1/28/2012 4:47:42 PM OK, watching the 2012 xgames and during mens slopestyle elimination, I see MIkkel Bang riding this board.  I now he rides for burton, and the "C" on top leads me to beleive it is a Custom, and I'm assuming it's next years graphics, but I can't find any info on it.   Isn't that Miss Piggy from the Muppets?
1/23/2012 1:40:55 PM I wanted to start a thread where we can list where any current snowboard events will be on TV and online.I was super bummed that I could not watch the Dew Tour last week anywhere.   Next is Winter X-Games starting this Thursday, January 26th at 12:30pm eastern on ESPN3 and runs through Sunday. Please post any other events you know of.
1/12/2012 6:56:46 AM I was wondering if there were any plans to improve the functionality of the forums?  Just little things that would make navigating and finding these easier, like a better search engine? Also things like being able to better track threads you have replied to.  Right now you can look at them in your profile, but they don't all show up.  Also, at the bottom of the list when you go to page 2, it is blank.  I like checking back on threads to see how things are going but it is near impossible to do that here unless I remember the exact name of the thread and I search from google using the "search term site:trusnow.com" method.   Or are we just waiting to be completely absorbed by The House and then close down the forums entirely?
10/15/2011 12:03:22 PM I live in Las Vegas and we are planning our family snow trip this winter and were going to do Colorado, but with time and travel constraints are going to keep it a little closer to home.  That leaves Big Bear (which we did last year) and the other 3 resorts in so-cal as well as BrianHead Utah and Eagle Point for the short trip.  Longer trip would be Mammoth and those around it or southern utah.   Since we went to Big Bear last year and always go to Cali in the summer, we wanted to go somewhere else so most likely BrianHead, but the cabin we found fell through.  There are 2 families going so we need to sleep 8, so options are limited.  Also need a family friendly hill as our 8 year old girls will be boarding with us.   I didn't see any threads on here about Eagle Point, I guess it's newly bought out, but we found some great cabins at great rates there, plus holiday lift tickets are cheap, so I was just wanting to see if anyone had been boarding there to let me know how it is.  Very hard finding reviews of the joint online since it's reopened (used to be Elk Meadows)
9/27/2011 1:22:41 PM This winter, my family and I will be driving to Colorado to visit family.  They live in Eirie so between Denver and Boulder.  The vacation is the trip, not the destination, and we are planning a week with multiple stops.  I've never been to Colorado so I'm looking for 2 spots for my and my 8 year old daughter to go boarding...1 on the way in and 1 on the way out.  It's gotta be kid friendly and not ridiculously priced for lift and lodging.   The drive from Vegas is about 10 hours so we figured we would stop first in BrianHead Utah to board and stay overnight which is about 3 hours.  I'd like another spot maybe 2-4 hours out of Denver.  Then when we leave Denver, we would like another spot maybe 2-4 hours out of town.   All suggestions welcome...we won't be going till after Christmas (when my daughter gets her new gear from us!)
5/21/2011 1:26:20 PM Selling my size 9 Ride Orion Boots that were used for 1 season (about 10 days).  They are too soft for me and I need to get something better.  Other then that, they are a great beginner boot with no fuss, just standard lacing and a quick pull liner.  Very comfortable.   Nothing is damaged but there are some scuffs on the heels and some black and red marks from my bindings.  Asking $58 (plus shipping) and I have them listed with pics on GearTrade.   http://www.geartrade.com/item/194765# Price if sold through these forums is now $40
5/20/2011 6:40:48 AM So, I see alot of talk on here about Rome bindings and not so much about Ride. I picked up some Ride Delta MVMT bindings, but the high back adjust was stuck open. Returned it for a new pair, just to realize the heel cup is not adjustable so the bindings were to big for my boot. Traded them in for the Ride SPI with the adjustable ankle strap and canted footbeds. They were pretty nice, but seemed a bit stiff for my riding. After 2 days (maybe 30-35 runs) I packed them up. When I took them out to try out a new board, I noticed that BOTH of the toe caps had rips in the rubber meshing. AFTER 2 DAYS! So I got pissed off and returned them to my local shop. Now I am debating between the Rome 390, 390 Boss and Targa, and I've found a great deal of 390 vs Targa threads on here, and it seems like alot have rode the 390 but not so much the Targa. It seems like the 390 boss would be perfect for me but some say how soft it is. I contacted Rome and they even said the Targe with no inserts is the same stiffness as the 390 in the ankle but the high back is stiffer. but I'm leaning more towards the targa so I can switch stiffness when I switch bindings from my midflex camber all mountain board to my soft rockered park board. So here is my Q...how stiff is the Targa highback? Is it softer then the SPI? And would it be to much for a beginner boarder that does mostly all mountain and is trying to get into park?
