1/22/2015 8:35:08 PM Yup! It's the SKI FREE deal (buy one get one free) I linked in the OP. Btw, I added a short descriptor to that initial post. Sierra's rules on the discount are a bit different. You pay FULL price on Day 1, then you ski/ride on Day 2 for free. Homewood, Mt. Rose, and Shasta dealios are straight-up BOGO's -- i.e. 2 lift tix to be used on a single by 2 different guests, obviously, for the the price of 1. And of course, these offers (like nearly all lift ticket deals) are restricted to certain days, so pay attn to that as well.
1/20/2015 6:44:24 PM I'd say the current SF Giants nearly fit the definition of dynasty. If they earn one more trophy within the next 3 seasons, imho, you can label them so. And although not as recent, the run that the San Antonio Spurs had from '99 to '07, particularly their every-other-year (just like the aforementioned Giants) championships in '03, '05, and '07 is definitely a dynasty. Last year's trophy simply cemented that they STILL have the formula to win it all!
1/19/2015 1:47:59 AM Just in case y'all did not realize these deep discounts are for beginner ski/snowboard lesson package, I updated my post to highlight that. Hence, the reason I mentioned that these are killer deals for those poppin' their cherries.
1/18/2015 9:36:34 PM As a lifelong, diehard 49er fan, I have no issues saying that Russell Wilson is a stud. His whole team just stayed in the battle. Coaches & players dug deep into their playbooks and left it all out there. They made the key plays in the 4th, while Green Bay couldn't quite execute to put them away. Plus, Seattle won the OT toss, and they didn't give Rodgers & the GB offense a chance by scoring the clinching TD on their 1st & only OT possession. And I'm so disappointed with Indy's showing today. While I didn't like their chances of pulling out the win, I was hoping it wasn't going to be such a thumpin'. Andrew Luck is also a stud. Just not today.
1/18/2015 9:22:54 PM Because January is Learn to Ski & Snowboard month, there are loads of killer deals for anyone y'all might wanna bring along to pop their ski & snowboard cherries. Among the best prices on these beginner ski/snowboard packages are: Alpine $49 (compared to their usual $149-189 rate) beginner package; available Mon-Fri only   http://squawalpine.com/events-things-do/49-learn-ski-ride-special-alpine-meadows These next two appear to be good all season, NOT just in "June"uary (See what I did there cuz we've had ZERO snow since around Christmas?). Sierra $45 online pre-purchase (compared to window walk-up price of $114); Sun-Fri only   http://www.sierraattahoe.com/learn-to-ski-ride Homewood $49 online pre-purchase (compared to $89 at the window); Sun-Fri only   http://www.skihomewood.com/lessons/adult Please note that during peak days & holiday periods these deals are not offered. Click the links for complete details.
1/18/2015 8:56:23 PM Last weekend, I was the 5th person waiting in line. Lots of deals! Too bad they did not have any stiff freeride bindings I had hoped to score. I ended up buying 4 pairs of kicks for the $100 I had budgeted for bindings. Couldn't help myself. A common phrase I heard that day was, "I would be spending so much more if they took credit or debit." ALL 2015 gear was 25% off. Maybe it will have a bit more of a discount next month, eh? I'll be in Tahoe during the encore liquidation sale. But remember, y'all.... CA$H ONLY ! ! !
1/15/2015 12:31:29 AM Are you referring to his win over DC or his win over his coke addiction? How does one only do a ONE day stint in rehab?!?   http://www.foxsports.com/ufc/story/jon-jones-exits-rehab-after-one-day-plans-to-attend-afc-title-game-this-weekend-011315
1/12/2015 1:30:07 PM Hook up your fellow powderhounds & shredheads by posting any deals & discounts for resorts in the Tahoe/NorCal area. While their list doesn't seem as comprehensive as in  the past, the go-to site with a decent rundown of deals is:   http://www.slidingonthecheap.com/deals/It also helps to email them to add it to their listing. One such deal not (yet) found on SOTC is:   http://skifreedeals.com/ski-resorts-california-nevada.html (Shell gas BuyOneGetOneFree vouchers)
1/1/2015 5:13:43 PM BUMP from the grave for UFC 182: Jones vs. Cormier 'Tis crazy to read what the questions, thoughts & rumors were around this time last year. Tons of change over the past 12-13 months... A new womens' division dawned and has its 1st champion Injury epidemic (read: curse) After having one WW champs for several years, we saw 2 different men claim the strap in their epic 1st fight & rematch Announcement (at an "OK, we're serious this time. The Time is Now cuz we officially finalized everything." press conference ) of uniforms to debut in 2015 Way too many events as several cards were VERY lackluster Because losing stars like Anderson & GSP as well as aforementioned injuries to a few champs & PPV draws really does hurt viewership & interest The emergence of Connor and a few other surprises showing potential w/ their abilities as a fighter & self-promoter and much much more for me to recall & recap
12/30/2014 4:54:55 PM BUMP today cuz I'm not sure why this thread didn't get moved up the ladder when I posted yesterday. Btw, lightning, I'm thinking abt hitting Boreal next Fri (9th) or the one after that (16th). ***EDIT***WTF is up w/ this error msg? Happened yesterday, too. Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'Query timeout expired/forum/functions/functions_common.asp, line 904
12/29/2014 5:33:47 PM I know you asked this several months back, but since we had a quick chat convo earlier, I figured I'd answer in case you'd like to compare it to the one you may currently be using. I use AlpineReplay on my Samsumg (so 'tis an Android app). When I used it a couple weeks back on my 1st day of the season, I found out that it has since been renamed Trace.https://snow.traceup.com/landing Happy shreddin'.
1/27/2013 10:33:24 PM Went to Heavenly 3x, Kirkwood and Squaw. Passed on Northstar.
Nice. Which spot didya like best & why? I'm gonna guess ya dug Heavenly the most only cuz you spent the most time there. Not that it matters much, but my rankings of the 3 are The Wood, Squawllywood, then Heavenly.
1/20/2013 8:27:19 AM
yes, they have these "euro" stands throughout the village..selling waffles, crepe, and hotdogs and stuff.
I've ridden thrice so far this season, and each spot (Squaw, Homewood & Sierra) had these Euro stands. Holy ballz! It smells deliciously tempting as the aroma of freshly-made waffles wafts thru the air. The hut is so strategically placed in the base area as to wrangle in the highest potential number of victims... err... I mean... customers () with their bait. Not sure how I was able to resist, esp. that 1st encounter @Squaw.
1/20/2013 8:24:37 AM So how did your trip go? What did you think of each resort?
1/18/2013 9:49:30 PM Hmmm.... I could swear I paid w/ a CC once before. I know Laurent prefers cash or debit. They also accept check w/ proper ID. Also, the "AND MORE..." part of their ad is where your wallet will feel it the most if you're not disciplined. They may have other non-snowboard related items available--i.e. Nixon watches, clothing/apparel from RVCA, etc. Since my plans to roll down to SD this wknd fell thru, I'll be swinging by the showroom around lunchtime. Hope they'll still have some cold beer left.
