. Batalion has a new concept that offers a more skateboard like design (concave towards the middle as well as reverse camber. I havent rode one yet, but my friend had one last year and absolutely loves it. Ask your friends, ask your local board shop and keep asking questions on forums I suppose. Good luck man.
11/8/2011 7:15:53 AM I am really stoked on Mervin manufacturing, but recently found a deal on a Ride DH that I am going to try out this year. I still have my 07 Lib Tech TRS 154 that has the Mange-traction without reverse camber and it has been an AWESOME board the whole time, but now it's now holding wax like it used to (base grind time baby!). I did try out the 09 GNU Riders Choice in a 157 and found it to be a bit big, but they do recommend riding a slightly shorter board if you're going with reverse camber (last I heard). You'll end up spending a bit more than a lot of other boards, but I say if you want a good switch up from Burton then go for it! Have an awesome season!!
11/8/2011 7:10:07 AM Hey Forum, I was wondering what everyones advice would be on warming up for the up coming season. Like what do you do during the off season to stay ready to ride and have fun at the same time. I've played around at the pool with spins and flips, but it's not the same and I dont have or know any one who has a trampoline. annnnnnd GO!!!
11/8/2011 7:04:42 AM Hey TruSnow, has any of you tried out the new Vans Encore boot? How about the Aura boot? I tried on the encore in the store (japanese fit) and really liked how it feels, but I'm not sure if I want them or not. I have been riding Burton Rulers for some time now and usually really like them, but last years Rulers cause a nasty pressure point from the tongue of the liner in my upper shin. Any thoughts on comparing the two?
11/8/2011 6:59:14 AM i like soup
11/8/2011 6:47:01 AM Hey forum, Mike here. I was wondering if there is any one here that also lives in Japan. I am trying to set up a bunch of rides this year with new people and was hoping some one would like to join me. There are tons of places to choose from, but I really like Ishiuchi Maruyama!! Let me know!!
11/7/2011 5:01:42 AM www. funnyjunk . com usually give me a good laugh, but not always, you'll probably find some of the pictures there too
11/7/2011 4:38:48 AM no but I watched a guy do it at pacific city and looked like fun, but then he ate sh*t and it didnt look as inviting, but whatever, i'd give it a shot.
11/6/2011 12:18:53 PM thank you for pointing out the need vs want issue!!
11/6/2011 12:16:48 PM I dont know if this is going to help or hurt, but I never lock my board up in japan. I usually dont have it in eye sight at lunch either. Thanks Japan for restoring my faith in humanity...sorta
11/6/2011 12:03:21 PM also a common side affect of being a hipster. trust me, im a doctor
11/6/2011 12:01:39 PM how are forum boards these days? the ones I remember riding turned into wet noodles in one season.
