1/21/2014 10:16:53 PM Has anyone on here hit up Big Sky or Moonlight Basin? There are combined for the first time this year so you have access to over 5300 acres with one lift ticket! I'll be out there in about a month and am looking for any insights and advice on how best to navigate the mountain and what areas to hit. We're an advanced group of boarders and some of us including yours truly are looking for wide open bowls and tree runs and don't mind hiking. In fact, prefer it to get the good stuff. We all have avy gear too so anything goes.
1/28/2013 1:54:58 PM so looks like the wife and i will be going to jackson hole in february. just curious if anyone on on the board has ever rented snowmobiles and took the sleds off trail into the backcountry out there (or anywhere really). we are looking to do a little off trail riding and definitely want to venture out to look for fresh lines and untapped powder (if the timing is right with snowfall). any pointers and advice on companies to go with, minimum sled power, trails to hit, places to go and how to handle a sled would be greatly appreciated. been meaning to do some backcountry hiking out in tahoe, but don't have snowshoes just yet.
1/24/2012 10:13:37 PM holler at me if you have a pair and willing to sell!
4/5/2011 1:14:31 AM has anyone ever pole mounted their ContourHD camera to a monopod? If so, what monopod and accessories did you use? If you made a DIY mount, let me know about it too. I know that many people have done this with the GoPro, but haven't ever seen anyone do this for the ContourHD. I was thinking about just getting a lightweight monopod and attaching the camera via the bike mount accessory, but not sure if this is the best way.
3/20/2011 11:30:25 PM I did a quick search for this topic and couldn't find anything and in a REAL big hurry since i procrastinated so sorry if this is a repost. I just received 2 Go Snowboarding Free LTR lesson & lift ticket packages from my friends and want to use them at Kirkwood tomorrow and the next day. Has anyone tried using it this year? I am just curious if I really have to take a lesson and if they are only for beginner lifts. I don't remember if Kirkwood has beginner only lift tickets...assistance please! thanks!!

2/18/2011 10:04:12 AM the snow is back as resorts have gotten anywhere from 5-9 feet, yes FEET, of snow! it's still snowing today and probably through the weekend. a bunch of my friends are going to be hitting the south lake resorts (i.e. heavenly and kirkwood), but looks like i'm going to miss all of this snow as i promised a friend i would visit him in pasadena. anyone else set plans to get up there in the deep stuff?
2/6/2011 12:44:06 PM Barely used (3 times) VR28 Black Iridium lens with a scratch on the lower right hand side of the lens. It actually does not affect vision as you can't see the scratch when you have the goggles on. $40 plus shipping. 2/5/2011 10:41:00 AM what's everyone's plans? hosting a party, going to a party? if hosting what are you planning on having? and of course, post your predictions! Green Bay (-3), 45.5 we're hosting a small get together and plan on having salsa, guac, chips, chili, homemade wings and potato skins and since it's going to be in the 70's here, probably will grill up some chicken and veggies. Taking GB all the way, not sure about the over under, but probably a defensive game.
12/29/2010 10:03:22 AM For all of you who have facebook and live near to Tahoe or Mammoth - check this out! Snowbomb is giving away Tahoe cards - basic, Silver and Gold - and also a GoPro camera! All you have to do is like Snowbomb's FB page and post about what is your favorite resort. Once you do that, get your friends to do the same and like your post. Person with the most likes wins! Everyone who posts gets a basic Tahoe card! Search for my post (you gotta look for me since I did it yesterday - Tony Tran) and like my post about Squaw Valley and I'll do the same for you!
12/29/2010 12:50:59 AM Just saw this on the news and read up on it...20 year old found dead at the resort in a creek. Not sure if he hit his head or fell and broke something and just froze to death but authorities didn't find him until the day after. http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_16958722?nclick_check=1 I was at Whistler/Blackcomb last year and in white out conditions on top of Blackcomb...it was like someone put a white blanket over my head so couldn't see a damn thing. Had to take it super slow as the only thing I could see were faint orange and green sticks marking cliff ledges. I was just thinking how easy it would have been to fall off if you went past the wrong marker!
12/23/2010 7:59:48 AM I have a 2009 Burton Supermodel 159 for sale. Asking $225 and local pick-up or meet-up only in the Bay Area. I don't have anymore snowboard sleeves anymore after my move. It's barely used basically new as I only took it out 3-4 times in powder. PERFECT CONDITION, base and top sheet. Edges still sharp, all it needs is some wax and it's ready to go. I'll also be in Mammoth for new years and Tahoe (north lake) every weekend in January if you want to meet there.
9/19/2010 6:35:08 PM anyone who has used nike snowboard boots, please post your review here. i know they are comfortable as i have tried them on, but how to they work in the snow? do they last? are they soft or stiff? let me know which ones you have tried - kaiju, dk or zoom force 1. i'm thinking about some zoom forces, but want to see what everyone else who has tried them thinks. there are NO reviews anywhere...if there are threads already, some please link. thanks!
7/10/2010 2:21:28 AM I'm in the south island and went to Mt Hutt today...first time in NZ so only measuring it up against resorts in North America, but we were pretty impressed with the snow quality even though it hadn't really snowed in weeks. Temps have remained cold up there so seems like the snow has not melted and refroze. Too many people though. Anyone been to the other resorts around QT? How are conditions at Treble Cone? Cardrona? Remarkables? Anyone been out to any of the club fields? Olympus? Craigieburn? Broken River? Need to head somewhere soon but would like some first hand reports...thanks!
4/20/2010 12:15:43 PM this July and need some advice on which club fields and resorts to hit up. I'll be flying into Christchurch sometime around the 10th of July and staying for up to 10 days. holler at me if you have some advice!