5/11/2011 6:44:22 AM The Site Search for the forums really sucks. I just wanted to give everyone a tip on getting better search results on the forums here. If you use google to search, just type in your search tear and then follow it with "site:www.trusnow.com" and it will perform a much better search of the site for what you are looking for. For example: "2011 2012 catalog site:www.trusnow.com" always brings up that thread with the catalog lists I'm looking for, but I can never find it using the sites built in search function.
5/2/2011 3:12:28 PM OK. Search on these forums suck. I actually have better luck finding stuff doing a google site search with "site:www.trusnow.com" at the end of my search then using the actual search here. Anyway, I found a couple mentions of extruded but not any specifics, so here goes. I know factory wax sux. My sintered board with just a rub on wax was way better then the first run with the factory was. It's now got a hot wax coat on it till next season. My park board shold be here this week. It's got an extruded base. How ofter should I do a hot wax on that? It won't get ridden as much, but the thing that concerns me the most is I've heard that some boards with die cut graphics actually had the graphic pealing off after a hot wax. Any truth to this? I'm planning on waxing my all mountain (sintered base) every other outing and my park board (extruded base) twice a season. Is that good enough?
4/5/2011 11:08:30 AM I was wondering who all gets cell service at their local resorts. Here in Las Vegas, Verizon and AT&T both loose service about 5 minutes before hitting the lodge, so there is no service at the lodge or on top of the hill. At Big Bear, AT&T had no service down at the base but did haver service at the lodge while Verizon had service at both locations. Snow Summit had service for AT&T as well as Verizon at the lodge.
4/2/2011 11:36:31 AM Watch the live webcast of the 10th Ride Shakedown in Canada on Fuel TV today at 7pm Eastern, 4pm Pacific: http://www.fuel.tv/snowboarding/
4/2/2011 9:01:55 AM What do you prefer? Gloves or Mittens and why? Personally, it bothers me when my fingers touch inside mittens...not sure why. So I got gloves but I guess they were to short in the fingers because the tips of my fingers would get frozen by the end of a session. I noticed all gloves I tried on were either to short in the fingers or to wide in the palms. Then I found some Celtek mittens that have dividers so my fingers don't touch each other! It's takeing me a bit to get used to the lack of freedom in simple things like zipping my jacket, but I'm likeing them more then gloves. And watching the Europe X-Games, I was surprised to see how many of the riders were rocking mitts instead of gloves. How bout you?
3/26/2011 9:13:27 AM The mountain here in Las Vegas is scheduled to close on April 10th. My buddy said it gets really bad the last few week and people always break stuff cause of the horrible conditions. But these last couple weeks we have gotten more snow then I've ever seen and even had some really good pow days. But it's supposed to start warming up this week. What is the latest in the season you would go boarding?
3/3/2011 3:16:53 PM Has anyone ridden the 2011 Rossignol JDUB?
2/3/2011 7:52:47 PM Just like the subject says...when I buy new bindings, do they usually come with a leash and a stomp pad?
