9/9/2010 9:52:09 PM Hey All,      I have an interview on Monday with Heavenly for a job as a snowboard instructor.  I am not certified and have never worked in the industry, but have been riding  and teaching a lot of friends for 4 years.  I love snowboarding and want to be surrounded by it for a season before a career job starts.      Anyone ever worked or been interviewed by a resort for an instructor job.  What should I expect to be asked and what do I need to be prepared.  As always, any and all help is appreciated,
6/30/2010 9:28:40 PM So it looks like I have a pretty good chance of getting a snowboard instructor job this season at Vail, and have the option of 7-14 kids or adults.  What do you guys think would be a better option?  Anyone out there have any experience in instructing?  advice? Thanks guys, hope to see some of you in Vail this season!
7/4/2009 10:01:42 AM I am jonesing for a camera to replace my point and shoot digi, and I have my eye on some.  Canon seems to be topping the list, right now I believe I want the Rebel T1i  or XSi. Both seem like they would be a good camera for a beginner looking for a new little hobby, but the T1i has HD video and HDMI, which are two huge pluses.  Prices are like $680 for XSi and $820 for T1i. I love to photoshop pictures, too, and am learning video editing which is why the ability to record video is attractive to me.  I wanna take it snowboarding, so toughness and body material is also a component to keep in mind. Thanks for all advice, I know there are some talented photographers on the forums and wanted some advice before plunging into an expensive purchase.  Thanks again!
10/21/2008 7:38:12 PM Looks like Volcom is going the way of DC and making hardgoods.  Pro's like Gigi Ruf, who just signed with Volcom, will be riding Volcom boards this season.  http://www.snowboard-mag.com/node/32985#comment
10/15/2008 4:00:38 PM Anyone else get this awesome e-mail from Rome??  I gotta say they are dead on with this one, and I totally agree.  Write your opinions below. ROME AND CONSOLIDATED BRING YOU THE LIMITED LIBERTINE DRUNK   Should we support the idea that a brand’s roots, involvement in, and connection to snowboarding don’t matter? Should we say, “hey, athletics-r-us brand, you haven’t given a shat about snowboarding for 30 years and your spandex-clad board of directors still don’t give a shat about snowboarding now, but that’s cool, come on in and make some money off us”? Should we really accept them as a snowboard or skate company just because they can spend a ton of cash on some of the best, most iconic riders? Does the ability to cut a big check magically turn a pair of figure skates into a pair of snowboard boots? Should snowboarders lie down and accept it when the mainstream tries to reduce snowboarding to just some other generic form of “athleticism”?If you think the same logo that’s on that nut-hugger swim suit, golf ball, tennis skirt, jump rope, baseball bat and rollerblade might as well be on your next pair of snowboard boots, what will snowboarding look like in five or ten years? Will it be influenced in a way that’s true to our history?Does any of this matter?Does snowboarding even matter? That’s up to you. The Libertine Drunk, a collab between the Rome SDS and Consolidated Skateboards, is a limited edition get-together of two brands who think sporting goods companies aren’t snowboard or skate companies.www.romesnowboards.com   Rome Snowboard Design Syndicate 1 Derby Lane Waterbury, VT 05676 www.romesnowboards.com
9/16/2008 4:57:00 PM I am looking serioudly at going to Mt. Hood this January, and was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion for a cheap place to stay close to the mountain.  I'm a college student so cheap is most important  :)   Anyone with any knowledge on the area, lay it on me!  Much appreciated!
9/2/2008 3:01:22 PM found this picture on snowboard-mag today, looks like the 2010 burton un inc base design since its danny davis riding it and he pretty much only rides the un inc.  Thoughts?  anyone to confirm?
8/2/2008 12:45:03 PM I've needed to get some new wheels for a while now, but never got around to doing it.  Went out today for about an hour, fooling around and stepped of the board onto the back wheel and it literally split in half.  So now i am forced to get some, size 68mm but I am not sure of what softness to get.  I'm not the best at carving because i don't get to try it so much in the summer, but i do love to break the wheel doing spins and sliding.  So what do you think would be the best??  Soft enough to help me carve, but hard enough to break when i want it to.  I was thinking 82a, just wanted opinions before i drop $40 on em. Oh yeh, i ride a 34" Original Terrapin, loving the hell outta that thing, so much fun.  I highly recommend Original Trucks, so much more fun that regular ones.
7/23/2008 5:51:21 PM what is this board called?  Don't remember seeing it in the previews...
7/23/2008 5:25:28 PM New line of Stepchild, I really like the Corporate board, has a cool message to it as well.  The Chamberlain board isn't bad, looks like he is all the way with his Nomis design!  http://www.snowboard-mag.com/node/31916
7/11/2008 8:13:48 PM Anyone else excited to see the Dark Knight this friday?  I got lucky and grabbed some Imax tickets for opening night, so now I am super excited for it to come out!  I'd say its a shoe-in for best movie of the summer and probably (for me) the best batman movie.  I like the direction the new series is going and cannot wait to see Ledger play the joker as a dark, murderous and truly insane man that just wants to see the world burn!  1 weeks countdown...
7/7/2008 8:05:25 PM One of the proudest moments of my life, just held my breath for 3:52, albeit while driving.  Got to the point where i was doing really good and had to pull over to continue, or risk passing out.  Anyone on here beat that?  Post your best, no cheating!                                        < Holding breath
7/2/2008 8:42:26 PM heading to jackson hole this december!!  the family and I just planned everything and got tickets for dec 18th - dec 22.  I didn't think this was enough time to ride jackson respectively, so i am heading up there 3 days before everyone else.  My question is if someone can recomend a cheap hotel, preferably in town where i can hop on a bus to get to teton village.  that way i can ride all day and come back to the town and chill.  Let me know and thanks for any help!!
5/30/2008 9:59:41 PM who all saw The Strangers?  just saw it tonight, pretty disturbing video.  Anyone know the real story since it is "based on true events"?  also, what did u think if u saw it?
5/15/2008 5:29:20 PM     I just got done watching Thanks Brain and wow!!  it took me 45 minutes to watch the first 15 minutes, just because i kept replaying hits.  I would say it is the best video since Lame, it really made snowboarding FUN and made me want to just go outside and goof around on a board.  If you haven't seen it, check it out!  If you have seen it, what did you think?
