2/4/2009 11:54:34 PM How many of you on here are on Twitter? I added SS, but lacked the motivation to go through and add the regulars that I recognized! Follow me and I'll do the same! http://www.twitter.com/brandonaguiar On another note - I sure wish this season would pick up.  I've only been boarding one day and it's absolutely killing me. I hope you all have been doing well! Brandon
11/15/2008 6:14:05 PM A couple photos from a shoot I did last night.  Enjoy
8/15/2008 3:44:45 PM What a hoax. haha.  I love how the head somehow does not connect to the body and it is played off like it is a shadow or something.  I discovered this while looking at the photo:  If you have an LCD monitor - stand up and look from the top of the monitor down at the picture - the picture looks edited to darken the areas where the neck would connect to the body. Can we say fake?  If you found Bigfoot why would you not erase all doubt from peoples minds and take a photo of him/her CLEARLY. Story below: "http://network.nationalpost.com" UPDATE: I wanted to see the Bigfoot body just as much as everybody else, but the two Georgia Bigfoot hunters didn't impress reporters at their news conference today in California where they had promised to reveal the evidence. It's all very hush-hush: They didn’t produce a body. They said that the body is in a hidden location. They won’t say where they found the creature and saw others. They won’t let anyone but their own hand-picked scientists examine the body, and none were present on Friday. Hmmm, interesting.A second round of DNA testing on the remains of a 7-foot-7, 500 pound man-ape they allege to have stumbled upon while hiking in North Georgia is still being completed, they said. Of three samples in a preliminary DNA test, one came back inconclusive, one contained traces of human DNA and one had traces of opossum DNA — probably from something the creature ate, they said.Best quote out of this may be: “This is becoming like an alien autopsy,” Jeffery Meldrum, a noted Bigfoot researcher and a professor of anthropology at Idaho State University, said. “It’s shenanigans.” ****************  Right up there with the Tooth Fairy, Santa and the Easter Bunny — the giant man/ape known as Bigfoot has been reported sighted but never proven to exist. Until now, possibly. Two Georgia men claim to have found Bigfoot in the northern woods of the state. They say they have a body, photos of the body, and DNA evidence which will be revealed this Friday, Aug. 15, at a news conference in Palo Alto, Calif. DNA evidence? Wait a minute, there is no comparison specimen, so there is no DNA analysis that can definitively identify Bigfoot tissue. Interesting, also, the two men, Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, run Big Foot expeditions. This makes for great publicity for their company. They claim they found Bigfoot about two weeks ago and have put the carcass in a freezer. First the Chupacabra, now Bigfoot, what's next? How about some sunny hot weather for Toronto?! More about the find from a reasonable blog source here: Mr. Whitton, a Georgia police officer on leave to recover from a shooting, and Mr. Dyer, a former prison officer, have posted photos of their "find" on their searchingforbigfoot Web site. They describe the creature as being a 2.3m tall "part human and part ape" male and weighing over 230kg with reddish hair and blackish-grey eyes. The infamous feet are described as being flat and 41cm long with five toes. The hands also have five fingers and and the teeth are more "human-like than ape-like." The hunters claim several Bigfoots were spotted walking upright in the area the body was found but won't reveal the location "to protect the creatures." Mr. Whitton, M
8/10/2008 3:56:26 AM Not sure if any of you went to the start of the Gumball 3000 today in SF but I was there and took a ton of photos.  Here is one for now and I will get more up in the coming days. Enjoy.
7/16/2008 4:44:02 PM I have been MIA for a while intentionally to stop dwelling and thinking about boarding all summer.  Unfortunately i couldn't resist and decided to come check out the forums.  Oh here it starts all over again. I put a thread up a couple months ago about switching my board out to try something else, but I've come to another idea: just add another complete set-up.  I have a Salomon Special 56 which works great for when I like cruising and just free-riding around.   I am thinking of getting something a little more versatile and smaller.  Just FYI, I am about 5'6" at around 150-155.  I was looking at picking up the 08 Custom 151 w/ P1's to give you an idea of a general set-up I am looking at.  Again, I want something smaller for maybe A LITTLE park and just messing around.  As well, i'd like it to be somewhat stable at speed - not a total noodle.   Does the Custom and P1 set-up seem like a decent alternative?  I'm open to suggestions and other brands of boards as well so throw them out there seeing the Custom is not in stock.
