2/20/2015 5:39:24 PM I think wholesale testing of the entire roster would be a good thing. It could mean GSP might return, eh? Btw, anyone catch the free card last wknd?Bendo executed his gameplan well. If he had not been able to avoid Thatch's aggression & damage in the early rounds, I didn't have much hope for him.Hopefully, Thatch learns a lot from this fight. He shoulda listened to his corner a bit better btwn the 1st & 2nd or 2nd & 3rd when they told him to dial down the power and instead turn up the speed & quickness of his striking. I think he woulda had Bendo on his bike even more, and catch him w/ lesser shots yet still do some damage. He still has plenty of upside & room for growth.
2/20/2015 5:26:44 PM HOLY CRAP! (swidt?) And how did no one mention how the sh!t literally hit the fan?

2/18/2015 5:16:22 PM Damn, Mike! I'm so jelly. You are logging in some serious time on the slopes, bruddah. Keep on keepin' on! When I get the time, I'll post up my measly 3 days thus far. Halfway to my goal of 6 days! LOL How pathetic when it wasn't too long ago that I was able to get 12 - 15 days in per season in with no problem. Oh well. Any days on the mtn is better than NONE.
2/18/2015 5:11:49 PM  smh at the post-fight test failure. On another forum a couple days after the Diaz match, I had mentioned how Anderson sounded like he was SERIOUSLY considering retirement even with 9 fights left on the latest contract he signed. I had even noted that he 1st needs to uphold his coaching commitment on the TUF Brazil 4 season in Vegas. Then days later, I read that he has been removed after the 1st week cuz of possible disciplinary action imposed by the commission. Kinda embarrassing, eh? I mean, it's not career ending shame or anything, but it's kinda starting to taint his legacy--at least in my eyes.
2/13/2015 5:14:10 PM Sweeeet! Sad to see Laurent & others guys close shop. But he's got his restaurant in SoCal to run.
2/12/2015 6:07:19 PM Nice! Good to see a range of styles & eras. Eddie back in the day is tuff to beat! Only ones ahead of him are prolly Carlin & Pryor. I dig Brian Regan. His facial expressions & physicality kill me. Damn! How'd I forget to say Chris Rock?!? I used to know his Bring the Pain stuff cold. I need to get back into his work. I thought of Demetri Martin & Mike Birbiglia. They both got some truly clever stuff. Demetri looks like Steve Carrell. You won't be able to unsee it. LOL As far as people, like Russell Peters, with bits that blew up & got them TONS of exposure...I gotta go with Anjelah Johnson, esp since I lived in San Jose for a stretch so I connected with her impressions & where her stuff came from. I saw her live a few years back. Solid stuff.Enjoy![tube]SsWrY77o77o[/tube]
2/10/2015 9:18:47 PM A li'l unrelated exchange with barnyard in the UFC thread got me thinking about my favorites of the stand-up comedy game. My all-time fave is Dave Chappelle, esp his stuff from Killin' 'em Softly in 2000[tube]ofnSojq-vqI[/tube] My favorite now is Bill Burr. Imho, he doesn't get the props he deserves.[tube]AlvvCYUDHrQ[/tube] My other faves are sadly gone... Mitch Hedberg[tube]u6xaj2fC1jI[/tube] Greg Giraldo[tube]XFQDIxE9CTc[/tube] Patrice O'Neal (audio only, but lots of other video can be found on YouTube)[tube]273jPmAlv64[/tube]
2/10/2015 8:20:45 PM Seems that lots the folks who frequent the winter playgrounds in the Sierras like I do missed an entertaining yet VERY important tidbit in Bryan Allegretto's (aka Tahoe Weather Guru of OpenSnow.com) update early last week. He posted the Top Ten activities to get it to snow. Topping the list at #1 was...1. Give up hope. The storm-blocking high pressure ridge is fueled by hopes and optimism.  Right around MLK wknd last month, I stopped wishing for a turn-around. And as my planned trip this past wknd approached and all throughout it, I remained doggedly pessimistic about the weather outlook. But alas, I could not vanquish the power of everyone else's dreams of rainbows, unicorns, butterflies & fluffy white snow. With the ridge shifted, instead the hope & optimism fed the machine that creates very gusty winds & a ridiculously high snowline. While it was awesome to get a decent amount of snow on Fri and into Sat, it rained all day Sun except for above 9000ft. And sadly, the winds kept many lifts on hold. When I called Heavenly's snowphone during lunch on Sun, it said that they were shutting down the mtn for the day due to the weather -- likely the wintry mix of precip coupled with the damaging winds. Luckily, the snow level came down by Sun night & for all Mon (yesterday), so whoever got to shred yesterday & today got decent pow. Plus, the winds diminished significantly so more lifts were able to run. Bottom line: I beg of y'all, please join me in giving up hope & optimism so we no longer feed the ugly ridge that's messing with our beloved winter playgrounds.
2/10/2015 7:32:10 PM Just a reminder to y'all Tahoe/Sierra Nevada Mtn resorts discount hunters & powderhounds... It's SKI WEEK next week, so some of the weekday discounts will be blacked out. Be sure to check the restrictions on any comps & deals. Happy shreddin'!
2/9/2015 5:19:05 PM Yep, I miss his comedy stylings. When I was more active here, I would change my signature every month or so to a different joke of his. I guess I'm long overdue for an edit, eh?
2/8/2015 10:50:10 PM Rain/very wet snow + high winds = No bueno
2/8/2015 10:48:21 PM How was it? Ya score what ya were looking for?
2/2/2015 5:24:22 PM I think you mean you didn't think it gonna be a "clean sweep" as far as Anderson winning EVERY round. Cuz both guys' performances mos def warranted a UD for The Spider. And one of the 3 judges, Sal D'Amato, did give Nick the 4th round yielding the only 49 - 46 scorecard. Finally, here's one more episode featuring the fictional comedy stylings of Nick & Nate..... 2/1/2015 1:41:13 PM OFMG! Nick was HILARIOUS in the 1st! I fell out when he laid down in that pose. https://vine.co/v/OtIgPtvpxvW  Vine clip of that moment. ENJOY!
