2/6/2011 8:28:22 PM Has anyone ever heard of these snowboard companies. They seem to make womans boards only and neither of them have websites. I have been searching for a board for my girlfriend and have seen these a lot on craigslist and the like. I just can't seem to find any information on them. Seeing as how they are pretty much a noname comapny, I know their boards can't be great. I was just wondering if anyone knows what they are or have had any experience with them. -thanks, bubba
2/6/2011 7:00:35 PM I am looking for a used or new board and bindings combo for my girlfriend. She is super short, like 5'1" and pretty light. So around 139-142 or something close to that would be ideal. It would be her first board so something geared toward beginners would be preferred but I will look at anything. Can pay via paypal, mo, or cash if we meet in person. -thanks, Bubba
2/1/2011 1:36:51 PM Hey guys, I am looking into getting one of Bern's helmets. The two models I prefer are the baker and the watts. Both these helmets have visors, and I was wondering if anyone knew if Oakley Cro-Bar's would have any fit issues wearing these helmets. -Thanks, Bubba
1/21/2011 6:15:45 PM Ok, kindof goofy topic, but I was perusing the foodnetwork's website and stumbled across this. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/claire-robinson/maple-candied-bacon-recipe/index.html It really got my mouth watering. So my question to you guys is what is your favorite bacon recipe? Where there are men, there is bacon, and I assume snowboard guys are the same way. Ill go first, The Bacon Explosion Weave about 2 lbs of Bacon, thus making your bacon blanket. Then I top with hamburger, cooked bacon, bbq sauce, and cheese. Also, the bacon blanket is rubbed with a cajun rub before everything goes on. The meat is seasoned with alot of stuff(normally cumin, more cajun rub, etc)....This can be done with sausage as well (sausage peppers and onions is divine.) Roll, tie, and get on some more rub Slowcooked is best Then enjoy! We cut it into burger like squares and eat on bulkie rolls with bbq sauce. Lets see those crazy bacon creations! Sorry to vegetarians in advance ;)
1/18/2011 8:34:48 AM Hello everyone, I am fairly new here, but I have been reading around and realized how great a community exists here on TruSnow! I have been involved in hobby forums my whole life (fishing, paintball, four wheeling) and have seen a lot of crazy things happen on forums. My favorite one is the picture challenge game, and comes from Jeepforum.com. Here is how the game works: someone issues a challenge. For example, take a picture of your ski/snowboard jacket with a lift ticket on it. And whomever posts the picture that the challenge called for first gets to issue the next challenge. Next Challenge: A picture of your first snowboard It is a really fun game and can produce some crazy and funny pictures! On jeep forum we have everything form people getting pulled over on purpose to get their jeep with a cop in the rear view, to jeeps airborne, to Hooter's girls on top of jeeps Here are the rules: -Post all new challenges in BOLD -Post the challenge you are completing at the top of your post -After 48hrs, or if a challenge is unreasonable, members can vote down the challenge with five votes. At which time the person who issued the last challenge must issue a new one. -Nothing too illegal, no nudity, etc. -If a challenge is only loosely met, for example, take a picture of you getting massive air, and there is a debate on weather the air is "massive", it is best to just let the game keep rolling on and accept the picture. -all pictures must be original pictures taken by yourself. No google images etc allowed. The picture does not have to have you in it unless the challenge calls for it -all challenge winners must post a new challenge in the same post with the picture that completed the previous challenge in bold -if for some reason a rule is broken or a new challenge isn't issued, I reserve the right to simply issue a new challenge to keep the game going -I also reserve the right to verify if a challenge stands or a picture is good for completing a challenge -Read the rules before posting If this is not ok with the mods here or if people feel that it won't be fun to participate, that is fine. If people want to have some fun and have a few laughs along the way.... PICTURE OF YOUR FIRST SNOWBOARD :)
1/18/2011 8:02:11 AM Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any experience using the Thule snowboard rack for a spare tire. http://www.jeepworld.com/accessories/wrangler/skiracks.htm I know Thule makes good products, but I have never seen anyone use the spare tire rack, only the roof rack. -Thanks, Bubba