5/16/2008 12:27:51 PM So I am sitting here bored and when I am bored I start thinking up crazy ways to spend money.  SS tends to cater to the addiction. More gear is probably the last thing I should be thinking about spending my money on right now...oh well. So I have a 56 Salomon Special w/ Cartels.  Great set up and i had a blast riding it this season.  I can't help but think maybe I should try something new for next season.  I enjoy cruising the mountain and just free riding around - not so much into park.  I was looking at the Custom X w/ some P1's.  Also, size: I was looking at something maybe a tad bit smaller (53 or 54), :: I am 5'6" and about 150-155 ::  I know it probably won't make THAT MUCH of a difference.  Anyways, just toss some ideas out to me.  Should I just keep what I have or try something new?  Any other boards you would recommend, etc?
4/1/2008 6:39:22 PM My first shoot with my new camera.  Enjoy.
2/11/2008 1:54:15 PM Thought I would post up and show you guys some of my latest.  Enjoy. And of course, a nice little fun shot with my wide angle as we were leaving
2/2/2008 6:10:03 PM So I went out today and rode - but man was I having a hard time.  Here is my question: Is there a specific technique to riding in chop?  The snow in parts was beautiful, but on many of the groomed runs today the chop was just tearing me up.  I felt like I could really never keep my balance, especially during turns. Also, just a little FYI,  I ride a Salomon Special w/ Cartels. Anyways, what do you guys find helps you out in those choppy/mixed snow conditions?  I tried keeping my knees bent a little more and ride with the chop but i'm still not satisfied.  Is this something you just have to deal with from time to time?  As well, I felt myself get much more tired then usual.  Any feedback would be great.
1/22/2008 9:15:54 AM On Sunday I went to a local meet (well, more local then our usual meets in the Bay).  We all did a cruise and met at Sac State for photos.  Enjoy.
10/28/2007 8:38:37 PM I shot  a senior portrait shoot today and thought i'd post up some of the key shots. Enjoy, and thanks for looking (p.s) When is the snow coming I have been dreaming about boarding the past like 3 nights, no lie!  Good thing photography keeps me going
10/12/2007 8:34:52 PM So there I was sitting, roaming around SS looking at the same threads over and over .  It was pouring outside and all I could think about was boarding.  I figured I would get my mind off things and go shoot a little.  I happen to look outside and the sun was coming through the storm and made for some very cool shots.  I hop into my car and start driving to a spot in mind.  To my surprise,  I look up and see one of the largest, brightest, fullest rainbows I have probably ever seen in my life - so I start snapping shots out of my car for fun. It was amazing.  So I start driving down the road a little bit more and low and behold...a second rainbow begins to appear.  All I could think about was the possibilities of shots I could get with this in a particular place I knew I wanted to shoot it at.  I continue to drive into the country a bit and I find a pretty neat spot with an open field.  It's pouring down rain but looked pretty good, so I bust out my camera..run across the road and take two shots (one which turned out to be a decent shot). I'm so in a hurry to get to the original spot I had in mind that I jump back in my car to take off...but my car, the side of the road, and mother nature deciding to pour even harder had different plans So there it is.  My car decides to get stuck in the mud - having a lowered car definitely does not help.  I guess it was my fault for not 'spotting' my parking..I guess us photographers in the heat of the moment don't tend to think.  Unfortunately I never made it to my ideal spot - instead I waited outside in the rain for 45 minutes for someone to pull me out.  Soo..the only semi-decent shot I was able to pull out of this whole mess was this: A crooked horizon, somewhat out of focus shot The End.
10/10/2007 5:03:28 PM Thought i'd throw a thread up - What is the technically correct way of making skidded and carved turns? Try to be as detailed as possible on foot movements, etc.
10/8/2007 4:50:52 PM Now im getting excited  Andd the temperatures seem like they are really starting to drop http://www.accuweather.com/news-blogs.asp?partner=netweather&blog=yeager
10/7/2007 4:26:34 PM Parents just dropped the bomb on me that I can't use their truck anymore to go up boarding.  Soo...that means I am going to  have to sell my love (my car) or have to rely on friends to go up boarding every time I want to go (PITA).  I'm pretty upset about it but need to choose another vehicle.  I preferably want a car so that I can still mob around during the summers and am able to have somewhat modding capabilities (since that is another hobby of mine) with so that narrows it down to a WRX.  What do you guys think?  I really don't want to do this but I guess it's all I can do to continue boarding
